Rick seems to have plenty of customers, which seems well deserved. He seems to work on a lot of Harleys -- but not only those, so it's worth a call whatever you ride. I had an undiagnosed problem with my Suzuki V-twin sport bike and he said he didn't want to get into the engine [EDIT to clarify: I believe he does do engines on Harleys or others, just not engines like my bike's] but was comfortable working on other parts, so I reckon he won't take (and won't dork up) a job he doesn't feel fully competent to do. He had said he had a couple weeks' customer work in the pipeline ahead of me, so I reckon he'll be candid with you about that too, instead of saying anything to get your bike in the door then have it sit untouched. The first time I called him I said I was going to try a couple things to diagnose the trouble myself before bringing it to him. Far from trying to dissuade me, I'd say he encouraged me. Ultimately I did bring it to him and he put it under his roof. But after I read and thought a bit more I was confident that I had narrowed the possibilities to 3 things and could rule in/out at least 2 of them in a short time, so I went back to his shop. He let me sit in his storage space with the bike while I poked at it with my multimeter. Well, folks, I fixed it! Sometimes the hardest thing -- and this was a set of symptoms that discussion forum threads attest had, on some other people's bikes, stumped multiple stealership mechanics -- is knowing where to look/poke, because there are a lot of choices. So I can't tell you anything about Rick's Place actually working on my bike [EDIT to add: later, I did take it to him for sprocket, chain, and tires replacement, and that was all good 馃憤], but from my experience with Rick he'll be the first call I make for repairs in the county area. The only "downside" is there might be a bit of a wait for him to be able to work on your bike. But if a shop that has been around for years has immediate availability, it makes me wonder why that might be.

Fair rates, honest and does great work. Need some work done to your Harley-Davidson? Give Rick's a try, you won't regret it.

Personally had a bad experience at this shop. Took my bike in for a charging system issue i was having and got it fixed. The bike didn't even last two days when the same issue came up. Took it back to him the next day to get it checked out and see what the problem was and he had it for 8 months. It took him 8 months to "fix" it and it still didn't work!!! The bike lasted a week before the same issue came up so i don't know what he did in those 8 months he had it. Never going back to him again. I don't recommend this shop.
