Lang Truck & Trailer Services Introduce

Lang Truck & Trailer Services, located at 7515 Ohio River Rd, Portsmouth, OH 45662, USA, is an auto repair station specializing in the service and repair of trucks and trailers. The business can be reached by phone at (740) 574-4243 or mobile at +1 740-574-4243. As a facility primarily focused on larger commercial vehicles, Lang Truck & Trailer Services caters to the specific and often complex needs of the trucking industry, providing maintenance and repair solutions for these heavy-duty machines.

The environment of Lang Truck & Trailer Services, given its specialization in trucks and trailers, would typically comprise a large, industrial-style garage equipped to handle significant vehicle sizes and weights. This would include multiple large bays, heavy-duty lifts, and specialized diagnostic equipment suitable for commercial vehicles. The location on Ohio River Road suggests it is likely situated in an area with easy access for trucks, possibly near major roadways or industrial zones, which is common for truck and trailer service centers. The overall ambiance would be practical and geared towards efficient, heavy-duty mechanical work rather than a consumer-facing retail environment for everyday passenger vehicles. The presence of parts storage for common truck and trailer components would also be a typical feature of such an establishment.

The services offered by Lang Truck & Trailer Services, as evidenced by customer experiences, extend to significant mechanical repairs for commercial vehicles. A notable service mentioned is the replacement of a truck head, which is a major engine repair. This indicates that the garage is equipped for complex and labor-intensive procedures beyond routine maintenance. For an auto repair station specializing in trucks and trailers, services would generally encompass a wide array of heavy-duty repairs. This could include, but is not limited to, engine overhauls and diagnostics, transmission repairs, brake system maintenance and repair, suspension work, electrical system troubleshooting, exhaust system repairs, and potentially fleet maintenance programs. Given the nature of commercial trucking, they would also likely handle DOT inspections, trailer repairs (e.g., axle, suspension, lighting, braking systems), and perhaps even welding and fabrication services for custom needs or structural repairs.

However, customer reviews present a concerning picture regarding the features and reliability of Lang Truck & Trailer Services. One extensive review details a highly negative experience concerning a truck head replacement. The customer's key complaints include a persistent failure to provide an estimate despite multiple requests, leading to a "massive bill" upon completion a month and a half later. More critically, the truck allegedly broke down twice shortly after the repair due to "shoddy workmanship," incurring significant additional costs for towing and subsequent repairs at other shops. The customer claims to have been "bilked out of nearly $20,000" for a repair initially quoted orally at $12,500. Furthermore, requests for an itemized bill were allegedly ignored, and when confronting the owner about charges for re-doing their own faulty work and towing, the owner reportedly reacted with "screaming and cursing," telling the customer to "never bring my truck onto his property again." The review also notes extreme rudeness from a reception staff member, possibly the owner's mother or wife, who offered no assistance to the customer. This feedback suggests significant issues with transparency, communication, quality of workmanship, customer service, and post-repair support.

Another review echoes similar frustrations, stating that the place "has to be the worst for any major repairs on your truck." This customer also experienced significant delays, with a job that "should have taken 7-10 days took almost 30," and a substantial cost increase, from an estimated $6,000 to $8,500, "with no communication." The inability to get updates, being told the "main mechanic is not in or on a road call" when calling for information, further highlights a lack of effective customer communication and project management. This customer explicitly advises others to "AVOID AT ALL COST," even recommending against it for their "biggest enemy."

In terms of promotional information, no direct advertising or marketing materials for Lang Truck & Trailer Services are provided. Businesses in the auto repair station category, especially those serving commercial vehicles, often promote themselves through industry networks, local business directories, and word-of-mouth referrals. They might highlight their expertise in heavy-duty repairs, their capacity to handle large vehicles, or their competitive pricing. However, the overwhelmingly negative customer reviews provided would severely undermine any positive promotional efforts. The detailed complaints about lack of estimates, unexpected high bills, shoddy workmanship leading to repeated breakdowns, poor customer service, and unprofessional conduct from staff and the owner are likely to overshadow any attempts at positive promotion. In fact, these reviews themselves act as a form of powerful, albeit negative, "promotional" information, strongly advising potential customers against using their services. In the commercial vehicle repair sector, reputation is paramount, and such public feedback could significantly impact future business.

In conclusion, Lang Truck & Trailer Services in Portsmouth, OH, is an auto repair station specializing in truck and trailer services. While it appears to offer major repair capabilities, such as truck head replacement, the customer feedback available on the internet paints a consistently negative picture. Recurring themes include a severe lack of transparency regarding costs and estimates, significant delays in service completion, alleged shoddy workmanship leading to subsequent breakdowns, highly unprofessional and abusive customer service, and a general lack of accountability. These issues suggest substantial deficiencies in their operational practices and customer relations. Consequently, based on the provided information, potential customers approaching Lang Truck & Trailer Services should exercise extreme caution and seek detailed, written estimates and clear communication throughout any repair process.

Lang Truck & Trailer Services Customer Reviews

Do not take your truck to this shop. I took my truck in to have a new head put on it. I asked the incompetent owner for an estimate about a dozen times and each time he said 'yeah, yeah, yeah,' I'll send it today. Never got an estimate, just a massive bill once it was completed a month and a half later! The truck broke down from their shoddy workmanship in Mississippi. It cost me $2000 just to get it able to limp back to Kentucky. It broke down in south central Kentucky again. I called them again and they sent a tow truck and took it back to Ohio where their shop is. They stuck me with a $5000 bill even though it was their fault. Ended up bilking me out of nearly $20,000 for a repair that the incompetent owner 'orally' said would be $12,500. I basically begged for an itemization of repairs and never got one. After asking the owner why he was charging me for towing the truck back and re-doing their poor workmanship, he literally screamed and cursed at me! He actually told me to 'never bring my truck onto his property again.' I had to spend EVEN MORE money for their poor workmanship at various other repair shops because they refused to stand behind their work. The old lady who works in reception was extremely rude as well and she's the owner's mother, or wife possibly. When I drove to the shop she offered no help when I was simply trying to figure out whom I needed to talk to. This whole experience was a disaster for me. Please do not take your truck here, for your own sanity!

This place has to be the worst for any major repairs on your truck a job that should have taken 7-10 days took almost 30 and a estimate that was 6,000$ turned into 8,500$ with no communication to me whats so ever would not pick up the phone and when they did would say that they cant give me update because the main mechanic is not in or on a road call.
