Glass America Introduce

For local residents in Oswego, Illinois, and the surrounding areas, Glass America, located at 34 Stone Hill Rd B, Oswego, IL 60543, USA, falls under the platform category of "Auto Repair Stations," indicating its provision of automotive services and related goods. Based on its name and the customer reviews, Glass America primarily specializes in auto glass services, particularly windshield replacement and potentially related services such as the calibration of Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) cameras that are often integrated into windshields. It's important to note that one review mentions services being performed under the Gerber brand, suggesting a possible affiliation or that Gerber operates under the Glass America umbrella.

Details about the specific environment of the Glass America facility in Oswego are not extensively provided in the customer reviews. However, a typical auto glass service center includes a service bay where vehicles can be brought in for windshield replacement and other glass repairs. It would likely be equipped with the necessary tools and materials for safe and efficient glass removal and installation. Given the increasing integration of technology like ADAS into windshields, the facility might also have equipment for camera calibration. A customer waiting area would also be expected. The overall environment would ideally be clean and organized, reflecting a professional approach to vehicle care.

The primary service offered by Glass America in Oswego is windshield replacement. One customer explicitly mentions having their windshield replaced by Rene, whom they described as "amazing," "very kind," and thorough in explaining the process. This positive feedback suggests a focus on customer service during the replacement procedure. However, another review details a less satisfactory experience involving a faulty initial windshield replacement and subsequent issues with the ADAS camera. This indicates that while windshield replacement is a core service, the integration with modern vehicle technology like lane departure warning and mitigation systems can present challenges. The second customer's experience suggests that Glass America also offers, or at least recommends, ADAS camera calibration after windshield replacement, for which they quoted a price.

As an "Auto Repair Station" specializing in auto glass, Glass America likely provides corresponding goods for sale, primarily the replacement windshields themselves. They would likely stock or have access to a variety of windshields to fit different makes and models of vehicles. Additionally, they might offer other auto glass services such as repair of minor chips and cracks in windshields or replacement of other car windows (side windows, rear windows). The potential offering of ADAS camera calibration suggests they are adapting to the technological advancements in the automotive industry, where windshield replacement can impact the functionality of safety systems.

A key feature of Glass America appears to be their provision of windshield replacement services, with the potential for ADAS camera calibration. The contrasting customer reviews highlight both positive and negative aspects of their service. On the positive side, the kindness and thoroughness of individual technicians like Rene are commendable. The helpfulness of staff like Omar in setting up appointments is also a positive feature. However, the negative review raises concerns about the quality control of replacement windshields and the potential for complications with ADAS camera functionality post-replacement, as well as the pricing of subsequent calibration services. The fact that the calibration quote was higher than a Honda dealership's price is a significant point of concern raised by the customer.

Currently, there is no explicit promotional information for Glass America in the provided text. Auto glass service providers sometimes offer discounts on windshield replacements, special deals for insurance claims, or promotions on additional services like wiper blade replacements or glass treatments. Local users interested in any current promotions should contact Glass America directly. It would also be prudent to inquire specifically about their procedures and guarantees related to ADAS camera functionality after windshield replacement, given the issues raised in one of the reviews. Understanding their policy on recalibration and associated costs upfront can help local users make informed decisions.

In conclusion, Glass America in Oswego, IL, specializes in auto glass services, primarily windshield replacement, and may also offer ADAS camera calibration. While one customer praised the kindness and efficiency of the service, another reported issues with a faulty windshield leading to ADAS camera malfunction and a costly calibration quote. For local users considering Glass America for windshield replacement, it is advisable to inquire about the quality of the replacement glass, their procedures for handling vehicles with ADAS, their calibration services, associated costs, and any guarantees they offer regarding the proper functioning of these safety systems after the service. Contacting them directly at (331) 316-6451 or mobile at +1 331-316-6451 is recommended to discuss specific needs and concerns.

Glass America Customer Reviews

I got the windshield replacement done with Gerber, which is Glass America. When the windshield was replaced first time, it was faulty, so the replacement was ordered. Everything was working fine with the camera with the lane departure and mitigation warning. With The second windshield, the camera stopped working and they quoted me $375 to get the camera calibrated. I told them that with the first one, everything was fine with the second one, it stopped working . They are telling me they recommend to do the camera recalibration. They wanted to make money out of it, which is rip off . They are charging me more than what honda is asking for re calibration….
