Midas Tires Introduce

Midas Tires, located at 1050 E Broadway Rd, Tempe, AZ 85282, USA, functions as an "Auto Repair Stations" facility, offering a range of automotive services with a primary focus on tire and general vehicle maintenance. As part of a larger national chain, this Midas location aims to provide comprehensive car care solutions to local users in Tempe, Arizona.

The services offered by Midas Tires are extensive, covering common automotive needs. These typically include oil changes, tire sales, installation, rotation, and repair, brake services and repair, suspension and alignment services, exhaust system maintenance, and diagnostics for issues like the check engine light. They also handle routine auto maintenance and can replace car batteries and address electrical components. The objective is to be a one-stop shop for basic to moderate car repair and maintenance, promoting a factory-recommended approach to prolong vehicle life. They offer a selection of tire brands, including Michelin, BFGoodrich, Firestone, and Bridgestone, for various vehicle types, including cars, SUVs, trucks, and EVs.

Regarding the environment at Midas Tires, customer experiences vary, painting a mixed picture. While some online reviews for Midas locations generally suggest amenities like a comfortable waiting area and friendly staff, the specific feedback provided for this Tempe location raises significant concerns. One customer's account describes a situation where a staff member seemed "ashamed" when declining a simple tire repair based on an arbitrary age limit for tires, suggesting a potentially rigid policy that may not prioritize immediate customer needs or common repair practices. Another, more severe, review details a substantial financial outlay for motor mount and control arm replacements, only to discover improper installation and the use of aftermarket parts that failed quickly. This suggests a potential lack of thoroughness in inspection and repair, as well as concerns about the quality of parts used. The overall implication from these specific reviews is an environment where customers might encounter challenges in problem-solving and potentially a focus on upselling or specific internal policies over comprehensive, high-quality repair.

The features that Midas Tires typically promotes include a national brand reputation, a wide array of services under one roof, and often, various guarantees or warranties on parts and labor. For instance, Midas generally offers a lifetime guarantee on brake services and sometimes on tires, which could be a significant feature for customers. However, the customer reviews provided highlight a significant discrepancy between these potential features and the actual customer experience. The claim of a "typical try to scam you for money" shop, coupled with the detailed account of improperly installed and low-quality aftermarket parts failing prematurely after a costly repair, directly challenges the notion of reliable features and trustworthy service. The failure to properly connect a battery after a major repair also points to a lack of attention to detail and quality control. While a professional shop should offer proper diagnosis, efficient work, and durable repairs with appropriate parts, the provided experiences suggest that these fundamental features may not always be consistently delivered at this specific Midas location.

From a promotional standpoint, Midas, as a national brand, utilizes various marketing strategies, including online presence, local advertisements, and coupons for services like oil changes and brake pad replacements. They aim to attract customers with promises of affordability, convenience, and reliable service, leveraging the brand's long history in auto care. However, the promotional messaging must be weighed against the direct experiences of customers at this particular 1050 E Broadway Rd, Tempe location. The reviews available online, particularly the ones provided, serve as a potent counter-narrative to standard promotional efforts. The explicit warnings to "steer clear from this place unless you need an oil change" and the account of needing to pay a "proper shop" to fix issues left unaddressed by Midas, or having to spend significantly more money at a "new mechanic" due to faulty repairs and parts, are strong deterrents for potential customers. For local users, these direct, negative experiences would likely overshadow general brand promotions, prompting caution and encouraging them to seek services elsewhere for anything beyond the most basic and low-risk maintenance.

Midas Tires Customer Reviews

Typical try to scam you for money kind of shop. Asked them if they could remove a nail in my tire. The guy couldn’t even see where the nail was and told me he wouldn’t do it on tires over two years old. The guy looked ashamed as he said it, which he should be. Went to a proper shop instead and they were happy to help me out.

paid $5000 to have our motor mounts fixed and replaced, along with our control arms. When we got home, we learned that the battery wasn't connected properly to the car. We had to take it to a different mechanic and found out that the lower mounts weren't even replaced and that the lower motor mounts needed to be replaced but Midas told us the lower mounts were fine. 9 months later, the car is acting up again and it turns out those same motor mounts they replaced were bad because they were after market parts (instead of OEM), along with the control arm. Paid $5000 for it to only go bad after 9 months, now paying another $3000 at our new mechanic for replacements. Steer clear from this place unless you need an oil change.
