Hughes Auto Body Shop Introduce

Welcome to Hughes Auto Body Shop, an auto repair station located at 1839 S 21st Ave, Maywood, IL 60153, USA. Situated within the platform category of Auto Repair Stations, Hughes Auto Body Shop specializes in collision repair, auto body work, and related services. You can contact them at (708) 343-3600 or their mobile number +1 708-343-3600.

The environment of Hughes Auto Body Shop is likely that of a typical auto body repair facility. This would include a workshop area equipped with the necessary tools and equipment for repairing damaged vehicle bodies. This might involve paint booths for refinishing vehicles, frame straightening machines for structural repairs, welding equipment, and various hand and power tools specific to auto body work. The shop would also have space for vehicle storage, both for cars awaiting repair and those that have been completed. A reception or office area would be present for customer interaction, estimates, and paperwork. The description of the owner as an "old country soul" might suggest a more traditional, perhaps less modern, but potentially experienced and customer-focused atmosphere in the interaction with clients.

The services offered at Hughes Auto Body Shop would primarily focus on repairing vehicles that have been in accidents or sustained body damage. This includes collision repair, which involves restoring the structural integrity of the vehicle's frame and body. They would also offer services such as dent removal, bumper repair and replacement, paint work (including color matching and full vehicle repaints), and possibly the repair or replacement of other damaged exterior components like fenders and hoods. The negative customer review mentions a paint job, bumper issues, and dent repair, confirming that these are among the services offered. It also mentions the repair or reinstallation of sensors, indicating they might handle some related mechanical or electronic components affected by the body damage. Given the nature of auto body work, they likely work with insurance companies to process claims related to accidents.

The features of Hughes Auto Body Shop, based on the limited customer reviews, present a mixed perspective. One customer describes the owner as having "amazing expertise" in evaluating the work needed and making the customer feel important, suggesting a personalized and knowledgeable approach in the initial assessment and customer interaction. This could be a significant feature for customers seeking a more personal touch and confidence in the evaluation of their vehicle's damage. However, the second, more detailed review paints a concerning picture of the quality of the completed work. This customer reported several issues upon picking up their vehicle, including an improperly connected bumper, damaged sensors that were reinstalled without repair, a poor paint job with a color mismatch, remaining dents, and a broken key fob (with a dispute over its prior condition). These issues, if accurate, would represent significant shortcomings in the quality of repair and attention to detail.

Promotional information for Hughes Auto Body Shop is not explicitly provided in the given reviews. Auto body shops often attract customers through word-of-mouth, local advertising, and relationships with insurance companies. They might offer free estimates for repair work to attract potential clients. Depending on the extent of the damage and the insurance coverage, promotions might be less common than in general auto repair shops. However, they might offer discounts on certain services or work with customers on payment plans in some cases. Local users are encouraged to contact Hughes Auto Body Shop directly to inquire about their pricing, repair processes, and any potential discounts or special offers they might have. It would also be prudent to ask about their warranty on repairs and their procedures for addressing any issues that might arise after the work is completed, especially in light of the negative feedback regarding the quality of a previous repair.

In conclusion, Hughes Auto Body Shop in Maywood, IL, is an auto repair station specializing in auto body repair services, including collision repair, dent removal, bumper work, and painting. While one customer praises the owner's expertise and customer interaction skills, another provides a detailed account of significant issues with the quality of the completed repair work. This contrasting feedback suggests that experiences with Hughes Auto Body Shop can vary considerably. Local users considering Hughes Auto Body Shop for their vehicle's body repair needs should be aware of these differing perspectives. It would be advisable to seek detailed estimates, inquire about their quality control processes, and understand their policies on addressing potential issues after the repairs are done. Given the serious concerns raised in one of the reviews, it might be beneficial for potential customers to seek additional references or consider multiple options before entrusting their vehicle's body work to this shop.

I picked up my car the bumper was not all the way connected to the hood of the vehicle, all 4 of my sensors was still damaged in placed back on my vehicle. The paint job was horrible and a different blue from the color of my car. The vehicle still had 2 dents on the end of the fender, and my key fob was broken when I pick my vehicle up, Mr Hughes then indicated it must have been already broken and you want me to buy you a new on. First off I do have a spare key in it’s the fact that I didn’t give it to him with the lock button missing. I contacted Mr Hughes to see when will my vehicle be fixed correctly his comments was he can try to fix it. I requested to pick up my vehicle from him with only half of the payment for the half of work he done. I was respectful the entire time. I did contact the police to ensure it wouldn’t be any issue when picking up my vehicle from his home/ shop. I wouldn’t recommend him to anyone.

Mr Hughes did a good job fixing 2 cars i brought to him and he communicated clearly what was wrong with them and what it would take to fix them. He is also a good neighbor.

Very hard-working and gets the job done. No matter the problem, flat tire, oil change and auto body/collision. This is the place to go.
