Awesome shop! I’ve brought 3 of my vehicles here and they have done tremendous work! The quality of their work is worth the price! Our 2012 Mazda had vibration issues while driving and other auto shops just said it was an alignment issue and seem to not really care to do a full inspection of the vehicle. So I decided to just look around on Yelp and happen to see John’s Auto in Escondido which is fairly close for me. Brought it over and they did a full inspection, provided pictures of the issues and other concerns, and weren’t pushy but friendly about it. They were completely professional about what needed to be taken cared of and what should be replaced/ repaired down the line. Overall great experience and our Mazda vibration issue was resolved and it’s been over a year and half since then! Overall, great and trust worthy shop!

This place will be my new auto shop. They do everything! I had AAA tow my mother in law’s car to John’s and it was in need of a new alternator, when talking to Michael, who was very polite and helpful, I discovered that John’s can do tires, batteries, smog, and any engine work. This was great because I needed all of it done! John is my one stop shop! And they were very fast. Great experience. I recommend 5 stars

Their service was excellent. They look great care of the car. I really like their inspection system and as far as I can tell they use it properly. I plan to use them again and look forward to confirming they will continue being awesome. Their pricing is affordable and fingers crossed they genuinely are using high quality fluids and parts.

Went for 100k tuneup. They are very friendly and professional on the phone and in person. Quick appointment and good service. All inspections+oil change+filters was about $500 in half day. Parts $ seemed high (like air filter for $45?!) but making myself believe they used good quality parts.. Overall Good!

My decision to visit John's Auto Pros was a MISTAKE! Trusting them with my vehicle ended up costing me over $500 in unnecessary repairs, the loss of 2 1/2 days of work and my vehicle was even held hostage when the mechanics closed the garage while I was being handed my estimate. The owner said they did not have the ability to open the garage until morning. I couldn't even have my keys and I wasn't able to get into my home that night. Last week I visited John's Auto Pros to check out my grinding brakes. The inspection revealed that my pads were low but not the source of the grinding. Myself and my friend heard this and we were told that the problem was a front wheel bearing, an urgent repair that needed to be replaced at a cost of $409. The next morning I contacted John's Auto Pros and told them to proceed with the bearing. They had my car anyway and was being told it was not safe until it was replaced. Only after inquiring, they offered me a free oil change as compensation for the mass inconvenience that I had experienced the night before. It wasn't until close to 5pm. that I got the call that my car was finally ready and when I went to pay I showed them my AAA card and requested the 10% discount that my membership offers. I was told that I could not get the 10% discount since I had already gotten a free oil change. When I inquired with the other owner she told me the same and even had the nerve to tell me that it was my fault my car and keys were locked in the previous night saying that I had arrived too late and my car was taking up space on her lift. Wow... I had arrived exactly seven documented minutes after they had called me and had been waiting half a day to hear from them! Eventually they obliged and gave me the 10% discount that I was entitled to but told me next time to go to Pep Boys! I shrugged and said okay and when I offered to leave a positive review I was told that they prefer I do not.. Okaaay... and let's just say I got out of there quickly. It was only after driving my car several miles that the horrible grinding sound came back just as it existed prior to this $409 repair. I had to take another day off of work the next day and it wasn't until early afternoon that I received a call telling me that the problem was my brakes and that they were only going to charge me $107 more to fix the problem. Only per my Mother's strong request I politely said okay and didn't mention the fact that the inspection two days earlier revealed the brakes were not the cause of the grinding or that I had my pads changed only 8 months earlier and even still had a warranty on them! I waited the rest of the day and as it approached 5 p.m. and I still had not heard from them I became nervous fearing my car being locked in again. It was around 4:45 when I arrived to see my car sitting in the front of the parking lot. I went straight inside and paid them another $107 (which by the way they volunteered included my 10% discount) but everything after this is a little confusing. When I inquired further about what the problem really was, I received a very vague explanation. I definitely heard him tell me "at some point I would need the bearing replaced anyway" (despite the fact that their job was to diagnose and fix the grinding and not a future repair). And while we all knew I didn't need brake pads, I'm still not understanding where this came from. So what was the problem then? Turns out the cause was simply A LOOSE PART. A simple fix with a few twists of a screwdriver ended up costing me $516. If I could only go back in time! I don't like leaving negative reviews however when you visit a mechanic you trust that they are knowledgeable enough to diagnose the problem correctly the first time or accept responsibility and offer to negotiate for their mistake. $517 dollars is a lot of money to pay for nothing and this is just not what you expect when doing business.

I generally get my alignments here and they've always done a solid job. Even on my 26 year old car. I would suggest making an appointment online just to keep things straightforward but their rates are fair and the turnaround is normal. I'll keep coming here for my alignments.

Got a smog cert and a tune up, in and out, no issues. This is a convenient place to have car repairs especially if you don't have a ride as if you live within distance they can provide you transportation. Don't have anything negative to say about the customer service or the work done. If I had one complaint it would be on the parts up charges. That being said I still recommend them to people I know in the area.

Just not a fan. Kinda rude last time I went in. I'm a mechanic that was injured. So I have part I already bought in my garage they would do the work because they didn't get the opportunity to up charge the parts. I didn't care about warranty just didn't want to get crap AutoZone parts and pay dealer prices.
