PineDog Automotive Introduce

PineDog Automotive, located at 1000 E Laurel St Unit A, Fort Collins, CO 80524, primarily functions as a "U-Haul Neighborhood Dealer," integrating its services within the broader "Auto Repair Stations" platform category. While the name "Automotive" suggests a wider range of car repair, available online information indicates their core business revolves around providing moving trucks, trailers, and towing equipment for rent, along with associated moving supplies. This positioning within "Auto Repair Stations" signifies their role in offering essential vehicle-related services and goods for sale, albeit with a stronger emphasis on moving and transportation solutions rather than comprehensive mechanical repairs. It's important for local users to understand this primary focus when considering their automotive needs.

The environment at PineDog Automotive, typical of a U-Haul neighborhood dealer, would prioritize functionality and accessibility for rental services. You would expect to see a lot dedicated to U-Haul trucks and trailers of various sizes. The office area would be where customers complete rental agreements and access moving supplies. Online reviews suggest that the facility might be described as "filthy and stinky" by some, indicating that while functional for its primary purpose, it may not present the pristine environment typically associated with a traditional full-service auto repair shop. The focus is on quick transactions for moving equipment. Operating hours are designed for convenience, being open Monday-Friday: 8 am - 7 pm, Saturday: 8 am - 5 pm, and Sunday: 10 am - 4 pm, with a 24-hour customer return option. This reflects a business structured around the demands of moving and rental services.

The services offered by PineDog Automotive are heavily weighted towards U-Haul rentals and related provisions. Their primary services include:

  • **Moving Truck Rentals:** Providing a range of U-Haul trucks for various moving needs, from small cargo vans to larger box trucks.
  • **Trailer Rentals & Towing:** Offering a selection of trailers, including cargo, utility, car, and motorcycle trailers. They are also listed as a U-Haul hitch installer.
  • **Moving Supplies:** Selling hundreds of products to facilitate moving, such as boxes, packing tape, moving blankets, and dollies.
  • **Propane Service:** Providing propane refills.

While their primary services are centered around moving, the classification as an "Auto Repair Station" might imply some basic automotive assistance. However, based on available information, any direct "car repair" services beyond U-Haul's specific offerings (like hitch installation) are not explicitly detailed and customer feedback regarding mechanical repairs is scarce or negative, with one review mentioning "safety concerns" and questioning whether basic light checks were performed after a trailer rental. Therefore, it is prudent for local users to consider PineDog Automotive primarily for their moving and rental needs, and to verify any specific general automotive repair capabilities directly with the business.

Several features define the operation of PineDog Automotive, particularly as a U-Haul Neighborhood Dealer. A key feature is their **convenience and accessibility** as a local U-Haul pickup and drop-off point, including a 24-hour customer return option. This makes them a practical choice for individuals and families in Fort Collins requiring moving solutions. They offer a **wide selection of U-Haul equipment**, from trucks and trailers to moving supplies, aiming to be a one-stop shop for basic moving needs. The **ease of online enrollment** for U-Haul services through their "No-Call Install" process (as a LifeSafer Ignition Interlock provider, which often co-locates with U-Haul dealers) indicates a lean towards digital convenience for certain services. Customer reviews regarding the U-Haul rental experience itself are mixed; some highlight "very helpful and friendly associates" and "easy drop off," indicating positive customer service for the rental process. However, other reviews regarding the facility itself or pricing for specific rentals have been critical, suggesting variability in the overall customer experience. As an "Auto Repair Station," their defining feature is their role as a local point for vehicle-related rental equipment and basic towing provisions, rather than a full-fledged mechanical repair shop. The presence of LifeSafer Ignition Interlock installations also adds a specific service feature related to vehicle use and compliance, often leveraging the automotive space available at such locations.

Promotional information for PineDog Automotive primarily revolves around U-Haul services. Common promotions available to local users would include U-Haul's standard offerings, such as:

  • **Guaranteed Same-Day Installation** for ignition interlock devices (if applicable through their LifeSafer partnership), or a first month free if not met.
  • **Flexible rental options** for moving trucks and trailers, including one-way and in-town rentals.
  • **Competitive pricing** on U-Haul's extensive selection of equipment and moving supplies.
  • Information about various **U-Haul services** like self-storage, U-Box containers, and hitch installation, which are implicitly promoted through their dealer status.

These promotions would typically be communicated through the U-Haul website, local U-Haul advertising campaigns, and potentially through in-store signage. Given the nature of their business, PineDog Automotive might also engage in local marketing efforts through community listings or online directories to attract customers seeking moving services. However, specific direct promotions for traditional "car repair" or maintenance services are not readily apparent from available public information. Local users are encouraged to visit the U-Haul website or directly contact PineDog Automotive via phone at (970) 495-0089 to inquire about current rates, availability, and any specific promotions related to their moving and basic vehicle-related service offerings. The focus of their promotional efforts aligns with their primary role as a U-Haul dealer, providing convenience and equipment for those in the midst of moving or needing to transport items with a vehicle.

Christian is the BEST!! Extremely helpful, patient, and easy to talk to. I was feeling nervous about the service needed on my car and he put me completely at ease, explained everything to me, and then guided me through the process step by step. There is also a very sweet cat who wanders around the shop and is an excellent companion when waiting for your appointment! I will never go anywhere else in town, and cannot recommend this place enough!

Worst experience with U-Haul and this location. Our reservation was changed to this further location for us , then we were told we could return to the location closer to us which was a LIE. And then for our Girl Scout troop were double charged !!! No help from either location or U-HAUL as a business

A more patient and understanding mechanic simply will not be found anywhere. Installing an interlock is frustrating. It's even more so when you're utterly unable to produce anything but an abort like I am. Regardless of my multitude of failures, they ensured all problems were addressed and any maintenance was done in good time. Highly recommend.

These guys just sold us a car with a bad engine. My 17 year old daughter saved for over 6 months only to be crushed by this situation. $3,000 lost. We aren’t a family that can just go out and buy her a new one unfortunately . They advertised it as RUNNING GREAT, WITH NO ISSUES. That couldn’t have been farther from the truth. Was later told my mechanic that any automotive technician; like they claim to be would have known this. The oil was almost sludge, even though they claimed a fresh oil change. They put a thick oil in it to hide the noise. Scammers. Metal in the oil/engine killed the car only two days after purchase. Now the won’t return my messages or calls. They have made ZERO effort to try and make things right. I gave them every opportunity with several calls and messages, to no avail. DO NOT TRUST THESE GUYS. Neither Aaron nor his son Aiden Moore have even tried to reach out. Sad shady operation is this pine dog automotive.

I had my Interlock put in. When I took it to the shop to have it put in my 2004 Acura TL, drove and ran perfectly. They had it for three hours, and my car would barely drive out of the shop. When I went to pick up my car, he had claimed that I needed a new battery, which was funny because it was starting just fine, but it was not shifting and the transmission was jolting. But I went along with it anyways and I went and got a new battery. After that was not the case he said that it could need a new alternator. But at this point, I could not see any of those being the issue of a transmission not shifting. And all of a sudden that going out within the three hours of being at his shop. So at the end of the day I ended up leaving my car there. Until we could come up with a conclusion on what he was going to do to make it right. Which he did not do. So I ended up with a messed up car, that he did not want to take responsibility for messing up not to mention my check engine light was on my transmission light was flashing. The ABS light was on along with the brake light. Which none of those were on to begin with. this is a very bad company. It shows that he has a five star rating online but I’m pretty sure those reviews are his own. SO PLEASE BE AWARE AND DONT USE THIS GUY. PINE DOG AUTOMOTIVE
