Rps Motorsports - Motorcycle Mechanic Repair Customer Reviews

I was referred to Ron at RPS by a friend who owns a large production welding shop who said Ron is the best welder he knew for aluminum projects. I have taken Ron a bunch of performance automotive projects including aluminum bungs, intercooler piping, downpipes, and complicated brackets. I have yet to take him a single thing that did not turn out exactly how I wanted it. Everytime I pick something up I always end up showing it to my friends and saying "wow he got the angle and the little details exactly how I need them". I've been working on cars and doing restorations for over 30 years since I was a little kid and it's so rare to find someone who does dependable high quality work. I earnestly recommend this business.

I owe Ron more then a 5 star rating - he’s been the only mechanic I use for my motorcycles and the “fixer upper” I have now that has unique problems to say the least. He’s handled weird wiring, old bikes, bent frames, stupid questions and annoying requests like a champ. He’s fair and honest and has gone above and beyond to get be back on the road. Thanks a million Ron!

RPS has worked on two project bikes for me, 1976 Honda Elsinore MT-250, and current, a 1978 Yamaha RD 400 Daytona Special. I was very pleased with the results of the first project bike, like stepping back in time, runs perfect, which resulted in choosing RPS again to take on the restoration of the Yamaha RD 400. Ron is a perfectionist, very detailed and consistently asks the right questions during each step of the build. This facility would definitely rate 5 stars, but I went with 4 stars solely because Ron works alone and has to complete all the bikes by himself causing a backlog. Unfortunately, my bike was a complete restoration, time consuming causing a "work or no work" situation depending on his work load. For a quick fix Ron is the man! For a total rebuild Ron is the man also, but patience is required. My RD 400 is almost done, took awhile, but I am very much loving the end result. Great job Ron! Home run again! Get an apprentice to assist you, and to move the bikes faster through your shop.

I have been going to Ron over at RPS for years now, These guys know bikes, I have brought many different bikes from new to old with everything from electrical issues, engine problems, shock rebuilds. Ron has fixed them all with attention to detail. At a more than fair price. It’s great to have a local go to bike shop. Thanks Ron!!!

Ron charged me 350$ for a carb rebuild and my grips to be done and a valve adjustment and I also had two leaks, when he told me my Dirtbike was done I came to come get it, the grips had not been changed it wasnt tuned and he just messed up my bike more than I needed for it to be fixed already, he also lied about my carb saying it couldn’t be fixed, all my buddy’s don’t go here anymore because they have trouble with the owner. Do not take your bike to this place. Go to Herman tuning or wild for the machine in Oceanside. Ridiculous do better
