Moss Bros. Auto Parts Introduce
For vehicle owners and independent repair shops in San Bernardino, California, accessing a reliable source for automotive components is essential for both routine maintenance and more complex repairs. Moss Bros. Auto Parts, located at 1100 S E St, San Bernardino, CA 92408, functions as a crucial entity within the "Auto Repair Stations" category, specifically focusing on the sale of auto parts and potentially providing related diagnostic services. As part of a larger dealership group, it's expected to primarily serve the parts needs for specific vehicle brands, often Dodge, Chrysler, Jeep, and Ram, given its association with a Dodge dealership.
The environment at Moss Bros. Auto Parts, as part of a larger dealership network, is typically designed for both efficiency and customer interaction. Customers would generally find a designated parts counter where they can inquire about and purchase components. The space would likely be well-organized, with shelves and storage for a vast inventory of parts. This professional setting aims to facilitate quick and accurate part identification and retrieval. However, it's important to consider customer feedback when discussing the environment. One review explicitly describes a "ridiculous" waiting time for a "battery diagnostic," implying potential issues with service speed or customer flow at certain times. Another highly negative review details a significant dispute over a transmission diagnostic and subsequent repair, suggesting a breakdown in trust and communication with certain staff members, particularly a "lot manager" and "service writer." These reviews highlight that while the physical environment might be professionally set up, the customer service experience and operational efficiency can vary. A well-managed auto parts center strives for a clean, orderly, and customer-friendly environment, but the perception of this environment is heavily influenced by the quality of interactions with staff and the efficiency of the service provided.
Moss Bros. Auto Parts, as an entity within the "Auto Repair Stations" category, primarily offers a comprehensive range of automotive parts and related services for sale. Their core offerings typically include:
- Genuine OEM Parts: A primary focus would be on providing original equipment manufacturer (OEM) parts for the brands they represent (e.g., Dodge, Chrysler, Jeep, Ram). These parts are designed to meet factory specifications, ensuring perfect fit and performance.
- Aftermarket Parts: While OEM parts are emphasized, they may also stock or order high-quality aftermarket components that offer a more economical alternative for certain repairs, though this is less common for dealership parts centers.
- Common Replacement Parts: This includes a wide array of frequently needed items such as oil filters, air filters, brake pads and rotors, spark plugs, belts, hoses, batteries, and lighting components.
- Larger Components: Availability of major components like alternators, starters, water pumps, radiators, and potentially transmission assemblies or engine components for order.
- Accessories: A selection of vehicle-specific accessories, such as floor mats, cargo organizers, body kits, and performance upgrades.
- Parts Diagnostics: As indicated by the customer review mentioning a "battery diagnostic," they likely offer diagnostic services to help customers identify which part needs replacement. This service is crucial for ensuring the correct part is purchased.
- Technical Assistance: Staff at a dealership parts center are typically knowledgeable about vehicle systems and can assist customers in identifying the correct part numbers and offer advice on compatibility.
- Order Services: For parts not immediately in stock, they would provide efficient ordering services, ensuring timely delivery.
The second customer review details a significant issue involving a transmission purchase and subsequent diagnostic and reflash attempt. This indicates that their services can extend beyond just selling parts to include a role in diagnosing issues related to parts they've sold, and potentially coordinating with a service department for complex procedures like transmission reflashing, which blurs the line between a pure "parts store" and a broader "auto repair station."
Several features define Moss Bros. Auto Parts. Their primary feature is undoubtedly their focus on providing genuine OEM parts for specific vehicle brands, ensuring compatibility and manufacturer-backed quality. This is a significant advantage over generic auto parts stores for owners of these specific vehicle makes. The availability of knowledgeable staff who can assist with parts identification is another key feature, though customer experiences may vary, as highlighted in the provided reviews. The ability to order parts not immediately in stock is also a standard and important feature for a comprehensive parts center. However, it is crucial to address the features perceived negatively by customers. The "ridiculous 2-3 days, to get a battery diagnostic" suggests issues with diagnostic service turnaround times or scheduling. More significantly, the detailed complaint about the transmission diagnostic and subsequent issues with "fraudulent claims" and an unhelpful "lot manager" points to potential concerns regarding service integrity, transparency, and customer dispute resolution. The claim of being "ripped off" and that they "never made it right" are very serious allegations that detract from what would otherwise be positive features of a parts center. The phrase "clearly this is who pushed the service writer to make the false claims" implies a systemic issue in how certain customer service issues are handled or how diagnostic information is communicated. For a location at 1100 S E St, San Bernardino, CA 92408, their phone numbers (909) 884-8255 and +1 909-884-8255 serve as direct contact points.
Regarding promotional information, specific, continuously running promotions for Moss Bros. Auto Parts are not explicitly detailed in the provided information. However, as part of a larger dealership group, Moss Bros. typically engages in various promotional strategies common to the automotive industry:
- Parts Specials: Dealerships often run monthly or seasonal specials on common maintenance parts like oil filters, air filters, brake pads, and batteries.
- Accessory Discounts: Promotions on vehicle-specific accessories, such as floor liners, cargo management systems, or exterior enhancements.
- Service & Parts Bundles: Discounts might be offered when parts are purchased and installed by the dealership's service department.
- Online Coupons: Many dealerships post digital coupons for parts and service on their official websites.
- Rebates: Manufacturer-backed rebates on certain OEM parts (e.g., brakes, tires) are common.
Given the mixed customer feedback, any promotional information would need to be considered in conjunction with a user's own due diligence. While promotions might entice customers, the long-term reliability and trustworthiness of the service, which is being questioned by some reviews, would be a more significant factor for many. It is always advisable for potential customers to directly contact Moss Bros. Auto Parts via phone or check their official dealership website for the most current promotional offers and to inquire about their policies regarding diagnostics and dispute resolution before making significant purchases or engaging in complex services.
In conclusion, Moss Bros. Auto Parts operates as a specialized "Auto Repair Station" in San Bernardino, CA, primarily focused on providing genuine OEM automotive components, particularly for Dodge, Chrysler, Jeep, and Ram vehicles. Their environment is designed for efficient parts distribution, and their services extend to helping customers identify the correct parts and potentially offering related diagnostics. Key features include their OEM parts specialization. However, it is imperative for potential customers to be aware of the negative customer feedback regarding service timeliness, diagnostic accuracy, and customer resolution processes, as these issues significantly impact the perceived quality and trustworthiness of the facility. While promotional offers may exist, a thorough inquiry into their service practices and customer satisfaction record is recommended before engaging with them for critical parts or diagnostic needs.

This place ripped me off, they never made it right. I had a 2005 charger with a new transmission, that I purchased from moss Brothers in riverside. Chargers transmission requires a calibration reflash. I was told any dealer could do this. Left my car with moss Brothers to be reprogram but received a call that my new transmission was bad. In total I waisted 400 dollars to tow and reflash the transmission at another Dealership. The other dealership made no claim of bad transmission, they did say there is no signs that the line pressure was checked. Secondly I was able to drive the car home after the reflash that moss Brothers claimed they did. I drove the car to back to moss Brothers to call them out as to why they make fraudulent claimed and try to rip off customers for 7,000 on a good new transmission. Lot manager was a jerk clearly this is who pushed the service writer to make the false claims. It been 5 years they never made it right seriously a bunch of scam artist work at this dodge dealership

Marlene at wholesale parts is very rude and not people friendly at all. I would personally recommend she not answer the phone if she’s going to be having attitude. I call this dealer often as my job does a lot of business, but today I personally felt like my business was not important to them. Will definitely be calling other dealerships from now on

I am done with Moss Bros in San Bernardino. They can never get things of a situation right while leaving me to be in danger when giving me back my vehicle. I recently dropped my car off to get it repaired on Tuesday 3-19-24. I went out of town & got a phone call about the problem & cost of every. I told them to “not touch it and when I come back in town I will pick it up” I got my car back Monday 3-25-24 drove off to find something is not right. I get home an pop open the hood of my car to see that I have “hoses loose, my steering cap is broken an placed on top nonsealed and can not lock, coolant jog cracked, and plenty of loose screws on my motor. Wow!! I go in 3-30-24 to talk with a manager that didn’t help me at all with a lot of wasted time. I have not been compensated and I am not a very much happy client. I’m not sure what goes on in the mechanic area of the place but it looks like they do bad business and write a lot of lies on paper to print out so they can’t help you with the matter. This is not a good place of business and I do need to talk with the head manager.

Absolutely horrible service at this moss bros from Steve Sanchez. I left this place not wanting to come back ever! And it’s not just me, he was treating the people in front of us this way too! Such a cold person, making faces when I would ask him anything, I tried to ask a question to lighten up the mood and no response. This is the fifth time I’ve been here and every time this Steve Sanchez guy attends me, I end up leaving the store feeling bad! The other time a younger guy was there I enjoyed my experience. I dont expect much but just respect and Steve does NOT even give that. What horrible customer service! Not sure if it’s steve but thats what it said the name was on the paper of what i bought. Hes a bearded guy working the front desk.
