I-86 Truck Repair & Auto Service Introduce

I-86 Truck Repair & Auto Service, located at 1739 Lindquist Dr in Falconer, New York, operates within the Auto Repair Stations category, offering services and potentially selling goods related to the repair and maintenance of both trucks and automobiles. While the name suggests a broad scope of service, it is crucial for local users to consider recent customer experiences when evaluating this establishment for their vehicle repair needs. The following introduction aims to provide an objective overview based solely on the publicly available customer reviews, highlighting both potential concerns and the nature of services offered, without introducing any missing information or subjective opinions.

Information regarding the environment of I-86 Truck Repair & Auto Service is not explicitly detailed in the provided customer reviews. However, as a facility offering truck and auto repair, it can be inferred that the premises include service bays equipped to handle vehicles of various sizes, including trucks. Diagnostic tools and equipment necessary for identifying and resolving mechanical and electrical issues would also be expected. A reception area for customer interaction and service inquiries is typical for such establishments.

Based on the limited information available from the two customer reviews, the services offered by I-86 Truck Repair & Auto Service appear to include:

  • Vehicle Inspection: One customer mentioned bringing their truck in a couple of weeks after it had passed inspection at this facility to investigate a noise. This indicates that I-86 Truck Repair & Auto Service is authorized to conduct vehicle inspections.
  • Brake System Repair: The same customer received an estimate for extensive brake work, including front and back rotors, calipers, pads, and lug nuts. While the accuracy of this estimate was later disputed by another mechanic, it suggests that brake system repair is a service offered.
  • O2 Sensor Replacement (Warranty Work): Another customer had warranty work done for an O2 sensor at this location. This confirms that they handle warranty repairs, at least for certain components.
  • Diagnostic Services: The second customer also requested the shop to diagnose a cab noise issue. They were charged a fee for the time spent looking at this and testing O2 sensor wires, even though neither issue was fully resolved. This indicates that diagnostic services are provided, though the customer experience suggests potential concerns regarding the value and outcome of these services.

Several features of I-86 Truck Repair & Auto Service can be objectively identified based on the customer reviews. However, it is important to note that these features are presented within the context of the specific experiences shared, which raise potential concerns for prospective customers.

One notable aspect is their ability to perform vehicle inspections, as mentioned by the first reviewer. This is a standard service offered by many auto repair stations to ensure vehicles meet safety and regulatory standards.

They also handle warranty work, as indicated by the second reviewer's experience with an O2 sensor replacement covered partially by their warranty. This suggests they are familiar with the processes and requirements of warranty repairs.

Diagnostic services are offered, as evidenced by the charges incurred by the second customer for investigating a cab noise and testing O2 sensor wires. However, the outcome of these diagnostic efforts, in this case, was that the issues were not resolved to the customer's satisfaction, despite the fee charged.

The customer reviews also highlight potential areas of concern that local users should carefully consider:

  • Overestimation of Repairs: The first reviewer reported an initial estimate of over $2000 for brake work, which was later found to be significantly inflated by another mechanic who charged only $300 for the actual repair needed (one sticking caliper). This raises questions about the accuracy and honesty of estimates provided by I-86 Truck Repair & Auto Service.
  • Questionable Billing Practices: The second reviewer's experience is particularly concerning. They were initially told they owed a substantial amount for an O2 sensor replacement that was never actually performed. They were then charged a significant sum ($317) for diagnostic work on two issues (O2 sensor wiring and cab noise) that were not resolved. This suggests potential issues with invoicing and the value received for diagnostic fees.
  • Lack of Issue Resolution: In the case of the second reviewer, despite paying for diagnostic services, neither the O2 sensor issue (beyond identifying it as bad, which was already known for the warranty claim) nor the cab noise was resolved. This indicates a potential lack of thoroughness or effectiveness in their diagnostic and repair processes.
  • Customer Dissatisfaction: Both reviews express significant dissatisfaction with the service received, with the first reviewer explicitly stating, "I would not recommend them to anyone," and the second describing their experience as "unbelievable" and advising others not to go there unless they "like to pay people to look at things."

Given the overwhelmingly negative nature of the publicly available recent customer reviews, there is no information to suggest any current promotional offers or features that would typically attract customers. The feedback focuses on negative experiences related to cost estimates, billing practices, and the effectiveness of their services.

Local users in Falconer, NY, seeking auto or truck repair services should carefully consider the experiences shared in these reviews. While I-86 Truck Repair & Auto Service is listed as an option, the feedback suggests potential risks associated with obtaining accurate estimates, receiving effective repairs, and ensuring fair billing practices. It would be prudent to seek additional opinions and potentially consider other auto repair stations in the area with more consistently positive customer feedback.

To contact I-86 Truck Repair & Auto Service, you can call them at (716) 665-2501 or their mobile number +1 716-665-2501. Their physical address is 1739 Lindquist Dr, Falconer, NY 14733, USA. However, based on the available reviews, it is recommended that potential customers exercise caution and conduct thorough due diligence before entrusting their vehicle repairs to this establishment.

In conclusion, I-86 Truck Repair & Auto Service in Falconer, NY, offers vehicle inspection, brake repair (according to an estimate), and handles warranty work and diagnostic services. However, recent customer reviews raise significant concerns regarding potentially inflated estimates, questionable billing practices, and a lack of effective issue resolution. Local users are strongly advised to consider this feedback carefully when making decisions about their auto and truck repair needs in the Falconer area.

I-86 Truck Repair & Auto Service Customer Reviews

I brought my truck in a couple of weeks after they passed it for inspection to check out a noise. They gave me an estimate of over $2000.00 saying I needed front and back rotors, calipers, pads, and even lug nuts. I would not recommend them to anyone. I took it to a honest mechanic. $300.00 was all it cost. I had one sticking caliper and all the lugs were good.

Had warranty work done for an o2 sensor. My deductible was 100$ through my warranty so I figured why not. Also had cab noise I didn’t know where it was coming from and wanted to see if that was also covered or if they could find what it was and where it was. The noise ended up being a creaked seal on my cab lights allowing wind to come through and whistle. O2 sensor ended up being bad also. I got a call saying that the o2 bill was 686$!!!!!! warranty would only cover 150$ and I had to pay the rest. This started to not make sense at all to me. I got into the shop and asked for detailed invoice to help it make sense. Turns out they never did the work so I didn’t have to pay that 530$ bill (thank god). However I went to leave and I had to pay $317 for them to test the o2 sensor wires and to look at my truck to figure out where that noise was coming from. Neither of the issues were resolved and I had to pay $317 dollars. Do not go here unless you like to pay people to look at things. This is unbelievable!!! I’m thankful that’s all I had to pay but get real. Also calling NVP warranty to get into another shop of my choice as this is max a 120$ job with parts.

Awesome place! Found this place by chance right when they were needed most. Took my truck to them after it went into reduced power mode and my dash lit up like a christmas tree. They have skilled reliable mechanics and some fantastic customer service and very reasonable prices. Had me back on the road within the day. I will rely on their services again. Thank you I86 Truck & Auto.

I haul milk out of Pennsylvania/New York and while backing into my last stop (with a full load,) I blew a pressure line from my power steering pump.. LUCKILY I WAS CLOSE TO I-86 Truck and Auto Repair! The guys down there went above and beyond to accommodate me and get me moving down the road. Although they had a full line up of work to do, and were 2 mechanics short that day, they got me out of there within an hour! Rick at the front desk was very professional, courteous, and knowledgeable. Justin and Mike are Top Shelf when it comes to the repair industry, the way they worked together as a team and got me back on the road so quickly was really amazing to see.. Too many people are just getting through each day but these guys seem like they love what they do and it shows in their work! They did a great job and I 100% would stop there again if i had any issues or needed to schedule maintenance.

I am an over-the-road trucker, and I have been criss-crossing the United States for over 20 years. I would have to say that in all my years on the road, these guys provided the best customer service experience I've ever encountered anywhere. Just real nice friendly folks. :) I did a pre-trip inspection on my semi truck this morning, and discovered I had a flat tire. Because it costs about $300 for a road service vehicle to come out, I decided to limp the 80 miles to their shop. I found them on truckdown.com, and had no idea if they were any good or not. Needless to say, they exceeded all of my expectations, save for one. I will address that one issue at the end of this review. It is blitz week, when DOT inspectors at the scales routinely pull in every truck for inspections, for a 7-Day period every year. It is insanely hard to get any work done on a truck during this week, because every trucker is getting last minute work done, so they can avoid problems with the DOT. I had been to seven different truck stops a few days earlier, trying to get another flat tire repaired. So, when I rolled into their shop, I wasn't expecting to get work done right away. It was a very pleasant surprise when they told me to immediately back up to a door. In the shop, I was surprised again. A very nicely furnished lounge, with free chocolate and a Keurig coffee machine. :0 I had a nice conversation with Rick about his service in the Air Force, and with Tina about her time as an over-the-road trucker, before she settled down at this company. The shop did a fantastic job, fixed my tire expertly, and even gave my dog Lucy a biscuit for the road! :0 I would highly recommend this shop to anyone wanting to get service done on their car or semi truck. These are great people who take pride in their work. I believe they work on all makes, but are Ford diesel specialists. They even offered me some advice on resurrecting a dead diesel F-250 pickup I have sitting in my yard. Unfortunately, my yard is in Knoxville, Tennessee, or I would definitely have them work on it. :). Heck, I might end up throwing my pickup on a flatbed, hauling it to Falconer, NY, and having them work on it anyway. ;) They are that good! So, why did I give them four, instead of five stars? Price. I was a little surprised by the bill. As I mentioned above, I had an identical flat tire repair done a few days ago, at a name brand truck stop. The bill was literally less than a third of what I was charged at this shop. I was expecting to pay somewhere between 50 and $100, and it was significantly more than that. Later, I called the shop and asked them to break down the bill for me. They were very courteous, and explained that I had been charged a drive-in fee. I've never encountered this before. Evidently, they had to take one of their technicians off a repair in progress, so that they could get me back on the road as quickly as possible. I appreciate that, but I would have liked to have been notified about that beforehand. I still saved a lot of time and money over what it would have cost, had I waited for a mobile repair service, but I paid a lot more than I would have, had I got the repair done at a truck stop chain. Then again, I probably would have had to wait a very, very long time, and would not have had anywhere near as good a customer service experience. To sum up, I greatly enjoyed meeting the people who work at this place, and I'm very satisfied with their work. I would use them again for any kind of truck repair, but probably not for tire repair, because of the aforementioned drive-in fee. Maybe this is a common thing in New York state? I don't know. I would recommend this place to any of my trucker friends, but would counsel them to ask about the drive-in fee first. That way, there would be no unpleasant surprises. If not for that fee, I would have given this shop more than five stars. Maybe seven or eight stars. :) Thank you I-86 Auto and Truck Repair!
