Customer reviews provide varied perspectives on Rochester Collision Center South. One customer, satisfied with the front-end bumper replacement on their 2012 Chevrolet Impala, praised the team (Gail and John) for being fantastic and pleasant, resulting in a car that looked "brand new." This positive feedback highlights successful repair work and good customer interaction. However, another customer reported a significantly negative experience with a rear-end repair on their Volkswagen Tiguan. This customer claimed improper installation and failure to replace seals led to water damage, ruining electronics, the camera, and the automatic liftgate touch function. Despite multiple attempts to resolve the issue with the collision center's manager, Tony, the customer reported being "shunned away" and that the center failed to admit fault. This led to the customer preparing to file a case in conciliation court. This contrasting feedback suggests that while some customers experience excellent service and results, there can be significant issues with repair quality and customer service in other instances, leading to disputes.

In conclusion, Rochester Collision Center South presents itself as a leading auto repair station in Rochester, MN, specializing in comprehensive collision repair, paint, and auto body work. My 2012 Chevrolet Impala had Damage to the front end when I bought it, and I wanted to get the bumper replaced to match the original. The Collision center team,Gail and John were fantastic and pleasant to work with and ensured I was taken care of. The end result couldn’t be better, it looks like a brand new car. I would definitely do business with them again if I ever had the need.

I have had my vehicle rear ended the collision department at Rochester Chevrolet installed my repair of the liftgate and bumper October 2024. The temperature dropped below 33 degree this winter and my liftgate would not open. I went to the collision center to report the problem three times. Each time they ran me around. I finally took my car in to a shop that handles my specific vehicle Volkswagen Tiguan. The shop diagnosed my issue and came back with a report that water had been coming in due to improper installation and failure to replace the seals during installation. Rochester Chevrolettt charged me over $5000 to repair my lift gate and bumper and used the factory seal. Failure to replace my tailgate properly has now ruined my electronics in my rear tailgate, destroyed my camera and automatic touch lift to open the vehicles tailgate. Paperwork was brought in to Tony the manager of the collision for review which clearly stated water damage into the gate. After reproaching the dealership today of 2/12/25 I have now determined that they are not easy to approach and again have failed to admit their fault to the problem even stated it was due to my windshield wiper that caused the problem, I have now received the packet for conciliation court in Olmsted County and will be filing against them 2/14/25. I appreciate this response, please refer to my direct contact email for the owner only. I have great emotional distress from my 3 prior attempts in contacting the staff at Rochester Collision center 1/25 -2/25. I attempted to come in one additional time with a full diagnostic of the problem provided from a shop that knew I had been under great distress. They diagnosed the water coming in due to an improper installation. I contacted Tony the manager one last time 2/12/25 in his office at Rochester collision center south. He once again shunned me away leaving me in distress and took no responsibility for the installation malfunction, which was clearly set in front of him by the paperwork I received by the shop who looked at the damage to my car caused by the faulty installation. Your office clerk has sent me the receipt of the work done for my file in my email. She has the information to contact me by email. Should you wish to intercede as the owner you may reach me at my email address that your office used to forward my receipt. See Asta Vass

I wish I could leave less than 1 star review. Took my van in to get fixed after a minor accident. When we finally went to get it back, we saw a flaw and pointed it out to the worker. I believe his name was John, he said it would take a while to fix. His attitude and tone gave off that he really could care less if we were satisfied or not. We left the van there and asked them to do it correctly, then received a call back an hour later that it was done. Why wasn’t it done correctly the first time if it only took a few minutes? If I’m leaving my vehicle in the hands of people that are getting paid to fix it, they should be fixing it correctly the first time and caring about how the customer feels.

If I could leave a "zero" star rating, I certainly would. Rochester Collision Center is by far the WORST place to get your vehicle repaired. Please read for further clarification. A few months back I stopped into the collision center because I noticed a part of my front bumper on my 2019 Silverado was falling off. Spoke with a few gentlemen who told me they would get parts on order and let me know when they arrived so they could get the repair scheduled. I was told not to worry about cost that they would attempt to get it covered under warranty. After a few weeks passed, I called in to check on the status of the parts and nobody could recollect me visiting and I did not get the names of the individuals who were ordering the parts. My fault?? After expressing frustrations to someone "higher" up, suddenly I was told the parts had arrived, but they were concerned "who" would pay for this repair. I reiterated I was told it may be covered under warranty but at this point I did not care if I had to pay for it out of pocket, I wanted to get this FIXED. We left off the conversation that I would be called the following day and have not heard anything since. This has been at least a month now. This my friends is why I would NEVER buy a vehicle at Rochester Chevrolet/Collision Center. I am supposed to trust these individuals with my $50,000 Silverado? I THINK NOT! I will deal with my broken bumper clip. BUYER BEWARE!!

I had a poor experience with this vendor. After dropping off my car for body work following a collision, I picked up my vehicle and noticed an abnormal sound coming from the passenger side. I had to return the car back to the collision center before having the chance to even exit the Apache Mall parking lot. A bolt was stuck in one of my passenger tires and had been sustained at some point during the repair process. The collision staff offered to plug the tire at no cost to me, but it did not last even 12 hours. A plug that is properly installed with tires of good tread depth (mine are of good depth per the shop’s own inspection report) should last at least 5 years or 25,000 miles. I have never experienced or heard of such complications (and substandard workmanship) from reputable dealerships. The obvious lack of quality of the tire plug calls into question the quality of the body work as well. My experience with this vendor has caused me unnecessary grief and secondary expenses devoted to fixing this tire. I will not be returning and will actively steer away anyone I know who is seeking body work for their vehicle.
