Firestone Complete Auto Care Introduce

Firestone Complete Auto Care at 10019 Rea Rd, Charlotte, NC 28277, USA, operates as a prominent "Auto Repair Station" within the automotive service industry. As part of a large national chain, this location aims to provide a comprehensive suite of vehicle maintenance, repair, and tire services. You can reach them by phone at (704) 246-3555 or via mobile at +1 704-246-3555.

Environment and Customer Experience

As a national brand, Firestone Complete Auto Care locations typically feature a standardized layout designed for customer convenience. This usually includes a clean customer waiting area, often equipped with amenities such as Wi-Fi and television to make the wait more comfortable. The service bay area is generally organized and equipped with modern tools and diagnostic equipment to handle various vehicle types. The goal is to present a professional and efficient environment.

However, customer experiences at this specific location, as reported in reviews, paint a mixed picture regarding the overall environment and interaction. One customer highlighted excellent execution of a minor repair. This suggests that the technicians possess the skills to perform necessary work effectively. Conversely, another review describes a significantly negative encounter. This customer reported issues such as staff being unable to drive a manual transmission vehicle, requiring the customer to pull their own car into the bay. More critically, the review detailed damage to a vehicle's rim and a stripped wheel lock lug during a tire change. The customer's attempt to address these issues with the manager reportedly met with a lack of accountability, with the manager allegedly laughing and disclaiming responsibility. This feedback points to potential inconsistencies in staff training, attention to detail, and customer conflict resolution at this particular branch, contrasting sharply with the expectation of a professional and responsible service environment typically associated with a large brand like Firestone.

Comprehensive Services Offered

As a "Complete Auto Care" center, Firestone offers an extensive array of services that cover nearly every aspect of vehicle maintenance and repair. Their offerings go beyond basic tire services, encompassing a full spectrum of automotive care. Common services typically provided at this type of facility include:

  • Tire Sales and Services: Firestone is renowned for its tire products. They offer a wide selection of tires for various vehicle types and driving conditions. Services include tire mounting, balancing, rotation, flat repairs, and wheel alignment.
  • Oil Changes: Standard and synthetic oil changes, along with filter replacements, are routine services.
  • Brake Services: Comprehensive brake inspections, pad and rotor replacement, brake fluid flushes, and repair of anti-lock braking systems (ABS).
  • Battery Services: Testing, replacement, and recycling of automotive batteries.
  • Vehicle Inspections and Diagnostics: Thorough multi-point inspections to identify potential issues and advanced diagnostic services for check engine lights and other warning indicators.
  • Suspension and Steering Repair: Addressing issues with shocks, struts, ball joints, tie rods, and power steering systems.
  • Air Conditioning Service: Diagnostics, repair, and recharging of automotive AC systems.
  • Engine Repair: From minor tune-ups to more complex engine diagnostics and repairs.
  • Fluid Services: Checks and replacements for transmission fluid, coolant, power steering fluid, and differential fluid.

The "Complete Auto Care" designation implies that they aim to be a one-stop shop for automotive needs, allowing customers to address multiple concerns at a single location.

Features and Quality Assurance

Firestone Complete Auto Care locations generally leverage the brand's national reputation for quality and reliability. Key features include:

  • Certified Technicians: Many Firestone locations employ ASE-certified technicians, ensuring that repairs are performed by trained professionals.
  • Warranties: As a national chain, Firestone typically offers warranties on parts and labor for their services, providing customers with peace of mind. Specific warranty details would be available at the store.
  • Advanced Equipment: They often utilize up-to-date diagnostic tools and equipment to accurately identify and resolve vehicle problems.
  • Digital Inspections: Many modern auto care centers provide digital vehicle inspections, offering customers clear photos and videos of their vehicle's condition and recommended repairs.

However, the customer feedback on this specific location presents a challenge to these expected features. The report of a damaged rim and stripped lug suggests issues with the execution of services and potentially a lack of adherence to quality standards or proper training in specific tasks. The response from management regarding these issues also raises questions about the effectiveness of their customer service protocols and accountability for mistakes.

Promotional Information and Sales Practices

Firestone Complete Auto Care frequently runs various promotions and offers to attract customers. These can include discounts on specific services like oil changes, tire sales (e.g., "Buy 3 Get 1 Free" or rebates), brake service specials, and financing options through Firestone credit cards. These promotions are typically advertised on their website and in-store.

One customer review, however, highlights a significant concern regarding sales practices at this location. The customer reported being advised to have "multiple unnecessary repairs," with a particular emphasis on needing new tires despite their current tires being in good condition, properly rotated, and under warranty from the dealer. This experience raises questions about the balance between genuine repair recommendations and sales targets, and whether the focus is always on the customer's actual needs versus upselling. The "service or sales" dilemma articulated by the customer suggests that potential clients should be vigilant and well-informed about their vehicle's condition when receiving recommendations from this location, especially concerning items like tires where the brand has a strong vested interest in sales.

Firestone Complete Auto Care Customer Reviews

The service I took my car for was excellent. My issue is as follows, is this service or sales? I brought my car in for a minor repair. They did a fantastic job. They later wanted to have a consultation about multiple unnecessary repairs. The one that stuck out the most was needing new tires. I know that Firestone is known for tires but the sign said complete auto repair. My tires did not need replacing they are properly rotated and under warranty from the dealer I bought them from. See photo not even close to the warning line

Beyond excellent!!! Pete, the manager was extremely professional and helpful. He runs a tight ship. Also, Sabrine and Aubrey were very helpful and knowledgeable as well. Appointment was on time and work done in a timely manner. My best experience at a tire store. I live 2 hrs away and may come back when I need new tires.

I made an appointment to have 2 front tires changed, I dropped my car off at 8am which my appointment was set for & upon arrival was asked when I needed it back I Said as soon as possible & was told it would be finished by 11am. Hours went by with no update so by 1pm I called asking what the latest update was & was then told it should be ready by 2:30 but they would give me a call to let me know. Being that I was already told a certain time & nobody contacted me to let me know what was what I decided to return at 2:30 to see where the process was, upon arrival my car was sitting in the same exact spot it was when I dropped it off lol meaning it was never serviced nor with any plans to be. I went inside & spoke with a gentleman who let me know he would go check to see what the update was, when he came back he let me know that someone was just about to start working on it (as he's telling me this I see an associate JUST NOW driving my car towards the garage to be serviced at 2:45 !!!) I told the young man to retrieve my keys because I no longer wanted the service. I understand things get busy but communication is key, if my car wasn't going to be serviced until 2:45 I shouldn't have been told 11am & then after 11am passed then 2:30 & then after 2:30 passed just now getting to my service because I came up to say something. I hope AI takes over certain jobs because obviously humans are too incompetent.

I came in as a "walk-in". The service was pretty quick and I appreciated the honesty/integrity of the gentleman checking me in. I had a nail in my driver rear tire. As I was preparing to pay and asking for an estimate of the price point, The gentleman advised it would be at no cost as the tire I'd purchased from you all was still under warranty. As a woman I appreciated not being taking advantage of as that sometimes happens in the service industry! Well done!
