Mission Auto Care Introduce
Mission Auto Care, located in Tucson, AZ 85713, is an auto repair station providing a range of services for various vehicles. With phone and mobile contact options at (520) 889-3111, the facility aims to cater to the automotive needs of the local community. As an auto repair station, they provide essential services and goods for sale related to vehicle maintenance and repair.
Mission Auto Care operates as a traditional auto repair shop, where customers typically bring their vehicles for service. The general atmosphere of such establishments usually involves a reception area for customer interaction, and a garage or bay area where technicians perform repairs. While specific details about their waiting area or facility amenities are not provided in the given information, the nature of a dedicated auto repair shop implies a structured environment for vehicle servicing.
Customer experiences with Mission Auto Care, however, present a mixed picture. Some reviews highlight significant concerns regarding communication, pricing transparency, and vehicle release. For instance, one customer explicitly states, "He would not give my car back so I lost out on a car," and mentions being asked to pay $1500 just "to drop the trans and put it back in" for a gasket issue, without actually fixing it. This reviewer strongly advises, "DONT TRUST THIS GUY" and labels the individual as a "scam artist." Another similar review corroborates issues with estimated pricing, stating, "Ask the guy three times for an estimated price I called him the first time he got mad yelled at me and told me that he would call me when he had anything. I called him again and asked him what it would be how much could not give me a price then the next day calls me and tells me it’s $800 to drop the transmission and then I need to pay for it." These accounts suggest potential challenges in transparent communication and upfront cost estimation, which are critical for building customer trust in the auto repair industry.
Conversely, there is a notably positive review that paints a different picture, particularly concerning specialized vehicle repair. A customer with a 31' motorhome expressed extreme gratitude, stating that Mission Auto Care "helped us out – looked at it, showed us what Winnebago part was leaking, and once we had the part in hand, we went back and they squeezed us in amongst their other jobs, to get us back on the road." This customer "felt they were exceptionally honest!" This contrasting feedback indicates that while some customers have had very negative experiences, others have found the service to be highly accommodating and honest, especially in less common repair scenarios. This suggests a potential variance in customer experience, possibly depending on the specific service requested or the individual staff members involved. It's important for potential customers to consider these varied perspectives when evaluating Mission Auto Care.
As an auto repair station, Mission Auto Care is expected to offer a general range of automotive repair and maintenance services. Based on the customer reviews, specific services mentioned include:
- Transmission Diagnosis and Repair: Reviews directly mention "transmission problems" and the process of "drop the trans" for inspection, indicating they handle transmission-related issues.
- Gasket Replacement: One review specifically mentions a "gasket" issue, suggesting they address common engine or transmission gasket failures.
- Motorhome Engine Inspection and Repair: The positive review highlights their capability to inspect and facilitate repairs for a 31' motorhome engine, including identifying specific leaking parts. This indicates a specialized ability to handle larger and less common vehicle types, which is a notable service offering for the Tucson area.

General Automotive Repairs: While not explicitly detailed in the provided snippets, as an "Auto Repair Station," Mission Auto Care would typically provide a suite of services including, but not limited to:
- Engine diagnostics and repair
- Brake system inspection and repair
- Suspension and steering services
- Oil changes and routine maintenance
- Tire services (rotation, balancing, replacement)
- Electrical system diagnosis and repair
- Heating and air conditioning (HVAC) services
The fact that they were able to assist with a large motorhome on short notice speaks to a level of flexibility and capacity to handle diverse vehicle types and potentially urgent situations.
The features of Mission Auto Care, as gleaned from the provided information, present a dichotomy:
- Capacity for Large Vehicles: The ability to accommodate a 31' motorhome, even without an appointment, is a notable feature, indicating they may have the necessary space or equipment for larger commercial or recreational vehicles.
- Potential for Quick Turnaround (in some cases): The motorhome review suggests they were able to "squeeze us in amongst their other jobs" to get the vehicle "back on the road" once the part was in hand, implying efficiency and a willingness to prioritize urgent travel needs.
- Mixed Reputation for Honesty and Communication: This is a critical point. While one customer lauded them as "exceptionally honest," other reviews sharply contradict this, labeling the business as untrustworthy and accusing them of being "scam artists" due to issues with pricing transparency and holding vehicles. This highly varied feedback suggests that consistency in these crucial areas might be a concern.
- Customer Service Experience Varies: The contrast between a technician who "got mad yelled at me" and the gratefulness expressed by the motorhome owner points to a varied customer service experience. Positive interactions, when they occur, are appreciated, especially the flexibility shown with the motorhome.
Based solely on the provided snippets, formal promotional information from Mission Auto Care is not available. However, their implicit promotional efforts would stem from the aspects highlighted by customers:
- Capability with Large Vehicles: The positive motorhome experience serves as a strong, albeit indirect, promotional point for owners of RVs or other large vehicles who may struggle to find accommodating repair shops.
- Flexibility and Willingness to Help: The willingness to assist a traveling motorhome without an appointment is a testament to their flexibility and could attract customers in urgent need of service.
- Word-of-Mouth (Both Positive and Negative): Given the stark contrast in reviews, word-of-mouth is a double-edged sword for Mission Auto Care. While the positive experience promotes trust and reliability for certain situations, the negative experiences regarding pricing and vehicle release would significantly deter other potential customers.
For local users in Tucson, Mission Auto Care presents a complex profile. While they appear capable of handling various vehicle repairs, including larger ones, and can be accommodating in emergencies, the serious allegations of lacking transparency and trust in some customer interactions necessitate careful consideration. Potential clients are advised to conduct thorough inquiries, seek detailed written estimates upfront, and clarify all terms of service before authorizing any work to ensure a satisfactory experience.

We pulled a 31' motorhome into Mission's parking lot (no easy feat!) on the basis on a single phone call with no appointment! ("hey, we're travelling, can you look at our engine?") They helped us out - looked at it, showed us what Winnebago part was leaking, and once we had the part in hand, we went back and they squeezed us in amongst their other jobs, to get us back on the road. We are extremely grateful and felt they were exceptionally honest!

Called Mission Auto this AM and told him that my serpentine belt on my '03 Saturn L200 had broken and asked if they could they get to it today? YES he said. So drove down there around 9 AM, looked around a bit and though the shop was crowded, there wasn't a lot of dirt or oily rag type messes. Lots of cars in the lot though. And at 11:10 he calls me back and tells me it's ready! Head down there, showed me a scrape of paper with $90 written on it and I handed back a $100 bill and said keep the change I was so pleased. To be fair, I did go down there when I dropped it off with my eye looking terrible after retina tear surgery 4 days ago and told him I needed the car for my VA Hospital visit the next day so I may have gotten some sympathy. We'll never know. Anyway, GREAT SERVICE. You should go there.

My Jeep overheated due to a faulty coolant reservoir. The part is not easy to find, especially in the same day. This Garage was resourceful and got me up and running the same day. And I forecasted the price and they were under my budget as well. Super nice people who have earned my business moving forward. Thank you Mission Auto !!!!!!

Awesome place to do business. When we first arrived in Tucson, had our vehicle in several shops and they couldn't seem to fix it. Someone at work recommended this place and they took it in and repaired it properly on the first try. Thank you! Today they replaced the rotors and pads, and another great job! Thank you Pancho!
