For vehicle owners in Santa Monica, California, and the surrounding areas, finding a reliable and competent auto repair station is crucial for maintaining the health and functionality of their vehicles. Fix Car Now, located at 2450 Colorado Ave, Santa Monica, CA 90404, operates within the platform category of Auto Repair Stations, offering a range of services and goods related to vehicle maintenance and repair. Based on recent customer feedback available online, the experiences at this establishment appear to be mixed, with some customers reporting positive outcomes while others have expressed significant dissatisfaction.
One customer, who was new to California and seeking a trustworthy mechanic, shared a detailed and negative experience with Fix Car Now. They brought their car in due to a sudden issue of excessive fuel consumption and poor acceleration. The initial diagnosis involved something other than the fuel issue and a supposedly dead battery with "no cells left." A belt was replaced, and the customer paid for both the diagnosis and the repair, initially believing the problem was resolved. However, just 20 miles down the road, the new belt began making noise. Upon further inspection, it was discovered that the wrong size belt had been installed, which allegedly caused the car's air conditioning system to break. The shop then attributed the AC malfunction to wiring issues and subsequently to an old compressor, despite the customer having replaced it only three years prior. Furthermore, the customer questioned the diagnosis of their original battery, suggesting it might have only been low on cells and still had some life left. The reviewer also mentioned that Fix Car Now offered to fix the AC for free if the customer brought in the parts, which would still entail a $400 expense. Critically, the original issue of spontaneous fuel guzzling was never resolved, despite the customer incurring a $700 charge. This detailed account raises serious concerns about the accuracy of diagnoses, the competency of repairs, the potential for misdiagnosis leading to further damage, and the overall customer service experience.
In stark contrast, another customer reported a positive experience, stating that Fix Car Now is "by far the least expensive place I take my BMW." They praised the shop for working hard to provide excellent customer service and for their ability to fix almost any problem brought to them. This feedback suggests that Fix Car Now may offer competitive pricing and a broad range of repair capabilities, at least for some customers and specific vehicle makes.
A third reviewer described Fix Car Now as "a great convenient place for routine services." This indicates that the shop may be a suitable option for regular maintenance tasks, such as oil changes, tire rotations, and other common services. However, this review does not provide details about their handling of more complex or unusual issues.
Based on these varied reviews, the services offered at Fix Car Now likely include:
- General mechanical diagnosis and repair
- Battery testing and replacement
- Belt replacement
- Air conditioning service and repair (though with conflicting reports on the quality)
- Routine maintenance services (e.g., oil changes, tire rotations)
- Potentially specialized service for certain makes like BMW (as mentioned by one reviewer)
The environment of Fix Car Now is not explicitly described in the provided reviews. A typical auto repair shop includes a service bay area where vehicles are worked on, a reception or waiting area for customers, and potentially an office for consultations and billing. The contrasting customer experiences do not offer any clear indication of the shop's cleanliness, organization, or overall atmosphere.
The features of Fix Car Now appear to be a point of contention based on the available feedback. One potential feature is competitive pricing, as highlighted by the BMW owner. Another could be convenience for routine services, as mentioned by another reviewer. However, the negative review raises serious concerns about the accuracy of diagnoses, the quality of repairs (specifically regarding belt sizing and AC repair), and the potential for additional issues to be created during service. The offer to fix the AC for free if the customer provided parts could be seen as a feature of willingness to rectify mistakes, but the significant cost of the parts still places a financial burden on the customer due to the initial misdiagnosis and incorrect repair.
There is no explicit promotional information provided in the reviews. Auto repair shops sometimes offer discounts on specific services, seasonal specials, or introductory offers for new customers. Local users would need to contact Fix Car Now directly to inquire about any current promotions.
Given the significantly contrasting customer experiences, local users considering Fix Car Now for their auto repair needs should exercise caution and weigh the reported positives (competitive pricing, convenience for routine service) against the serious negatives (misdiagnosis, incorrect repairs, potential for causing further damage, unresolved initial issues). It would be prudent for potential customers to seek additional reviews from other sources, inquire in detail about diagnoses and repair procedures, and potentially obtain second opinions for complex issues. The specific needs of the vehicle (e.g., routine maintenance versus complex mechanical or electrical problems) might also influence the decision to use this particular auto repair station.
In summary, Fix Car Now in Santa Monica offers auto repair services that have elicited mixed reactions from customers. While some have found their pricing competitive and their service satisfactory for routine maintenance and specific makes like BMW, others have reported significant issues with diagnostic accuracy, repair quality, and the resolution of problems. Local users should carefully consider these differing experiences when deciding whether to entrust their vehicle to Fix Car Now.
For local users considering Fix Car Now, the following points summarize the available information:
- Range of Services: Offers general mechanical repair, battery and belt replacement, AC service, and routine maintenance.
- Potentially Competitive Pricing: One reviewer found their BMW service to be inexpensive.
- Convenient for Routine Services: Another reviewer noted its convenience for regular maintenance.
- Serious Concerns Regarding Diagnostic Accuracy: One customer reported misdiagnosis and unresolved issues.
- Questionable Repair Quality: Incorrect belt size led to AC damage in one instance.
- Potential for Additional Problems: Repairs may inadvertently cause new issues.
- Unresolved Initial Complaints: The original problem of fuel guzzling was not fixed for one customer.
- No Explicit Promotions: Local users should inquire about any current offers.
- Location: Situated on Colorado Ave in Santa Monica, CA.
Local residents in need of auto repair in Santa Monica may find Fix Car Now to be a convenient or potentially lower-cost option for certain services. However, the significant negative experience reported by one customer serves as a strong caution, urging potential customers to proceed with due diligence, seek detailed explanations, and possibly consider alternative auto repair stations, especially for complex or critical vehicle issues.

Fix Car Now Customer Reviews
I am from out of state , just moved in CA, so i did not get a chance to find a trusting mechanic. . my car guzzles gas out of the blue for like 3 mins, it barely catches the acceleration. starts the next day for them. they explain its something else and the battery. they claimed the battery has no cells left. well they put a belt on the car, i pay for both thinking everything is good... he seems like a nice guy, 20 miles down the road... belt is making noise, turns out they put the wrong size belt on my car and caused my A/C to break in the process. they claim its wiring issues, then its an old compressor, when i really had it replaced 3 years ago. Also, my original battery was working fine, it may have been low on cells and atleast a couple months left to it. This guy has eyes of a gambler, kooodos to him for not needing sleeping pills. (PS they offered a deal to bring the parts to them to fix it for free, but still that is 400 dollars) Also, THEY DID NOT EVEN FIX THE PROBLEM, my car still guzzles gas spontaneously.... ($700 it costed me).

This service repair shop is by far the least expensive place I take my BMW. They work hard to provide excellent customer service and seem to be able to fix almost any problem I bring in. A great convenient place for routine services.
