High Country Sales, Service and Rentals Introduce

Located at 2900 Millers Gap Hwy, Newland, NC 28657, USA, High Country Sales, Service and Rentals operates as a multifaceted automotive establishment. Falling under the platform category of Auto Repair Stations, their comprehensive offerings extend beyond mere repairs to include vehicle sales and rentals, making them a unique and versatile resource for the local community in Newland, NC. This integrated approach means they aim to serve a wide range of automotive needs, from purchasing a vehicle to routine maintenance, emergency repairs, and temporary transportation solutions.

The environment at High Country Sales, Service and Rentals would therefore be structured to accommodate its diverse operations. One would anticipate distinct areas for each function. There would likely be a sales office or showroom where vehicles for sale are presented, offering a space for customers to discuss purchasing options and view inventory. Similarly, a dedicated area for vehicle rentals would exist, allowing for smooth pick-up and drop-off processes. Central to their categorization as an "Auto Repair Station" would be a robust service bay area. This workshop would be equipped with various lifts, diagnostic equipment, and specialized tools to handle a wide range of mechanical repairs and maintenance tasks. A clean and organized waiting area for service customers, possibly with amenities, would also be a standard feature. The overall atmosphere would aim to be professional yet approachable, reflecting a local business that caters to the community's diverse automotive requirements.

The services offered by High Country Sales, Service and Rentals are extensive, reflecting their multifaceted business model. As an Auto Repair Station, their repair services would encompass a broad spectrum of automotive needs. This includes routine maintenance such as oil changes, tire rotations and replacement, brake inspections and repairs, and fluid flushes. More complex mechanical services would likely include engine diagnostics and repair, transmission services, suspension work (as highlighted by a customer review regarding strut installation), axle repair, air conditioning service, and electrical system troubleshooting. For customers facing urgent repair needs, their willingness to go "above and beyond," as described in a review, suggests they can handle emergency repairs efficiently. Beyond repairs, their "Sales" component implies offering a selection of used vehicles for purchase, while "Rentals" indicates providing temporary vehicle solutions for those needing transportation while their car is serviced or for other travel purposes. This integrated model provides convenience and a holistic approach to automotive solutions for residents of Newland and surrounding areas.

The features of High Country Sales, Service and Rentals are vividly portrayed through the mixed customer reviews, highlighting both their strengths and areas for potential improvement. Key features include:

  • Exceptional Customer Care and Professionalism: One review effusively praises the business for caring "about the customer not the bottom line" and being "very professional and knowledgeable." This suggests a strong customer-first philosophy where client needs are prioritized over pure profit.
  • Going Above and Beyond: A standout feature is their willingness to extend extraordinary effort, as demonstrated when a mechanic named Antonio came in on his day off to help a customer with an urgent repair for a road trip. This level of dedication and flexibility is rare and highly valued by customers in distress.
  • Skilled Mechanics: Antonio is specifically highlighted for his professionalism, showing the customer "everything he did and the mistakes I had made," indicating not just repair skill but also transparent communication and educational guidance. This points to a team that is competent and willing to explain the repair process clearly.
  • Timely and Efficient Service: The ability to complete a complex repair (struts and a broken front axle) with time to spare before a road trip underscores their efficiency and commitment to meeting customer deadlines.
  • Versatility (Sales, Service, Rentals): The business model itself is a feature, offering a convenient hub for multiple automotive needs, which can save customers time and effort.
However, a contrasting review points to a significant area of concern related to their sales operation:
  • Vehicle Quality Concerns from Sales: The negative review highlights a severe issue with a purchased vehicle, describing it as a "lemon" requiring substantial additional repairs, and accusing the business of selling a vehicle with "bad brakes" and leaving "parts off." This raises serious questions about the quality of vehicles sold and the thoroughness of pre-sale inspections or repairs on their sales inventory.
  • Repair Quality Concerns (from Sales Perspective): The negative reviewer's skepticism about taking a vehicle to be repaired by a shop that "couldn't repair it correctly to start with" (referring to the sold vehicle) directly challenges the reliability of their repair services when viewed through the lens of their sales practices.
These contrasting perspectives indicate that while their service department demonstrates strong dedication and expertise (as seen with Antonio), their sales division faces significant trust issues regarding vehicle quality and safety standards. This duality means the business has a strong reputation for excellent service but a potentially tarnished one concerning vehicle sales.

Regarding promotional information, High Country Sales, Service and Rentals would likely employ a multi-faceted approach, tailored to each of their service lines. For their repair services, the powerful positive word-of-mouth generated by instances like Antonio's exceptional help would be invaluable. This would be supplemented by local advertising in Newland, potentially in community newspapers or through local sponsorships, to build goodwill and recognition. Online presence, through a website detailing their services and potentially allowing online booking, would also be crucial. Testimonials like the positive one should be prominently featured to build trust. For car sales, typical promotions might include competitive pricing, financing options, or seasonal sales events. However, the negative review concerning a "lemon" vehicle strongly suggests that building trust and transparency in their sales division, perhaps through certified pre-owned programs or more rigorous pre-sale inspections, would be a critical promotional and operational improvement. For rentals, clear pricing, a user-friendly booking system, and perhaps partnership deals with local tourism or businesses could be beneficial. Overall, their strongest promotional asset for the "Service" aspect is their demonstrated willingness to prioritize the customer, a quality that is rare and highly valued in the automotive industry.

In conclusion, High Country Sales, Service and Rentals in Newland, NC, offers a broad suite of automotive solutions as an Auto Repair Station, complemented by vehicle sales and rentals. While their service department, notably exemplified by mechanics like Antonio, garners immense praise for professionalism, dedication, and exceptional customer care, the serious concerns raised about the quality and safety of vehicles sold highlight a clear dichotomy in their operational excellence. For local users, this means they can likely expect high-quality and empathetic service for their repair needs, but should exercise increased diligence when considering vehicle purchases from this establishment.

High Country Sales, Service and Rentals Customer Reviews

What can I say about High Country’s Sales Service and Rentals. I highly recommend them for your car needs. They care about the customer not the bottom line. They will put you first and are very professional and knowledgeable. Had a problem with installing some struts on my Honda pilot. And a broke front axle. Needed my car in 7 days for a road trip, I couldn’t even find someone to look at it in that time frame let alone fix it. Even though they had no appointments available a mechanic came in on his day off to help us out. Antonio said he would do it. Once the car and parts where at the shop he got started at finishing the job. Not only did he get it done but he got it done with time to spare so we could get new tires before our trip. Antonio was very professional and showed me everything he did and the mistakes I had made. I will bring all my vehicles for repairs to this shop in Newland. 10 stars for going above and beyond to take care of a customer in need.

Sold me a lemon 2008 subaru, I have to spend 3500 to get the car right DO NIT BUY FROM THESE PEOPLE in response to the owner's post. Why would anyone be so stupid to take a vehicle to a dealership slash repair shop that leaves parts off the vehicle the brakes were atrocious. You don't send people out on the highway with bad brakes so why would you take something to be repaired? To someone that couldn't repair it correctly to start with

My husband and I were doing a road trip through the Blue Ridge Parkway and noticed we had an oil leak. We called multiple places and heard shop after shop say, "I'm sorry, but we are booked solid." Feeling discouraged and a little concerned, we called this place with the same plea. To our surprise, they welcomed us in and took a look at what was going on, giving us a quick synopsis on the problem and easing our concerns about not knowing what we were dealing with. Super friendly and helpful in a time of need for us. A God send, really! Good people, great mechanics. 10/10 recommend.

After asking about a vehicle that was listed for sale, my wife drove over an hour to get there and test drive the vehicle. She spoke with Chuck and after agreeing on some repairs that needed to be done it was understood that we would buy the vehicle. Today when my wife called to get the VIN number, she was told it had been sold just a few minutes earlier. My daughter who is 17 was looking forward to this being her 1st vehicle. I find this type of behavior very unethical and would advise any other potential customers to look elsewhere to do their business as this may be their everyday practice.

Thank you so much for you dishonesty Chuck! You knew we had little to know money and was homeless! I'm glad you can sleep at night knowing you sold us something we can't even get hot water in and all the leaks and damage. Hope the money for the RV was worth it to your so called charity.
