DriveHere, located at 405 W Elm St, Norristown, PA 19401, functions as a multifaceted automotive business falling under the "Auto Repair Stations" category. The establishment can be reached via phone at (610) 239-7300 or +1 610-239-7300. It appears to operate as both a used car dealership and an associated auto repair facility, providing services and goods related to vehicle sales and maintenance.
From customer feedback, it's evident that DriveHere has a primary focus on facilitating car purchases, especially for individuals in urgent need of a vehicle. One customer noted, "it was fairly easy to get a car which was a life saver because we needed one right away." This suggests a streamlined process for vehicle acquisition, which can be a significant advantage for those facing immediate transportation challenges.
The general environment and customer experience at DriveHere, particularly concerning its auto body shop, have garnered mixed reviews. While the ease of obtaining a car is highlighted, the repair service aspect has faced criticism. One customer's experience sheds light on potential issues: an individual with a warranty covering oil changes and inspections reported significant discrepancies in diagnostic assessments. They were initially told their steering rack was leaking, a master cylinder was needed, and the radiator was leaking, along with other minor issues. However, a second opinion from a different inspection station contradicted these findings, stating that only two calipers were needed for the brakes (not a master cylinder) and that there were no leaks in the steering rack or radiator.
This situation points to concerns about the accuracy of diagnostics provided by DriveHere's auto body shop. The customer also expressed dissatisfaction with the repair shop's stance that these allegedly non-existent problems "HAD to be fixed" for the inspection to pass. This suggests a potential lack of transparency or an aggressive approach to upselling services that may not be genuinely necessary. The overall customer service in the office of the service center was also described as lacking, with an observation that "the ppl in the office all they do is be online and talking not a welcomed place." Additionally, issues with timeliness were noted, with one customer stating their appointment was delayed by "about 45 minutes" and still waiting an hour later for their car.
As an entity categorized under "Auto Repair Stations," DriveHere offers a range of services related to vehicle maintenance and repair, alongside its car sales operations. Based on customer feedback, the services primarily include:
Vehicle Sales: A core aspect of DriveHere is facilitating the acquisition of cars, particularly used vehicles. The ease of getting a car quickly is a noted benefit for customers in immediate need.
Vehicle Inspections: DriveHere's auto body shop conducts vehicle inspections, which are often a requirement for vehicle registration and safety in Pennsylvania. However, as noted in customer reviews, the accuracy and integrity of these inspections have been questioned.
Routine Maintenance: Services like oil changes are offered, often covered by extended warranty plans purchased through the dealership. This indicates a provision for basic vehicle upkeep.
Specific Repairs: The repair shop undertakes fixes for various vehicle components, including brakes, steering systems, and cooling systems, as indicated by the customer's experience with the master cylinder, steering rack, and radiator diagnoses.
Tire Services: The need for "new tired " and previous "tie rod brakes" fixed within a year suggests they also handle tire-related services and suspension component repairs.
It's important for potential customers to understand that while DriveHere offers auto repair, the details from existing reviews suggest that the quality and necessity of some repair recommendations should be independently verified.
DriveHere has a few notable features:
Accessibility for Car Acquisition: A key strength mentioned is the relative ease of acquiring a car, especially for those who need a vehicle without delay. This suggests a flexible or simplified car-buying process.
Optional Warranty Programs: The availability of an "extra weekly" payment for a warranty that covers services like oil changes and inspections is a feature. However, the value of this warranty is directly tied to the reliability of the associated service center.
However, the negative experiences shared by customers highlight several significant concerns:
Diagnostic Discrepancies: The most prominent issue is the reported inaccuracy of diagnostic assessments at the auto body shop. Customers have found that issues identified by DriveHere were not confirmed by other mechanics, leading to wasted money on unnecessary repairs.
Pressure to Perform Unnecessary Repairs: The insistence that customers "HAD to fix" things that were reportedly not broken in order to pass inspection is a serious concern, indicating potential unethical practices.
Customer Service and Efficiency Issues: Reviews point to a lack of professional engagement from office staff and significant delays in service appointments, contributing to a "not a welcomed place" feeling for customers.
Repeat Repairs: The complaint about needing "new tired " and "tie rod brakes" fixed in "less than a yr" implies that the quality of previous repairs might be questionable, leading to recurrent problems.
While specific promotional offers are not detailed in the provided information, the existence of a weekly payment warranty program suggests a focus on recurring customer engagement through service packages. For potential customers, it is advisable to exercise caution when considering DriveHere for auto repair services. Given the consistent negative feedback regarding diagnostic accuracy and service quality, it would be prudent to:
Seek Multiple Opinions: For any significant repair recommendations from DriveHere, it is highly recommended to obtain a second (or even third) opinion from another reputable, independent auto repair shop.
Thoroughly Review Warranty Terms: Customers interested in their warranty programs should carefully review the terms and conditions, especially regarding what specific issues are covered, the process for claims, and the resolution for disputed diagnoses.
Prioritize Car Buying Separately from Repair: If considering DriveHere for car acquisition due to its ease, it might be advisable to consider independent repair shops for subsequent maintenance and repairs, rather than relying solely on their in-house auto body shop, based on the aforementioned customer experiences.
The provided reviews predominantly reflect significant dissatisfaction with the auto repair aspect of DriveHere, particularly concerning diagnostic integrity and service efficiency. While the car acquisition process may be convenient, potential customers should be aware of the reported challenges with their auto body shop services.

I will say it was fairly easy to get a car which was a life saver because we needed one right away. Did have a few problems with people's commerce but my bad review is concerning there auto body shop. I pay extra weekly for there warranty which covers oil change and inspections. Go to get my car inspected for the first time and was told my steering rack(500) was leaking, I needed a master cylinder(150), and my radiator was leaking(never quoted) and a few other small things like lights and tires. Replace the master cylinder still have a problem with brakes and never had a problem with steering or overheating so took it to a different inspection station and was told that I needed two calipers not a master cylinder( money wasted) and there wasn't a leak in either the steering rack or radiator. Called the auto body shop and explained to them that they must have been wrong on assessment and was told that if I wanted it inspected I HAD to fix those things. Things that weren't broken needed to be fixed? Puzzled I called people's commerce and explained and they were fair. Told me to bring in the receipt of inspection and the could possibly give me a payment off. Completely dissatisfied with the auto body shop and definitely feel something should be done.

Refrain from shopping with DriveHere of possible. I myself, coming out of a harsh divorce had no choice. After receiving the vehicle the A/C compressor went out. The lot agreed to fix it for free but the next appt. wasn't available for 3 weeks so my son & I sucked it up & sweat for 3 weeks. Finally my appt. day came & they took the car in a hour late & kept it overnight for a guaranteed 2-hr job. The Uber home, back to the garage then back home was $110. DONT BELIEVE THE LOANER AD! Ben & Jose were working both days and were very rude and inconsiderate. Fast forward 2 months, the compressor blows again along with the alternator. Now it's my expense since the warranty is up. Must admit, GOOD SCAM! STAY AWAY! SAVE & BUY CAR OUTRIGHT & REPAIR CREDIT.

This is the service center. They are so unorganized. You call to set an appointment about a problem, go there tho get it diagnosed, and then have to set up another appointment cuz they got to order the part. Or when you get your appointment to get your problem fixed, they don't have the part ordered. This place will drive you crazy. They know how to make you burn gas.
