McElwain Chevrolet Service

Had an appointment scheduled for 11. Showed up ahead of my scheduled time with the intentions of having an oil change done and a check engine light diagnosed. I already knew what the check engine light was for and had the part, so I didn’t think a diagnosis or repair would take considerably long to do. I get a call around noon telling me they should be done with my vehicle within the hour. Wonderful news, as again I had other plans and just thought this wouldn’t be longer than a two hour ordeal. Another hour goes by and the service guy tells me it’ll be another half hour to do the oil change. I had to decline because I had other things to do. Unfortunately, I’ll have to find somewhere else to service my vehicles at. Not sure why it took an hour to diagnose the issue with my vehicle. I thought the point behind having an appointment was that your vehicle would be worked on at that appointment time. I had poor experiences with dealerships back home in VA and I’m saddened to see the same level of poor customer service at McElwains in PA.

I have got to give a huge shout out to all the staff in the service department here! Especially Coltyon (sp), Mike, and the management! From start to finish they were so professional and caring! When I called to get a price on all around brakes and rotors for my Jeep Grand Cherokee they took my number and looked up the parts specific to my vehicle and called me back with a quote. I scheduled the appointment for service and when they were all said and done they called me to pick it up. However the price had increased from the original quote so I asked about it. The amazing folks down there honored the original quote and were so nice about it. They explained the discrepancy and discovered it was an unfortunate misquote on their price and they STILL did the honorable thing and charged me the better price! I am highly impressed with the customer service I received here and will totally be looking for my next car here too as a result! Thank you!
