Dustin and staff are very knowledgeable. I took my truck somewhere else and they charged me and said they couldn't find anything. Dustin knew exactly what was wrong and fixed it in a timely manner.

This past year I have dealt with many mechanics, none of whom Take the care and attention that Dustin and Greg do when it comes to working on vehicles. I won’t take my diesels anywhere else from now on this is the spot. I highly recommend them if you are having any kind of issues that warrant a great Mechanic.

Had an Overall very pleasant used car buying experience at Reds. The whole process only took about an hour and a half and everyone was very friendly and transparent. The owner is a big time car enthusiast so they have an awesome selection of unique and exciting cars. I recommend checking these guys out if you’re in the market for a used car.

I purchased my F250 from a local dealer in town. After about 30 day's it left me stranded on the side of the road. I had it towed to a local repair shop who told me that it had been tuned and was missing the tuner (this was not disclosed in my initial purchase - it was also deleted!). So, I had the truck towed to the dealership I purchased it from. They then blamed me for deleting the truck, which I had no part in. It probably shouldn't have even been on their lot. They couldn't work on it either and sent it to a local Ford Dealership who also couldn't do anything. They asked that I restore the vehicle by adding all the deleted exhaust before they would work on it (probably corp policy). The owner of Reds was recommended by the repair manager at the local dealership as what I felt was a last resort. The Guys at Reds knew what needed to be done to resolve the issue and were willing to work it. I always recommend these guys. Out of 3 Shops I went to, 2 of them dealerships, Reds Diesel fixed the problem.

Long overdue (about a month), but I will say that every town has “that” hidden-gem diesel mechanic. They are EXTREMELY difficult to find, but you know it when you find them and you never go to anyone else. Red’s Diesel & Automotive is “that” shop in ABQ. I am on my second military tour here in ABQ and was completely unsuccessful in finding a trustworthy mechanic the first time around. That always left me without my 2012 F-350 for 3+ weeks anytime I took it to a dealership & got jockeyed to the back of a long line every time they didn’t have a gasket in stock. I do a lot of my own maintenance, so it’s extra frustrating when you know how basic some of the items are and the dealership takes a month to get it done, then charges you $4K. No more. Red’s Diesel and Automotive was knowledgeable, professional, personable, kept in contact the entire time, and only had my truck for 8 days after doing a ton of work. I just hit 200K miles in my truck and developed a mystery oil leak (weird, I know), had recently replaced my alternator and starter on my own, and have been living on borrowed time with my CP4. I asked Red’s to do the DCR pump conversion from S&S Diesel, check my work to make sure I didn't miss anything, and find/fix my mystery oil leak, secretly assuming I had a bad upper valve cover gasket due to location. After talking with Dustin, discussing timelines and “shooting the bull” about Ford maintenance woes, I called Red’s back the next day (after I slept on it) and asked them to add a new water pump & new vacuum pump replacement as well. There was no “pressured recommendation” and no attempt to upsell, he just got back to me on a price and said it would only slip the timeline maybe a day. Then the “bad” news came- my mystery oil leak was the injector O-rings leaking, 5 of the 8. We talked the good and bad, and we ended up replacing all 8. We both feared the fuel injectors themselves may be bad as well, but thankfully they were still good (another chance to sell parts & labor, but they remained honest). This additional job also slipped my truck only by 1 more day, which is incredible (to 8 days total). Walked off only paying $2.4K (as I provided the DCR pump myself), best money I have spent in a long, long time. I ended up replacing my intake piping, EGR cooler, & Radiator Upper Coolant hose myself a couple weeks later (was still good, just needed to be done) and was just really impressed at how clean & professional Red’s work was. Completely clean and dry engine still. Will never go anywhere else in ABQ. Dustin was easy to talk too, and his team is just a hard working crew making their living. Literally can’t ask for anything more. Thanks Guys! I'll see you next time!

Good shop, good guys. They didn't find the source of my mysterious oil leak but tried hard and also fixed a couple other things. Only had to wait about a week. I will be back for whatever my F250 7.3 needs.
