Gates Brothers Glass

I had an appointment at 8:30 am on a Monday. Scheduled a week out. Got in on time, was told it would be a few hours. I said no problem. Walked home, didn’t hear anything all morning. At about 1:00 pm (5.5 hours later) I called to check on the vehicle. I politely explained that I had dropped it off quite a while ago and I needed to pick it up soon if it wasn’t done, because I had things to do. The receptionist was very short with me and told me she would check on it and call me back. Miraculously, about 10 minutes later she calls me back to say my vehicle is ready. When I get there, I go in to get my keys and sign, the lady is again very rude with me. I go out and get in my car and then the key, and my car doesn’t start. It takes several turns to get it running. My car has almost never had an issue starting. And it certainly had no problem starting right before I dropped it off. I would highly recommend you do not use this place. They were, in my opinion, very unprofessional and took way longer than was appropriate with no communication to their customer. I also have a strong suspicion that whoever moved my car to work on it flooded the engine when trying to start it, causing my problems with it starting.

I called Gates Brothers on a Friday morning after a competitor had suddenly dropped out on me and said they couldn't get my car's glass in for another week (they said none of their local suppliers had it, despite me giving them a week's notice to get it in). These guys got the glass for my car in one day and then had it installed by the next Monday while I was at work (they came down the street to my work in Urbana for no extra charge). My window looks great, and the guy (Matt I believe was his name) who installed it was friendly and professional. Extremely happy with their service and with the reasonable price.

I won't review there service because I haven't used there service but I'm seriously unimpressed by the poor representation by your employee as I witnessed one sitting in one of your vans out front of your Urbana location cursing and yelling at someone drivi g by that he was apparently annoyed with. It is very important to understand that you are a living testimonial to the quality of your business when you are in uniform and in a work vehicle. Very disappointed in what I saw and heard.

Was not at all satisfied with the customer service of this business. Work was delayed two months. They forgot about us. Were rude. Made comments regarding being inconvenienced by my husband's inability to answer the door or phone. My husband has ALS. Never sent a bill or receipt for deposit, but called demanding payment for service.
