Nofsinger's Auto Repair Customer Reviews

Such a great place with fair prices. Brought my fiance's car for an oil change, and now I'll bring mine too. My mother was buying a used Honda and Nofsinger's Auto Repair checked it beforehand. Very professional people, and always on time. Definitely recommend.

Reasonable and Trustworthy. Need I say more? I've used them used them a few times now and they were awesome every time. I told my neighbor down the street, and he tells me that's the only place he takes his truck. It's actually a pleasure to deal with the guys at Nofsinger's.

My family has been coming here for close to 20 years. They are absolutely the best. Dave saved me thousands at one point by telling me my car had an extended warranty on the subframe. My car had some crazy electrical issues and mopar no longer made the part needed. Dave fabricated that part for me after checking junkyards for it. Another time I thought some things were weird so I stopped by on my way home. I was told the problem was not safe to be on the road and they were glad I made it there. Everyone will call and go over options and prices with you before the work starts. Always honest. Super fast work despite having so many customers. Plus Dave always asks how the rest of the family is doing. Best auto shop around!

Dave and team are the best mechanics I’ve worked with. Superior work at a fair price. We use them exclusively, from everything from oil changes to engine repairs. They are so good that I have family drive from Gurnee, IL to have their car serviced by Dave and crew. I drop my car off. They diagnose the issue and call me with an update. I pick up my car and it runs perfectly. I’ve never had a call back. The job is done right the first time. And, they don’t sell me on unnecessary repairs. A+

A Tale of Two Shops – just one example of how great Nofsinger’s has been over the years, as Dave is always quick to consult or scan my cars even when busy, and has always been more than reasonable. Using technology many independent shops lack, Dave diagnosed my intermittent airbag light as a failing clock spring and then determined that Hyundai had a problem with the part so I might be able to get it repaired free at a dealership. No charge from Dave. Sure enough, I found a technical service bulletin and an extension of the warranty to 15 years. This should be the end of the story, but you can always count on dealers to make Nofsinger’s look good. I booked a service appointment at a dealership in Villa Park (also reviewed) and insisted that they have the part in stock by the time I came so I wouldn’t have to go twice. Short version: They didn’t have the part but didn’t tell me until I’d been there 2.5 hours waiting for an oil change I’d added and an open recall (underbody treatment) I’d agreed to only because I thought I was getting it all over with at once. On top of that, the service writer told me the job would cost $700 when the part came in. Gee, I wonder where dealers get their bad reputations? After I pushed back, he scurried off to a manager and then returned to confirm there would be no charge, but there was never anything close to an apology. I never went back. I got the part for $27 and installed it myself literally in 20 minutes. If I’d gone back to Nofsinger’s (where they’re always patient with my DIY endeavors), I guarantee it wouldn’t have cost $700. Or $200. They can do way more than you think, and if they can’t, they admit it.
