Features and Customer Experience

The customer reviews provide valuable insights into the operational features and varying aspects of the customer experience at Jim Vetter Chevrolet Service. There are contrasting perspectives:

Points of Concern and Areas for Improvement (Based on Negative Feedback):
  • Customer Service at the Service Desk: One detailed review highlights a negative interaction with "Kevin, the service manager," describing him as "incredibly rude." This suggests that customer-facing interactions, particularly at the service manager level, can be a point of friction.

  • Communication and Flexibility: The customer's attempt to have a check engine light looked at, despite not being pre-scheduled, was met with rigid adherence to protocol. While understanding the need for scheduling, the lack of willingness to assess severity or keep the vehicle, despite the "notes said the light was logged with the cars history and it should go away in a day or so and there is no concern," suggests a potential disconnect in communication and a lack of flexible problem-solving for unexpected issues.

  • Access to Information: The customer felt that if the service manager "would have just looked at the notes that prints out on my receipt he would know what the issue was," indicating a potential breakdown in internal communication or information access for customer-facing staff, leading to frustration.

Positive Features and Exemplary Customer Care (Based on Positive Feedback):
  • Helpfulness and Friendliness: A very positive review describes the people at the dealership as "awesome," "very friendly and helpful," and "down to earth and care about everyone whether they are customers or not." This indicates that a significant portion of the staff is genuinely customer-oriented and willing to assist, even in non-revenue generating situations.

  • Going Above and Beyond (Breakdown Assistance): The story of allowing a stranded motorist to borrow a ratchet to get their old car started, even though it wasn't a paying service, is a powerful testament to their commitment to community and human kindness. This reflects a culture of genuine helpfulness that extends beyond the transactional nature of business.

  • Community Orientation: The act of assisting a non-customer in a moment of need positions the service center as a truly caring and community-minded establishment, which builds strong positive goodwill.

The reviews suggest a dichotomy in customer experience, where the professionalism and helpfulness of some staff members, particularly in situations of genuine need, are highly praised, while others, specifically one service manager, are perceived as unaccommodating. This highlights the importance of consistent customer service across all staff members.

Promotional Information

As a dealership service center, Jim Vetter Chevrolet Service, while not explicitly detailing specific promotional offers in the provided reviews, typically engages in various forms of promotion common to automotive dealerships. These can include:

  • Brake Service Specials: Discounts on brake inspections or replacement parts.

  • Parts and Accessory Discounts: Occasional sales on genuine Chevrolet parts and accessories.

Jim Vetter Chevrolet Service Customer Reviews

Kevin, the service manager was incredibly rude when I came to pick up my truck. I requested that my check engine light get looked at if they had time. The light came on the day before my appointment and didn't have time to give them a warning about it. When I picked up the truck he proceeded to tell me that they scanned the car and I would need to come back on the 30th to get it looked at. I asked what code was returned and how severe it is and if they could just keep the truck so I don't damage it. He went on and on about how it wasn't scheduled and was not part of the oil change and tire rotation that I requested and I can schedule it to be looked at on the 30th. The whole encounter was just strange. I understand that I asked them to do something that I did not schedule and that it was a stretch that they would be able to do anything that day. If Kevin would have just looked at the notes that prints out on my receipt he would know what the issue was. The notes said the light was logged with the cars history and it should go away in a day or so and there is no concern with the engine. Overall, it was the worst experience having to deal with the service manager Kevin for an oil change, tire rotation and a courtesy check engine light check.

These people are awesome. Very friendly and helpful, my old car broke down right in front of the dealer on the side of the highway and I had just taken my tools out of the trunk and put them into my new car. I needed to throw a new battery on so I could drive it the rest of the way to the repair shop, they let me borrow a ratchet, and made sure I was able to get my car started again. These people are down to earth and care about everyone whether they are customers or not.

Ok my check engine light came on so I called and schedule an appointment. When I got there they was kinda rude and acted like I was a problem. Whatever so I went to Applebee's to get a bite while I waited. They called be and asked if I'm from the area I said I'm living in colon now he then said well I seen you I'll. Plates and I don't want to bother with ordering any parts and that there is a Chevy in colon I can go to. Ok so they don't want my business.
