I am a professional car guy. Took my client's 2013 Prius in for "Brake&Light inspection" or now it's called "Safety Inspection" at this EL MONTE EASY AUTO. Before I took the car in I already checked and fixed every single light bulbs make sure all in working condition. Brake pads, tire conditions and pressure are decent. Mr. Edgar is very friendly and explain to me this inspection process usually takes about an hour or so. He and his partner did the inspection and passed it. I have see other ppl complaining there is no seating area, I have to say, they do provide courtesy folding chairs if you ask. This is a small business. Don't be coming here expecting a A/C sofa lounge VIP room. This is the place I will be happy and continue doing business with. Joe

Hope you folks read this B-4 you deal with these type of "Shenanigans" from this locations automotive services, if not, your in for a big surprise! $$ Went in for a lamp & brake Insp. turns out brake discs. required a "Resurfacing" due to paralellism issues on their inpection of the brakes which was supposed to be a less inexpensive alternative Vs. replacing with new everything, disc rotors / pads etc at a substantial mark up. to that point it was ok and I proceeded with the less costly option resurfacing the rotors. Prior to touching the vehicle, all was working and braking 100% perfect with good material percentages on the brake pads as they made mention of it. After $165 for Insp. & $140 for a recommended rotor disc. resurfacing correction, Immediately soon after driving off the shop at 5:45 p.m. the car began to do a horrendous brake wobble and vibration issue while braking, indicating to me that the rotors where either cut wrong as I heard their lathe machine cutting into them and their repeated lengthy recuts as I listened to the process and surely ruining a good set of perfectly fine disc. rotors, which may have perhaps only had a mininal difference in thicknesses compliance. Also the onsite mechanic, I observed his hands on mechanic aptitudes, he leaves one caliper suspended off the brake line hose causing a potential damage to the brake line caliper connector, while the other side was suspended on a hook as it's supposed to be! As I pointed this out to the mechanic, the guy quickly corrects the hanging caliper. Duhh! Fortunately eventhough I had to go back for a clear & updated "Vehicle Safety Report", they didn't charge for a 2nd Inspection, however It was highly suspected that was their intention from their attitudes I observed while their on a 2nd visit which I really didn't want to deal with this place again. I personally had to replace the disc rotors & pads myself and fix! the failed rotor resurfacing issues which created a substantial issue on driveability. Only then was the "created" brake issue resolved by....Me! Surely my review will be responded to their own resolve and cover up. ☝️Heed the warning! Becareful folks who you take and put your trust in automotive shops that are out to gouge and create charges unnecesarily to the public with a taste of B.S. to get you with some more $$.. Never completely trust a soft spoken easy going communication, because more that likely it's a lure to make one feel at ease from wolves in sheeps clothing. I'm not one to complain much honestly,☝️ but this time I was discusted with this experience overall.. Sorry but this had to be said, Hope this helps unsuspecting clients. 🧐Coincidently people were also failing "Smog Tests" while there, go figure! 🤔

Joe Castillo's previous review is completely spot-on! My father, a lifetime mechanic, took my younger brother's car to this location for a DMV-required brake light inspection. I won't delve into specifics, but I can say that they treated both an elderly man and a young man with disrespect and in such an unprofessional manner. Biased because they were Hispanic and probably not looking their best. These points should steer you away from this unethical and criminal business! Yes, I understand that there are two sides to a story, but my sister contacted them as if she were a new customer, wondering what their policy would be if her car did not pass inspection. They stated that she would have five days to remedy the problem and return for another free of cost inspection. So, when they saw my father and the car, they changed their policy to, "Well, it was mandatory to fix the problem here with us!" This meant they couldn't take the car to another repair facility, and they had to pay an extra $165! This establishment is illegally operating! I will register a complaint with the Better Business Bureau (everyone should do this) to guarantee that the state examine their unlawful misconduct. They cannot compel customers to address any car-related issues at their shop or establishment! This constitutes bullying, harassment, illegal, and other forms of forceful behavior! The owner can remedy this with a full refund or once again inspect the car as required free of cost. They cannot impose their business on others; this could be illegal! Doesn't this process resemble a smog check? When you don't pass a smog check, you can go anywhere to fix the problem! I am sure they are trying to take advantage of certain customers. Sorry, my dad and my brother are not alone! And once again, YOU CAN NOT FORCE CUSTOMERS TO FIX ANY ISSUES ONLY AT YOUR SHOP! This is ILLEGAL! Then how DO YOU GUARANTEE THAT YOU ARE FULLY FUNCTIONING LEGALLY? How can you prove that you are just not passing some customers just to gain more business? NOPE 👎🏼 THIS IS ILLEGAL! WOW! Mind blowing! If more people would file complaints through the BBB this business would have to shut down! It cannot be a coincidence that just this year their illegal misconduct has occurred multiple times! PICTURES FROM THE BBB WEBSITE! Check it out! Also, if you feel like they did not try and you need to file a further complaint go to the The Bureau of Automotive Repair (BAR) website, they mediate and investigates complaints…. Don’t stay quiet! These shops are regulated and should be held accountable! **You can try to proceed with legal action, but my review is based on truth! There are also many others that have experienced what my brother and my elderly dad experienced! You are defaming my brother, who is a customer, based on a single encounter you had with him. Whether you are a business owner or employee, you need to EDUCATE YOURSELF in customer service and business management. Stop blaming solely the customers; assigning blame to us also reflects defamation of character. I spoke to my dad, who was present, and he was equally upset. I felt even more upset, despite not being physically present. I learned to respect my elders, and your confrontation with a youngster in front of "his" dad is a testament to the kind of person you are! My dad has had recent health issues, and your attitude about the entire situation could have had a drastic effect on him! Having worked in customer service for over 20 years, I firmly believe that taking customer service training and also taking training in de-escalation, implicit bias, and developing skills that help you respond more effectively to stress will create a better you for your business and could provide valuable insight.
