Gilarno's Transmissions Tires & Auto Repair Introduce
Gilarno's Transmissions Tires & Auto Repair, located at 899 3rd Ave, Freedom, PA 15042, USA, presents itself as a local establishment offering a range of automotive services. The facility can be reached via phone at (724) 775-4040 or mobile at +1 724-775-4040. As an "Auto Repair Station" within the platform category, it aims to provide essential services and goods related to vehicle maintenance and repair to the local community in Freedom, Pennsylvania, and surrounding areas.
Typically, auto repair stations like Gilarno's cater to a broad spectrum of vehicle needs. This often includes routine maintenance services such as oil changes, tire rotations, and brake inspections, which are crucial for the longevity and safe operation of any vehicle. Beyond routine upkeep, these establishments commonly handle more complex repairs involving engine diagnostics, suspension systems, and electrical components. The name "Transmissions Tires & Auto Repair" specifically suggests a focus on transmission issues and tire-related services, which are specialized areas within automotive repair. Transmission work can range from fluid flushes to complete rebuilds, while tire services encompass sales, mounting, balancing, and puncture repairs.
When considering the environment of an auto repair station, one generally expects a professional and organized setting. This would typically include a clean waiting area for customers, a well-maintained workshop equipped with various diagnostic tools and lifts, and clearly marked service bays. The exterior usually features adequate parking for customer vehicles and signage that is easily visible from the road. An efficient check-in and check-out process, along with clear communication about service timelines and costs, are also characteristic of a customer-focused auto repair environment. While specific details about Gilarno's physical environment are not available through online information, these are common expectations for a reputable auto repair facility.
The services offered by an establishment named "Transmissions Tires & Auto Repair" would primarily revolve around these key areas. For transmissions, this could include diagnostics for slipping gears, delayed engagement, or unusual noises, as well as repairs or replacements. For tires, services would likely include selling new tires from various brands, tire installation, wheel balancing to ensure smooth driving, tire rotations to promote even wear, and flat tire repairs. General auto repair services would then cover a wider array of mechanical issues, such as brake system repairs (pads, rotors, calipers), suspension work (shocks, struts, alignments), exhaust system repairs, and basic engine maintenance and troubleshooting. The comprehensive nature implied by "Auto Repair" suggests an ability to address a significant portion of a vehicle's mechanical needs, making it a potentially convenient one-stop-shop for many drivers.
Features of a well-regarded auto repair shop often include certified technicians with up-to-date training, the use of quality parts, and diagnostic equipment capable of identifying issues in modern vehicles. Transparent pricing, written estimates before work begins, and a clear explanation of repairs are also highly valued by customers. Some shops might offer amenities like shuttle services, rental car assistance, or roadside assistance. For a business emphasizing transmissions and tires, specialized equipment for these specific services would be a key feature, ensuring precise and effective repairs in these critical areas. The capacity to service a variety of vehicle makes and models is also a common feature of general auto repair shops.
Regarding promotional information, auto repair businesses often utilize various strategies to attract and retain customers. This can include introductory discounts for new customers, seasonal promotions for services like winter tire changeovers or pre-vacation vehicle checks, and loyalty programs for returning clients. Online presence through a website or social media allows for showcasing services, displaying positive customer testimonials (when available), and offering online appointment scheduling. Participation in local community events or sponsorships can also build brand recognition and foster goodwill. While specific promotional offers for Gilarno's Transmissions Tires & Auto Repair are not provided, these are typical approaches used within the industry to engage the local market.
However, it is crucial to present an objective view, and the provided customer reviews offer a different perspective. Multiple reviews state, "We have taken our fleet vehicles to this location and have them sent back every other week to be fixed. After dropping off all vehicles to their respective dealerships that were said “to be fixed”… they were not. Each dealership said they had to fix the same issues Gilarnos said they did or had to undo everything Gilarnos had done to make them run properly. Don’t recommend this location for any vehicle services what so ever not even changing a flat tire in the parking lot." This feedback suggests significant dissatisfaction, particularly concerning the efficacy of repairs and potential negative impacts on vehicle performance, as evidenced by the need for subsequent dealership intervention to correct issues or undo work. This strongly negative sentiment from what appears to be a customer with fleet vehicles, indicating repeated interactions, is a significant piece of information for prospective customers to consider when evaluating Gilarno's Transmissions Tires & Auto Repair. When researching any auto repair service, it is always advisable for local users to consider all available feedback and potentially seek multiple opinions or estimates before committing to services.

We have taken our fleet vehicles to this location and have them sent back every other week to be fixed. After dropping off all vehicles to their respective dealerships that were said “to be fixed”… they were not. Each dealership said they had to fix the same issues Gilarnos said they did or had to undo everything Gilarnos had done to make them run properly. Don’t recommend this location for any vehicle services what so ever not even changing a flat tire in the parking lot.

Went there about a year ago for an inspection and transmission issue. Come to find out they put the wrong type of transmission fluid in my vehicle and told me I had a CVT. I went to a honda specialist recently for an inspection and they told me it was not a CVT and they told me they put the wrong type of fluid in. May have caused more harm than good. Not sure if these guys know much about newer Hondas or what but issues they knew more about transmissions for being a "transmission" shop. For a whole year I could've gotten my problem worked out but they had me believing it was only going to be solved by replacing the transmission.

My son bought a 2010 Jeep wrangler from this a$$. He was 17 at time. I asked please just tell us what's wrong. My boy saved money. Just be straight with us. They said leak on front wheel hub which he would fix. No lights were on. My boy buys it...1 week after purchase engine light comes on. I call down there to see what's up. Owner tells me come down. He will look at it. So make appt and go down. Owner is in Tennessee. I talked to 1 of the workers. He says man they sold that fast. He said he used to make deliveries. I said engine line just came on. He told me that light had been on for awhile. So basically guy hooked up to machine and cleared code. It ended up being transmission. You get that Transmission shop lied and sold son a Jeep he knew was junk. Buyer beware with this a$$. You've been warned....wish I was. Hope I don't see this guy.

I had some issues with my Tahoe. It broke down right there in Freedom not even a mile from Gilarno's. I called and he said he would go and grab it and check it out. I did not receive a call from them I had to call him myself. Once I called he told me it was my fuel pump. He gave me a total of 732 dollars. I accepted that he wanted to charge me 50 bucks just for the tow. I told him to do the work on the it. I asked when it would be finished he said if he could get the part in by 3 he would be able to have it finished by the end of the day. I told him to please give me a call once the part came in. He did not call me so at 2 I called and he told me the part came in but he had to replace the fuel filter still. I left work early to go pick it up and on my way there I gave them a call and he said it would not be finished til Monday due to the fuel lines were busted by the fuel filter. I asked him how much it would be additional to the service. He said no much more the parts were cheap. I said ok. I did not receive a call from him so on Monday I called at noon and it was still not finished. He told me he had found more leaking lines due to him removing the fuel filter. He said it would be finished soon. I went to pick it up to only find out that it was going to cost me 923 all together and that was with him lowering the cost of the tow to 30 and the parts and labor for fixing the lines. 200 more then the quoted. That is absurd. I will never go here again. They are not prompt. They are not reasonably priced.

I had them pickup my car because it wouldn't start. When he picked it up I told him I had already replaced the starter and relay. He didn't listen to anything I said and talked over me because he doesn't like AutoZone parts "Oh it's the starter". I called them to check the status a few days later; to which they found out it was the ignition collum & they had it on order from Indianapolis because they "couldn't find them anywhere else" (there were several local when I checked with my phone). Fine fine, that should have been a 4 hour job....took them over 4 weeks total (which I had to spend over 1k$ on uber) because they couldn't figure out which 1 was needed for my VATS system (all they had to do was put an ohm reader on my key pellet and from the resistance would have told them which 1). After they screwed up and got the wrong 1 twice, they ended up replacing the entire cylinder. Fine, whatever; I was tired of them holding my car and just wanted it done. So after they did all that and came to cutting the keys for it they kept screwing that up too (ended up taking it to a GM dealership to fix ((I know right?))). This entire time they wouldn't give me a price of any kind, even being asked several times (illegal to do that I thought?); also out of the almost month the only 2 times they ever called me was if I was home so they could get my car & when it was "done". Frustrated I went to get my car, guy broke my horn buttons so I now have no horn (said he couldn't find one even though even walmart sells them meaning he didn't want to cough up the $40 I'm going to have to pay to fix their mistake); and he changed my relay again "for free" (even though I told him when he picked it up I had already did that). Charged me an 80$ diagnostic fee that I'm 100% they never did; 80 for tow (I live not even a mile away). Was so fed up I paid the guy to get my car out of their incapable hands. Get it home to find out they left out 4 screws (what kind of shop can't even put screws back in?); broke several dash retainer clips, so I checked the relay to find out they broke the bracket that holds them (had 1 relay just dangling there), and were so lazy they put them in backwards. Also there is now a tear in my leather seat presumably from them sliding in and out of my car. Since couldn't get just a few bolts I had to buy a $35 set to replace the screws they didn't put in. They also regurgitated what I told them when he picked up my car proving he didn't listen to a word I said (not like I'm a "machanic"). Also on a side note as he was ringing me out for their "repairs" another employee was backing an SUV out to which he said "are you taking it for a test drive? Let me do it I have to get some things for the wife" meaning they use vehicles they're repairing for personal errands. All in all they're a bunch of backyard mechanics playing shop. I will never take any vehicle there ever again & would never recommend anyone go there; horrible customer service, treated me like dirt and charged me for it. Worst "shop" I've ever been to; would give 0 stars if it would let me.
