Go Auto Sales and Repair Introduce

Located at **1445 Arcade St, St Paul, MN 55106, USA**, **Go Auto Sales and Repair** positions itself as a dual-purpose establishment within the "Auto Repair Stations" category, simultaneously engaging in car sales and vehicle repair services. They can be reached via phone at **(651) 528-7134** or **+1 651-528-7134**. This combination of services aims to provide a comprehensive solution for local users looking to both purchase and maintain their vehicles.

Environment and Operating Model

As a business that offers both auto sales and repair, Go Auto Sales and Repair likely features a layout that accommodates both functions. This typically includes a showroom or lot for displaying vehicles for sale, alongside a workshop area for mechanical repairs. The environment for sales would aim to be inviting, while the repair bays would be functional and equipped for vehicle servicing. Located on Arcade St, it's likely situated in a commercial or mixed-use area of St. Paul, making it accessible to a general public seeking either a new-to-them vehicle or automotive servicing. The dual nature of the business means that customers might be drawn in by a sales offering and then utilize the repair services, or vice-versa. The operating model appears to involve direct interaction with customers for both sales inquiries and service needs, with a technician team handling repairs.

Services Offered (Based on Business Name and Category)

Based on its name, "Go Auto Sales and Repair," the establishment offers two primary categories of service:

  • **Auto Sales:** This would involve the buying and selling of used vehicles. Customers would likely find a selection of cars available for purchase, with the associated processes of vehicle inspection, titling, and financing potentially offered. While no direct reviews mention the sales aspect, its inclusion in the name signifies it as a core business function.
  • **Auto Repair:** As an "Auto Repair Station," the business is expected to offer a range of mechanical repair and maintenance services for vehicles. This typically includes:
    • **Diagnostics:** Identifying the root cause of vehicle issues through inspection and potentially specialized diagnostic equipment.
    • **General Mechanical Repairs:** Addressing common automotive problems across various systems such as the engine, transmission, brakes, steering, and suspension.
    • **Maintenance Services:** Routine tasks like oil changes, fluid checks, filter replacements, and tire services.
    • **Specialized Repairs (Implied/Expected):** For a full-service repair shop, this would include more complex jobs, though the provided reviews raise questions about their diagnostic and repair capabilities for intricate issues.

It's important to note that while they offer auto repair, the customer reviews provided paint a specific picture of the execution of these services, particularly regarding diagnostics and the quality of repairs.

Features and Customer Experiences (Critical Analysis)

The customer reviews provided for Go Auto Sales and Repair are consistently negative and highlight significant concerns regarding key aspects of their service. These reviews offer a critical perspective on the business's features and the actual customer experience:

Features (as perceived by customers, negatively):
  • **Diagnostic Capability Issues:** A recurring theme is the alleged inability to accurately diagnose vehicle problems. One customer states, "They couldn’t diagnose my car," leading to a proposed expensive repair for an unknown issue. This is a critical deficiency for an auto repair station, as accurate diagnosis is the foundation of effective repair.
  • **Lack of Transparency/Trust:** The first customer's experience of being asked to approve a $600+ repair without a clear diagnosis demonstrates a lack of transparency and an approach that eroded customer trust. This led the customer to seek a "second opinion" and significant savings elsewhere, underscoring a perceived absence of customer-first practices.
  • **Substandard Repair Quality/Incomplete Work:** The second review details severe issues with the repair quality. After a major issue, the vehicle was returned with numerous new problems, including "steering needing to be programmed," "a broken sensor," an "intercooler pipe was not even attached," "loose turbo piping," and "windshield wipers that didn't work." This points to highly unsatisfactory workmanship, potentially due to negligence, lack of attention to detail, or inadequate technical skills.
  • **Lack of Accountability and Customer Support Post-Repair:** The most alarming feature highlighted is the alleged refusal to take responsibility for issues introduced during their repair. The shop reportedly "just gave me back the car, and they told me to take it to the dealership for the steering," and "They wouldn't even pay for the dealership work." This indicates a profound lack of post-service accountability, leaving the customer with significant additional costs and inconvenience.
Customer Experience (Overwhelmingly Negative):
  • **Financial Loss and Time Wasted:** Both customers reported losing money and time due to the shop's alleged incompetence or negligence. One saved "so much time & money elsewhere," while the other incurred substantial additional costs at a dealership to fix issues created or left unaddressed by Go Auto Sales and Repair.
  • **Erosion of Trust:** The strong advisories to "Always get a second opinion!" and "Stay away from this shop" clearly demonstrate a complete loss of trust in the business's capabilities and ethics.
  • **Frustration and Dissatisfaction:** The detailed accounts convey immense frustration, a common outcome when customers feel their vehicle problems are compounded rather than resolved.

It's critical for local users to consider these reported experiences, as they suggest significant operational and customer service deficiencies within the repair segment of Go Auto Sales and Repair.

Promotional Information and Recommendations for Users

Given the overwhelmingly negative customer feedback, any promotional information for Go Auto Sales and Repair would face a significant challenge in building trust. While the business name itself ("Go Auto Sales and Repair") communicates its services, the actual customer experiences contradict the implied promise of reliable repair.

For local users, the strongest recommendation, based on the provided data, is to proceed with extreme caution and consider alternatives for automotive repair. Specifically:

  • **Always Seek a Second Opinion:** As strongly advised by a former customer, obtaining diagnostics and repair quotes from multiple shops is crucial, especially for complex or expensive issues.
  • **Prioritize Shops with Positive and Consistent Reviews:** Look for businesses with a track record of reliable diagnostics, quality workmanship, and strong customer service.
  • **Request Written Estimates:** Always ask for a detailed written estimate outlining all proposed repairs, parts, labor costs, and diagnostic fees before authorizing any work.
  • **Document Everything:** Keep records of all communications, quotes, and receipts. If issues arise, having clear documentation is essential.
  • **Be Wary of Undiagnosed Repairs:** If a shop proposes expensive repairs without a clear and understandable diagnosis of the actual problem, it is a significant red flag.

The information available suggests that while Go Auto Sales and Repair intends to serve the community with both sales and repair services, the reported experiences in the repair segment warrant significant caution. Prospective customers should perform thorough due diligence and consider these critical insights before engaging their services.

They couldn’t diagnose my car yet they wanted me to fix something for $600+ like why would I do that when we don’t know what the issue really is? I could be wasting my time& money. So I took my car to a different shop and the guy there fixed my car for only $200! Always get a second opinion! I saved so much time& money elsewhere!

Took my vehicle there for one major issue. The rest of the car was perfect. My vehicle was returned to me with the steering needing to be programmed along with a broken sensor. Intercooler pipe was not even attached. Loose turbo piping & windshield wipers that didn't work. The vehicle never should have been returned to me like that. The shop should have taken care of all of these issues. Well, they didn't take care of any of this. They just gave me back the car, and they told me to take it to the dealership for the steering, I had everything fixed at the dealership, and I didn't trust them at all. They wouldn't even pay for the dealership work. I had the full diagnostic report & full receipt. Stay away from this shop.

Needed front brakes done. Called on Monday & left Message. CK called back Tuesday morning & said could do noon. Dropped it off, got guesstimate quote. By time I walked home he called with info & real quote. Well reasonable. A little over 2 hrs later he called again & it was done! Picked it up & chatted a little, real nice person. Took longer way home to pump breaks a bit. By time got home everything was as it should be. Will definitely go back!

I took my car in on Saturday night because my car's heat was not functioning properly. I called in ahead before drop-off and they informed me that they would be closed Sunday and would not be able to look at it until Monday morning, which was okay with me. I let them know ahead that I had a bad tire on the car and that the computer part of my car did not not work (would need to be looked at by a certified technician) but that I only wanted the HEAT part of the car to be fixed, because it is an older car and not worth the costly repairs... on Sunday afternoon, they gave me a call about the diagnostic tests and all the parts that would need to be fixed that same day, which I was pleased with. The price was out of my budget still, so they were understanding and willing to fix only what needed to be fixed so that I could afford the service. I was very pleased with Lee, who I spoke to on the phone, and his customer service and promptness with calling me back that same day. They are close by my home, so I will definitely bring my car here again if it needs future repairs (or recommend to a friend).
