As a part of the community's automotive service network, Jack's Auto Repair aims to provide a variety of repair and maintenance services to keep your vehicle running. We understand the importance of reliable transportation, and our team strives to address your automotive needs. However, it's important to consider a range of customer experiences when evaluating our services.

The environment at Jack's Auto Repair appears to be that of a family-run business, as suggested by one positive review mentioning an "honest family that cares about their work & customers" and the kindness of someone named Nancy. This can often translate to a more personal and direct interaction with the service providers. However, specific details about the shop's facilities, waiting area, or the overall ambiance are not extensively described in the provided reviews.

Jack's Auto Repair offers a range of services to address various automotive issues. Based on the customer experiences, these services include:

  • General Automotive Repair: Addressing a wide array of mechanical problems.
  • Water Pump Replacement: As mentioned in a negative review, this is a service offered.
  • Diagnosis: Utilizing their expertise to identify the cause of vehicle problems, as highlighted in a positive review where Paul thoroughly diagnosed a van's wobble.
  • Engine Repair: Including addressing issues that may lead to overheating, although experiences with the effectiveness of these repairs vary significantly.
  • Air Conditioning Service: Mentioned in a review where a seemingly unrelated issue occurred during this service.

One of the features highlighted in a positive review is the personalized attention and thoroughness of the service provided by Paul. This customer appreciated the time taken for diagnosis, the speed of the repair, fair pricing, and the lack of pressure to purchase unnecessary services. This suggests that some customers have experienced honest and efficient service at Jack's Auto Repair.

However, it is crucial to consider the contrasting experiences shared in other reviews. One customer explicitly advises against using the shop, detailing a situation where a water pump replacement led to engine overheating and a subsequent diagnosis of a blown head gasket, with the customer disputing the cause. This review raises concerns about the quality and effectiveness of the repairs performed.

Another long-term customer, while believing the shop to be honest, expressed dissatisfaction with the quality of work over recent years, citing instances of small issues being created during repairs. This suggests potential inconsistencies in the skill and attention to detail of the service provided. This customer also noted that the prices were not significantly lower than those at a dealership.

Currently, no specific promotional information or discounts are mentioned in the provided reviews. It would be advisable to contact Jack's Auto Repair directly at (310) 313-1293 to inquire about any ongoing specials or pricing for specific services you may require. As the reviews provide mixed feedback on pricing, it's recommended to obtain a clear estimate for any work before it is undertaken.

I’ve driven over 4,000 miles since Paul fixed my van and it’s been so smooth! I was referred to Jack’s Auto when my camper van had a terrifying wobble. Paul was generous with his time & went out of his way to thoroughly diagnose the issue. They worked quickly to get me back on the road. The pricing was fair & I never felt like they were trying to oversell me. Nancy was so kind and easy to work with. This is an honest family that cares about their work & customers. Thank you!

DO NOT USE THIS SHOP! I have never posted a review about a business before, but after my recent experience, I felt the need to warn the public. I came in for a water pump replacement. I had driven the car for several months with the check engine light on, the car ran fine. I just decided it was time to get the light taken care of. Paul fixed it and several other items he said needed to be replaced. I paid $1,600 and drove away only to overheat the engine. After returning 4 times for the same problem, Paul told me that since I overheated the engine, I caused the head gasket to be blown and it would cost me $2,600 to have that repaired. I explained that the car ran fine without overheating before they touched it. He refused to fix the engine. I do believe them to be honest. However, they're just not very good at what they do. I have been a long-time customer and over the last few years, they would break something small during the repair process, for example, the left turn flashing dashboard indicator ( while they were working on the air conditioner). It really didn't bother me much since the car was 15 years old with 250,000 miles, I really didn't care much about the car's appearance. I would sue them, but I don't want to go through the process. In addition, the prices are not that much cheaper than the dealer's. I hope you find a good repair shop.

we had an old dodge caravan to sell and had failed the smog test, we were very lucky to happen on this place where the boss is super nice and understanding even though they are super busy! he helped us to check a lot of things to improve the situation before finally we had to do one repair (instead of possibly two and possibly expensive inspections to find out the root cause) which was reasonably priced and done quickly and we could get our retest without any issue and sold our car successfully (and on time too, two days before we left the country) - i wish all mechanics were like those at this garage! thank you!!

Jack is complacent. He does not stand by his word, or warranty. He put the wrong fluids in my car and caused damage. He said he fixed my engine, even though it "started rough." I paid him $3000 to fix my car to what he said it needed, it took him 6 weeks for what the dealership would have taken them 2 days. The car didn't drive a thousand miles more and now I have an anchor. My families livelihood has now been effected and Jack won't stand by his work unless I pay him $1500 more and the cost may go up. The car worked fine before taking it to him. The dealership reviewed his work and in their professional opinion they felt he may have damaged the engine and that his work was inadequate and harmful to proper functioning. Jack has 30 years of experience in being a swindler in my opinion, and plays the "nice guy" not an "honorable man" in my opinion.

Paul is super cool he saved me a lot of money and is super honest. And honesty is the most important thing for me with a mechanic. He even did extra work on my car that he didn’t charge me for. Great honest mechanic
