Misleading and Dishonest – Stay Away! If I could give Ideal Auto Protect zero stars, I would! This company is SHADY! I feel like I got hustled. Their sales reps are only interested in tricking you into buying with their deceptive tactics and misleading promises. They present the warranty as something comprehensive, but the moment you need to actually use it, they hit you with excuses and hidden terms they never bothered to mention upfront! I feel completely ripped off and lied to. They don’t care about their customers—just the sale. Save yourself the headache and avoid this shady company at all costs!

I am going to start this review off by saying that I work for an independent mechanics shop, and this review is coming from a service writer and shop employee on BEHALF of our customer. Watching this all unfold has been ridiculous, which is why I am taking time out of my day to actually type up this review. Almost every day, we encounter service and repair where a customer is using an extended warranty, exactly the warranty that iDeal Protect claims they sell. Through all of the warranty companies we have used or gone through, iDeal Protect is BY FAR the worst warranty company we have ever dealt with. Without going into detail about the exact repairs our customer was attempting to get covered through this warranty, iDeal basically refused to honor terms that THEY state through their own warranty agreement, and only agreed to PARTIALLY cover the customers issue. This was a huge hassle, because iDeal insisted that we needed to nearly completely break down the engine for their adjuster- just for them to end up not covering it anyway. That being said, they STILL APPROVED a partial payment, and stated that they would be covering ONE item out of a group of parts needed for this customer (which was not a large payout by any means, either). So our shop went ahead with this repair. It has now been OVER A MONTH and we have caught Shaun Michaels in lies, and ignoring our calls and attempts to be paid for this job. We know for a fact we are being ignored purposely. We were told a check was sent to our shop OVER a month ago and there is absolutely no reason an envelope would take this long to get to us two states over from their location in NJ. We have left NUMEROUS voicemails with them, and even threatened to get the law involved and we still cannot get through to anybody or have our calls returned, and we assumed they have flagged the phone number for our shop in order to avoid us. Seriously the most pathetic warranty company we have ever worked with or seen. This company is a total sham and a waste of money. The only time we got through to anybody at iDeal was by using an employee's personal cell phone number (not our shops number) and going to the sales extension. Take this advice from a service shop employee: DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY on this warranty. UPDATE: It has now been a whole month after I posted this review. I have called "Shaun Michaels" about 50+ times, leaving voicemails that he NEVER, EVER returns. Still have yet to be paid for this job- this company is ghosting our repair shop. Today, I attempted to call iDeal's main line rather than Shaun's direct line- and IMMEDIATELY got through to somebody in SALES that claimed she "expedited" the claim, so we will see what happens. Right after I tried the SALES extension, I tried the CUSTOMER SERVICE extension and waited on hold for 10+ mins before being sent to voicemail. This in itself proves how this company is only concerned with selling policies and not intending to actually pay anything out. TOTAL SCAM!!! Coming from a REPAIR SHOP- SAVE YOUR MONEY!!! I have NO IDEA how this place is still in business..... absolutely horrible.

I have an issue with my truck and and it took 3 days to finally talk to someone at Ideal. The dealership had the same issue getting in touch with them just to find out my truck isn't covered for the problem. I've been without my truck for 3 days now

BIG RED FLAG THIS COMPANY IS A SCAM . Got this extended warranty for my Range Rover . the month of getting the warranty I sold the Range Rover and tried to get my $2000. Back before the first 30 days they tried everything to not refund the money. Offered to put the warranty towards my next car which had factory warranty for another 18 months. They offered to start the warranty when my factory warranty ended so I agreed. Fast forward to about 3-5 months of factory warranty ended my ac compressor started acting up the dealership diagnostic for the compressor is going bad and will have to be replaced. The job was going to close to $6000 to complete . So I think ok just get in contact with my extended warranty I know I’m covered it has on there replacement of ac compressor. They sent a claims adjuster to inspect after about two weeks of waiting. To just deny the claim on the count the the ac works sometimes. The dealership explain to them the compressor works at first 2-5 minutes then it will disconnect when it get hot. They stop responding to phone calls and emails. Tried everything. I had to go to there website an try to apply for a new policy to get them to call me thinking they going to rob someone again . seconds of applying for a new policy’s they were calling me for payment to start the policy on my truck . Nick and Shawn are crooks the way they try to sell policies that they will never pay for repairs. I wish I had read up on their reviews before buying. It cost me over six thousand dollars to get my ac repaired. I’m with my lawyers to file a complaint with the BBB and with the states attorney general consumer complaints. Hopefully when this is over they won’t be able to rob and cheat anyone else.

How can this company still conduct business? They have not paid for a claim we previously got authorization on for over 6 months. At this point in time I do not believe we will get payment for repairs on a vehicle we have already performed. DO NOT PURCHASE ANYTHING FROM THIS COMPANY!!!

Do not use this extended warranty company!!!! They promise the world but do not answer the customer line ever any time of day or night. If you call the sales umber you get right through. They want all proof of receipts for services done on the truck since purchase which was 2018. The Auto repair place did not know this for a month. We rented a car for a moth while waiting for them to send out their adjuster which never happened. We ended up paying seven thousand dollars for a new transmission, plus tow fees plus rental car. When my husband asked for a refund on what was left of our policy the said they would send us four hundred dollars if we did not write a bad review. What!!!!!!

Our auto repair facility has had the unfortunate opportunity to work with iDeal Auto Protect. Despite placing over 100 calls, we are consistently redirected to an unanswered voicemail after 3 minutes and 30 seconds. iDeal Auto Protect approved a repair a for a vehicle but has failed to issue payment or respond to our calls, voicemails, or emails. This lack of communication and follow-through has caused significant delays on getting the vehicle repaired and completed.

Buyer beware! They will promise you the world. When it comes time to file a claim they won’t honor it. Joke of a company. I highly recommend not wasting your time or money. You call customer service or claim line and no answer (leave a voicemail). You call the sales line and immediate pick up. Lesson learned the hard way. Stay away!
