Gerry's Auto Repair Introduce

When seeking an "Auto Repair Station" in Voorhees Township, New Jersey, and the surrounding areas, vehicle owners typically prioritize competence, honesty, and reliable service. Gerry's Auto Repair, located at 18 Haddonfield-Berlin Rd, Voorhees Township, NJ 08043, USA, is one such establishment. They can be reached via phone at (856) 821-2197 and mobile at +1 856-821-2197. However, an objective introduction to this business, based on available customer feedback, reveals significant concerns that prospective clients should be fully aware of before considering their services.

The environment at Gerry's Auto Repair, as depicted by customer experiences, appears to be fraught with issues related to professionalism and customer trust. While a physical auto repair shop typically includes a garage for vehicle work and a reception area for customer interaction, the reported behavior of the individual named Gerry (or Gerardo Morales) profoundly impacts the perceived environment. Descriptions of agitation, obscene language, throwing car keys, and refusing to provide proper receipts suggest a highly unprofessional and potentially hostile atmosphere for customers. Furthermore, allegations of "parts fraud" and "shotty work" imply a breakdown in the integrity of the repair process, making the environment one where customers may feel exploited or misled. The reported long wait times ("took about 2 weeks") for repairs also suggest an environment that is not managed efficiently, leading to significant inconvenience for vehicle owners.

As an "Auto Repair Station," Gerry's Auto Repair ostensibly provides services for vehicle maintenance and repair. Based on the customer reviews, these services include:

  • Radiator Repair: One customer mentioned having their radiator "fix 3 separate times."
  • Alternator Replacement: An alternator replacement was performed for one customer, though with reported issues.
  • General Diagnostics/Troubleshooting: Implied by the attempts to fix an annoying noise and address lights that came on.
  • Air Conditioner Repair: The air conditioner was noted as not working after a radiator repair.

However, the critical aspect of the services offered is not just what they claim to do, but the reported quality and efficacy of those services. The reviews strongly indicate recurring problems, failed repairs, and alleged use of faulty parts, undermining the very purpose of an auto repair station.

The features that distinguish Gerry's Auto Repair, according to customer accounts, are predominantly negative and raise serious red flags for potential clients. A key problematic feature is the alleged fraudulent practices and substandard workmanship. Customers explicitly mention "parts fraud," the use of "stripped bolts," and "shotty work" leading to repeated breakdowns. The instance of replacing an alternator with a "bad alternator" that caused five battery replacements within a year is a severe indictment of the quality of parts and service provided. This feature directly impacts the reliability and safety of the repairs.

Another highly concerning feature is the lack of transparency and integrity. One customer reported being refused a price until the car was complete and then being denied a proper receipt, instead receiving a "made-up receipt" with a false signature. The alleged deception regarding his name (Jerry vs. Gerardo Morales, and inconsistencies with shop licenses) further compounds the issues of trustworthiness and legality. This complete absence of transparency in pricing and documentation is extremely "sketchy" and raises significant concerns about the legitimacy of the operations.

Furthermore, poor communication and unprofessional customer interaction are prominent negative features. Customers describe Gerry as "not a nice person," ignoring calls and texts, lying about completion times, becoming "very agitated," and using "obscene language." The alarming report of him refusing to return opened parts to their original place and the subsequent "engine light" coming on because of an unreturned air cover demonstrates severe disregard for proper procedure and customer property. The alleged "flirty message" and subsequent retaliatory behavior ("trying to get me back for not responding") further contribute to a deeply unsettling and inappropriate customer service environment, particularly for female customers, leading to warnings to "not recommend going there at all" or to "go in with a male."

The prolonged service times ("kept my car for 4 days," "took about 2 weeks") are another significant negative feature, indicating inefficiency and inconvenience for customers who rely on their vehicles. The fact that problems remained unfixed, and new ones emerged, after multiple visits and payments, is a critical issue of non-delivery on service promises.

In terms of promotional information, there is no positive or traditional promotional content available in the provided reviews. Instead, the overwhelmingly negative customer feedback serves as a strong deterrent message for local users. Phrases like "Do not go here!!" and "I advise you not to go to this man because he is disrespectful and dishonest in repairing cars" function as direct warnings. The detailed accounts of alleged fraud, poor workmanship, unprofessional behavior, and lack of transparency actively discourage new business and serve as a negative promotional campaign for the establishment. While one customer initially mentioned "the price was reasonable my first visit," this singular positive note is heavily outweighed by the subsequent and severe negative experiences, effectively nullifying any potential positive promotion. For prospective customers, the internet information available about Gerry's Auto Repair essentially functions as a cautionary notice.

In conclusion, Gerry's Auto Repair at 18 Haddonfield-Berlin Rd, Voorhees Township, NJ 08043, USA, operating within the "Auto Repair Stations" category, presents a highly problematic picture based on customer reviews. The alleged instances of parts fraud, shoddy repairs, lack of transparency in pricing and receipts, extended service times, and severely unprofessional and inappropriate conduct create an environment that is reportedly unreliable, dishonest, and potentially unsafe. For local users in Voorhees Township, New Jersey, the comprehensive and detailed negative feedback strongly advises against engaging with Gerry's Auto Repair for any automotive service needs.

Gerry's Auto Repair Customer Reviews

Gerry is committing some kind of parts fraud fraud, which is strange considering I was referred to him by a local parts store. *I had him fix my radiator 3 separate times. The second time I took it to another mechanic and they told me that he used stripped bolts. *The first 2 times he returned it to me he took about 2 weeks because he was "looking for parts". *The first time he returned it, the air conditioner in the car didn't work and I didn't find out until the first hot day of the season. *My radiator just broke again and the car is not fully drivable because of his shotty work. * He took 2 weeks to replace my alternator with a bad alternator. My car needed a new battery 5 times in a year because of this.

Do not go here!! He is not a nice person he kept my car for 4 days. He lied to me about when my car would be ready two of those days when he did answer my call saying that my car would be ready in an hour and a half and then proceeded to ignore all my calls and text messages after that when I was trying to see what time the car will be ready. I asked for a price multiple times and he would not give me a price until the car was complete . He also refused to give me a receipt which is extremely sketchy I don't even know if the parts are new I needed an alternator replacement. He didn't even fix the complete problem, the lights that came on when my alternator was going are still on. So I still need to figure out what he did. He wrote me out a made-up receipt and then signed his name Jerry with a J when his name is Gerardo Morales. He wouldn't even put his last name on the receipt and when I asked him if his name is spelled Jerry with a G because that's what it says on the shop he says no. The pictures of the licenses that are expired in his shop say different they say Gerardo with a G. I don't know what is going on in that shop but I know that it's not legal and it needs to be shut down. He claims that the phone I was calling was not his personal but the last time he fixed my car he sent me a flirty message and I did not respond. Sir, you're old and ugly I don't want you. I feel like he was trying to get me back for not responding. He is very creepy, sketchy and weird ladies if you do go here make sure you go in with a male but I would not but I would not recommend going there at all!!! I only went because the price was reasonable my first visit

Oh my goodness. Where do I even start? This is my first time leaving a poor review somewhere and I feel bad but I also feel like I have to warn people. These mechanics have NO clue what they are doing. They tried to get me to buy a new transmission when all I needed was a new battery. I laughed it off and wind up giving them a second chance a year later BUT again, poor service. Do yourself a favor and spend the extra few more somewhere else. The owner is the furthest thing from professional. They seem nice at first but TRUST ME once you give them your keys EVERYTHINGS fishy. They make up issues for more money and will open the shop whenever they feel like it which means you’ll get your vehicle back whenever they feel like opening. Look away and thank me later.

We were traveling down to the area for my daughters soccer tournament from Maine. About halfway down our brakes started to make a horrible noise. Metal on metal. We called Gerry's seeing that they were open on Saturdays, and they fit us in immediately. I didn't miss a single game of my daughter's tournament because of thier excellent and quick work. I can't thank or recommend them enough!

I took my 4Runner to new break pads and rotos. Gerry was able to see me the same day. He was very professional and helpful, and even checked the engine light on my second car for no charge. The price for the break pad change was very fair and even matched the life time warranty someone else offered. I am new to the area and maybe too soon to say, but I think I found my go to mechanic. Thank Gerry for the excellent work and your advice to get my second card registered.
