Powers-Swain Chevrolet Service Introduce

Powers-Swain Chevrolet Service, located at 4709 Bragg Blvd, Fayetteville, NC 28303, USA, operates as the service department of a larger Chevrolet dealership. Categorized under "Auto Repair Stations," this facility provides a wide range of maintenance and repair services, primarily for Chevrolet vehicles, but often extending to other makes and models. As a dealership service center, it aims to offer comprehensive support for vehicle owners, from routine maintenance to more complex diagnostics and repairs, often emphasizing the use of genuine OEM parts and factory-trained technicians.

The environment at Powers-Swain Chevrolet Service is designed to cater to customers awaiting vehicle service. It features a customer lounge equipped with amenities such as free Wi-Fi, television, and coffee, providing a comfortable space for patrons to relax while their vehicles are being serviced. This focus on customer comfort is a common characteristic of dealership service centers. The facility itself would consist of a large service bay area with multiple lifts and specialized diagnostic equipment necessary for modern vehicle repair. However, customer experiences suggest that while the physical amenities might be present, the operational environment can sometimes be inconsistent, particularly concerning communication and adherence to scheduled appointments.

Powers-Swain Chevrolet Service offers a comprehensive suite of automotive services typical of a modern dealership service department. These services include:

  • Routine Maintenance: This encompasses essential services like oil changes, tire rotations and balancing, tire pressure checks, fluid checks and top-offs, and windshield wiper replacements.
  • Vehicle Diagnostics: Utilizing specialized equipment to identify and troubleshoot issues with various vehicle systems, including engine, transmission, electrical, and computer systems. However, customer feedback indicates potential challenges with the timely provision of diagnostic services.
  • Brake Services: Full inspection, repair, and replacement of brake components, including brake pads, rotors, and drums.
  • Battery Testing and Replacement: Ensuring the vehicle's battery and charging system are in optimal condition.
  • Annual State Inspections: Performing necessary vehicle inspections to comply with state regulations, as noted by a positive customer review.
  • Genuine OEM Parts: A key feature of dealership service, they emphasize the use of authentic Chevrolet OEM parts for repairs and replacements, aiming to maintain vehicle integrity and warranty.
  • General Mechanical Repairs: Beyond routine maintenance, they handle various repair needs, ranging from minor issues to more significant mechanical problems, though specific complex repairs like sunroof leaks or catastrophic engine failures on non-Chevy vehicles have been met with challenges, as per customer reviews.
Their website also highlights their expertise in servicing all Chevy models, regardless of age, underscoring their dedication to the Chevrolet brand.

The features of Powers-Swain Chevrolet Service present a mixed bag, as evidenced by varied customer feedback.

  • Customer Lounge Amenities: The provision of free Wi-Fi, TV, and coffee in the customer lounge is a positive feature, enhancing the waiting experience for customers.
  • Experienced Technicians: They promote their mechanics and technicians as having "decades of combined experience working on Chevy models" and being "factory-trained, GM-certified," which instills confidence in their technical capabilities.
  • Service Specials: The dealership actively offers "many service specials throughout the year," including monthly and weekly deals, to help customers save money on maintenance and repairs. This is a significant promotional feature.
  • Genuine Parts: The exclusive use of genuine OEM parts for Chevrolet vehicles is a key feature for owners concerned about maintaining their vehicle's original specifications and warranty.
However, several negative features are consistently highlighted by customer reviews:
  • Inconsistent Scheduling and Delays: Multiple reviews describe frustrating experiences with scheduled appointments not being honored, significant delays in diagnostics and repairs (sometimes weeks or months), and lack of estimated completion times.
  • Lack of Communication: A recurring complaint is poor communication from the service department. Customers often have to initiate follow-up calls and sometimes do not receive updates for extended periods, even after dropping off their vehicles.
  • Unwillingness to Address Related Issues: One critical review mentions the service department refusing to work on a car due to cracked glass (a "liability issue") and not offering to arrange glass repair, requiring the customer to handle it separately before rescheduling. This indicates a potential lack of integrated service solutions for non-mechanical issues.
  • Questionable Diagnostic Practices / Incomplete Repairs: Some customers reported issues where the check engine light was not properly addressed, or initial repairs were incomplete, requiring return visits.
  • Unexpected Charges: While not directly mentioned in the provided text, a common concern with dealerships can sometimes be unexpected costs or upselling, though it's not explicitly confirmed here.
These inconsistencies in service delivery and communication are significant considerations for potential customers.

Powers-Swain Chevrolet Service actively promotes its services through various channels. They highlight their "Parts & Service Specials" on their website, which include rebates on specific parts like struts, shocks, brake rotors, and tire pressure monitor sensors. They also offer "Multi-Point Vehicle Inspection" with every service visit, a value-added feature. They emphasize their convenient location, easy hours of operation, and their commitment to helping customers save money on maintaining and repairing their vehicles. The dealership also offers services like shuttle vehicles for customer convenience, as noted in a positive review. For service inquiries or to schedule an appointment, customers can contact them at (910) 728-4619 or +1 910-728-4619. While they aim to provide a premium service experience, the objective overview of customer feedback indicates that prospective clients should be prepared for potential challenges related to scheduling and communication, despite the available amenities and a generally well-regarded technical expertise for Chevrolet vehicles.

Powers-Swain Chevrolet Service Customer Reviews

I scheduled for diagnostic, had car towed for appointment. They were unable to provide diagnostic service at time scheduled. After following up for about a week they finally looked at the car but said they could not service due to cracked glass on rear hatch, stating it was a liability issue to work on car with cracked glass. They did not offer to arrange glass repair and said they don't repair glass. I had glass repaired and rescheduled diagnostic, they again were unable to perform diagnostic on day scheduled. I followed up on phone and they did not confirm an estimated time for service.

Annual state inspection. I called my service advisor and requested an early morning appointment. I was able to get an appointment at 0800 hrs, I waited and enjoyed the free wifi in the customer lounge along with Tv and coffee. I wait time was short; approximately 30 minutes , and I was out and on my way with a multi -inspection that was favorable also.

Waste of time! Scheduled an appointment at this dealership for a brake service. The receptionist had no had no idea what he was doing by the way! Just to wait around for 3 hrs to be told "we cant change your brakes because of your aftermarket wheels". Black Widow Silverado's come off the lot lifted with aftermarket wheels, what's the difference. Should've told me it couldn't be done when I pulled up.

Took my car in for a safety inspection. Didn't need an appointment for a safety inspection. Since it is a Bolt EV, I only paid $13.00 and no emissions check was required. Didn't take very long. Great service.

I always bring my truck to get serviced here. They get us in and out in a decent time. We're on our way before my kids can start getting restless, always a plus!
