Fox Valley Iron & Metal, Inc. Introduce

Fox Valley Iron & Metal, Inc., situated at 9230 WI-54, Wisconsin Rapids, WI 54494, USA, serves the local community as a facility primarily involved in auto salvage and scrap metal recycling. They can be contacted at (715) 423-8988 or via mobile at +1 715-423-8988. While not a traditional "Auto Repair Station" that performs vehicle repairs, this establishment functions as a crucial part of the automotive ecosystem by providing used auto parts and a destination for end-of-life vehicles and various metal scraps.

The environment at Fox Valley Iron & Metal, Inc. is characteristic of a salvage yard and recycling center. It is designed to process and store a large volume of vehicles and various types of metal. Customers visiting the facility are typically looking for used auto parts or to sell scrap metal. As such, the environment is functional and geared towards efficient handling of materials, rather than a typical retail auto parts store experience. The yard is likely organized to allow for the recovery of parts from salvaged vehicles and the sorting of different metal types.

The primary services offered by Fox Valley Iron & Metal, Inc. revolve around two main areas: auto salvage and scrap metal recycling.

Under the auto salvage aspect, they acquire late and early model vehicles, whether operational or not. These vehicles are then processed, and usable parts are either sold directly to customers or dismantled by skilled auto dismantlers on-site. For customers seeking auto parts, this can be a cost-effective alternative to purchasing new components. Their inventory of vehicles is typically organized to make it easier for customers to find the parts they need. For vehicles that are no longer roadworthy, Fox Valley Iron & Metal offers a service to accept and pick up salvage vehicles, providing an avenue for responsible disposal and potential cash for owners.

In terms of scrap metal recycling, Fox Valley Iron & Metal accepts a wide variety of ferrous and non-ferrous metals. This includes common items like iron, aluminum (such as siding and cans), copper, brass, stainless steel, and lead. They also purchase larger items like old semi-trailers, kitchen appliances, scrapped water heaters, and electric motors. This service allows individuals and businesses to responsibly dispose of metal waste and potentially earn money from it. They function as a buy-back center for these materials, contributing to environmental sustainability by diverting metal from landfills and facilitating its reuse through recycling.

Features of Fox Valley Iron & Metal, Inc. include their role as a comprehensive junkyard and metal recycling company. They aim to provide a convenient way for individuals to turn their scrap metal or old vehicles into cash. For auto parts, their inventory of salvaged vehicles is likely extensive, allowing them to stock a wide range of used components for various makes and models. The process for selling scrap metal involves weighing materials and paying customers based on the current market rates for different types of metal.

However, it is crucial to address the customer reviews provided, which highlight significant concerns regarding the business's features and practices. One customer reported a highly negative experience concerning pricing transparency and integrity when attempting to purchase a used auto part. The review states, "I talked to them on 3 different occasions about a part and the guy at the parts desk quoted me a price. When I drove all the way to inspect the part and purchase it, he guy quoted the same price to me. All good, right? After inspecting the part and agreeing to purchase it, he more than doubled the asking price and wouldn't honor the quoted price from 10 minutes earlier. While I was inspecting the part, he did some 'research' and realized he was 'a little low and I should be happy I was still getting a good price'. The new price wasn't a good price, the part was cracked but fixable. He didn't see it that way so I left empty handed and drove quite a way for nothing. Steer clear of this shady place." This review suggests a lack of consistent pricing and a potential for price changes without prior notice, which can lead to dissatisfaction and wasted time for customers.

Another review raises concerns about the pricing for scrap metal: "Never bring your scrap metal to this place. Everyone else is paying $.50 a pound for aluminum siding. After I already unloaded it, they only gave $.25." This feedback indicates that the prices offered for scrap metal may be significantly lower than what other local recyclers are paying, potentially disadvantaging customers who bring in materials. The timing of this revelation—after the material has already been unloaded—further exacerbates the negative experience.

Given these reviews, potential customers should approach transactions with Fox Valley Iron & Metal, Inc. with caution and consider verifying pricing thoroughly before committing to a purchase or dropping off scrap metal. It would be prudent for customers to request written quotes for parts and to inquire about scrap metal pricing before unloading materials to ensure transparency and avoid similar negative experiences.

Regarding promotional information, no specific promotional campaigns or ongoing deals are explicitly mentioned in the provided information. As a business dealing in auto salvage and scrap metal, their primary draw for customers would typically be competitive pricing for used parts and scrap metal. However, the customer reviews suggest that their pricing may not always be competitive or consistently honored. Therefore, any promotional efforts would need to address these concerns directly to build customer trust.

In summary, Fox Valley Iron & Metal, Inc. functions as an auto parts store in the sense that they offer used auto parts salvaged from vehicles. They also operate as a scrap metal recycling center, purchasing various metals from the public. While they provide essential services for vehicle disposal and parts sourcing, potential customers are advised to exercise caution due to reported inconsistencies in pricing and customer service, as indicated by recent reviews.

I bought a used rim for a trailer I purchased from them. The guy that works there told me it would fit my trailer. I had taken the tire off the trailer and had it with me. When I went home and tried the rim it did not fit. I immediately took it back and asked for my money back (30 minutes) later. The guy said sorry, nothing can be returned, the only thing I can do is give you in store credit. I have no reason to ever use this credit and I told him that. After some unfriendly words were passed, mostly by me I thought OK maybe I could get a used car battery that maybe I might use in a boat or something. I took the good battery home and guess what? It wouldn’t hold a charge on my smart charger!! I am keeping the dead battery because I never want to see that guys face again!!!!!!

Bought a rim from here. Gave them the exact make and model of my car and when they sold me it it didn’t fit. Tried to return it but they said I didn’t buy it from them. Ended up scrapping it and lost 20$. Ain’t much but still bs. Wouldn’t recommend going here for anything.
