Krystal Glass Introduce

Welcome to Krystal Glass, located at 38100 Ford Rd, Westland, MI 48185, USA. As a service provider within the Auto Repair Stations category, Krystal Glass primarily focuses on auto glass replacement services for a variety of vehicles. This introduction aims to provide local users with an objective overview of Krystal Glass based on the available information, which includes a recent customer review detailing their experience.

Based on the limited information available, specifically a single customer review, it is challenging to provide a comprehensive description of the environment of Krystal Glass. The review does not offer insights into the physical premises, waiting areas, or the overall atmosphere of the service location. Therefore, we cannot objectively describe the environment based on the provided data.

Similarly, the specific range of services offered by Krystal Glass can only be inferred from the customer review. The primary service highlighted is windshield replacement. However, the review also touches upon the crucial aspect of vehicle recalibration following windshield replacement, particularly for features like rain sensor wipers. The negative experience shared by the customer suggests that while windshield replacement is a core service, the handling of related technical requirements, such as recalibration and the choice of glass (OEM vs. aftermarket), may be areas of concern. It is unclear from the provided information whether Krystal Glass offers other auto glass services, such as side or rear window replacement or repair of minor chips and cracks.

The key feature, or rather a point of concern raised by the available review, revolves around the type of windshield installed (aftermarket vs. OEM - Original Equipment Manufacturer) and the subsequent recalibration of vehicle systems. The customer explicitly states that after agreeing that recalibration would be necessary, the service provider, identified as Ralph, allegedly refused to perform the recalibration after the windshield was replaced. This resulted in the customer's rain sensor wipers no longer functioning. Furthermore, the customer claims that the use of an aftermarket windshield has made it difficult to find another service provider capable of performing the necessary recalibration. The review also raises potential concerns about the incorrect installation and whether the aftermarket windshield meets the same safety ratings as an OEM windshield.

The single available customer review highlights a significant issue regarding the expertise and practices of Krystal Glass, at least in this particular instance. The points of concern include:

  • Use of Aftermarket Parts: The installation of an aftermarket windshield instead of an OEM one, potentially without fully informing the customer of the implications, is a major point of contention. OEM windshields are manufactured to the exact specifications of the vehicle and are often crucial for the proper functioning of advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS) and safety features.
  • Refusal to Calibrate: The alleged initial agreement to recalibrate followed by a refusal to do so after the installation is a serious issue. Many modern vehicles require recalibration of systems like lane departure warning, automatic emergency braking, and rain-sensing wipers after a windshield replacement to ensure they function correctly.
  • Incorrect Installation and Safety Ratings: The customer's claim that the aftermarket windshield was not installed correctly and may not meet the same safety ratings as an OEM part raises significant safety concerns for potential customers.
  • Impact on Future Serviceability: The difficulty in finding a provider to calibrate the aftermarket windshield underscores a potential long-term issue for customers who opt for this type of replacement.
  • Customer Service Concerns: The customer's negative experience with "Ralph" indicates potential issues with communication, transparency, and the handling of customer expectations.

Currently, there is no promotional information available for Krystal Glass based on the provided data. The single customer review focuses entirely on a negative service experience and does not mention any discounts, special offers, or guarantees.

Given the limited and negative information available, local users considering Krystal Glass for their auto glass replacement needs should be aware of the issues raised in the customer review. Specifically, it highlights the importance of clarifying the type of windshield to be installed (OEM vs. aftermarket) and confirming whether the service includes necessary recalibration of vehicle systems, especially those linked to the windshield, such as rain sensors and ADAS features. It would be prudent for potential customers to inquire about the safety ratings of the replacement glass and the installer's expertise in handling recalibration procedures, particularly if their vehicle is equipped with advanced safety technologies.

The reference to "Tom Holzer Ford" in the review, expressing disbelief that they would allow Krystal Glass to work on their cars, suggests a potential prior or ongoing relationship. This might warrant further investigation by prospective customers, especially those driving Ford vehicles, to understand the nature of this connection and whether it influences the quality or type of service provided.

In conclusion, based on the single available customer review, Krystal Glass in Westland, MI, primarily offers auto glass replacement services. However, the review raises significant concerns regarding the use of aftermarket windshields, the refusal to perform necessary recalibration, potential issues with installation and safety ratings, and overall customer service. Local users should exercise caution and thoroughly inquire about the specifics of the glass being used, the recalibration procedures (if required for their vehicle), and the installer's qualifications before choosing Krystal Glass for their auto glass replacement needs. The lack of positive feedback or promotional information further underscores the need for careful consideration.

Krystal Glass Customer Reviews

Ralph, was terrible to deal with. After he agreed my car would need to be recalibrated after the replacement, once he had the car he refused to calibrate it. Ralph told me that it didn’t need it. Now my rain sensor wipers do not work. I’m now finding no one can calibrate it as he put in an after market windshield, not OEM. It is not installed correctly nor does it have the same safety ratings. I can’t believe Tom Holzer Ford allows him to be the one working on their cars! What a mess. I would stay away and make sure you check for OEM.
