Worst body shop in town. Will take your vehicle a week before parts arrive so it can just sit outside. Late on the estimate of when it will be done. Calling and asking for the status will only anger them and prove them to be liars. One person says its "being painted" and call the next day and another says its "waiting for paint" the next day "paint is drying" and the day after its "being primed for painting". If you go in person to ask the status a week after they said it will be done they will tell you "it will be done when its done" and they have no obligation to get you your vehicle in a timley manner. I reccomend everyone, espically State Farm customers stay far away from this place. Use literally anyone else. Ill even put my name on this review. Jeremy W. so they can figure out who they treat so poorly. Update: Was called a Liar over the phone over this post within 90 minutes of posting. My "Target Date" was changed to be 5 days longer than origionally expected. And now im being treated like they are doing me a favor. Could hardly get in a word over the phone because the manager kept talking over me. He would not (probally because he could not) give me an explination on why different staff were giving me different stories about my truck's status. If I had to make an educated guess I would say they are deliberately dragging feet with me as some form of punishment for calling them out. All trust with Davis (whom my family, friends any I been using for years) is completely eroded due to the rudeness and confrentational attitude of everyone there except for the gal working the front desk. Final update. I picked up my truck. I'm assuming it was the manager who shouted over me on the phone that I was a liar did the test drive and didn't even look me in the eye when the truck was returned back to the shop He just plopped the keys down with the nice gal at the desk without even trying to bury the hatchet. I guess he's still touchy about the review and the phone call. Imagine the work he could get done if he spent less time on Google and more time managing the shop. It was never washed like I was told. It even has some extra bird droppings on it that were not there when I dropped it off. The issue it was there for was a fender and bumper. For some reason my driver's side window no longer rolls up like it used to. It's laggy and I can hear abnormal squeaking. My hood that was not damaged was repainted shoddily. With obvious waves and bumps in the paint. I will be informing my insurance company that they were essentially billed for work that I believe is unnecessary. The inside of my truck is covered in metallic dust particles which will take a afternoon to clean out. In conclusion they followed up the worst customer service I had ever experienced in the automotive industry with some of the most embarrassing low tier work I have ever seen in the automotive industry in addition to them doing work that I feel is not necessary. Blah blah blah blending colors blah blah. I will not be taking my truck back to have them clean out the metal that they left inside. I will not be bringing it back for the wash that is part of the "protocol" that they do when they finish a job. And I will not be returning to have them inspect my driver side window that was running fine before they touched it. I couldn't be more disappointed. Additional update. Went in today because one of my headlights was not installed properly and it is loose and now filled with water due to the recent rain. The rubber sealing around my doors were never clipped in so there is now water damage and water getting into my doors. And to cap it off an employee named Lupe or Loo-pay (spelling unsure) came out side while I was speaking to a nicer gentleman and started dropping f-bombs and challenging me to fight in front of the other employee. He was behind his desk when I got there and never a part of the conversation. He took it upon himself to come outside to threaten me. I will not set foot on the property again without the police to ensure my safety.

The Davis Autobody team did an exceptional job repairing our pickup. Great communication throughout the entire process and the repair and finish was fantastic. I highly recommend Davis Autobody!

Waited almost a week for an appointment for an estimate just to have Lupe refuse to even give one. Rude from the moment our daughter walked in, then rude to me on the phone. Pretty easy to give a basic customer estimate for a simple repair of a body panel, instead just glanced and said totalled. Shop down the street had no issue and got us in within the hour.

Over the past 20 or so years I've had 3 of my vehicles repaired at Davis Auto Body in Atascadero. They have done an excellent job every time, no complaints. Now, on Fri. 10-11-2024 shortly before noon, I take my vehicle to them once again, WOW what a reception! A few days earlier I was rear ended and needed a new rear bumper replaced. As I walked into the office there was no one at the front desk and a unfamiliar gentleman sitting at the computer in the next room. I stood for a moment and a young lady walked out from the back, came to the front desk and, without a smile, hello can I help you, or even eye contact, grabbed something from the desk and walked away. The guy at the computer turned and ask "Can I help you", smiling and humorously I responded, "yep I'm here to make you some money". He came to the desk and repeated himself. I said "I got rear ended in Santa Barbara the other day and need my car fixed" He ask if I had insurance, and I told him "Yes but the other driver's Ins. is going to cover it", Then he muttered something about cash and insurance, and I ask if he wanted to look at my car. Outside he once again ask about Insurance, I informed him that "Farmers Ins" was the insured that was going to cover it. Never at any time did this guy smile or act as though he was interested in my business...Then blowing me away he said..."You don't need to be so rude about it, I ask you a simple question". Now I'm wondering why this guy was so confrontational. I responded with "Look, I got rear ended, the guys insurance carrier is Farmers, I have a Claim number and an adjusters name and number, I just need to get the thing fixed"...You would think that should do it but noooo. Now he comes back with "I don't care for your attitude", I said you ask a question, I gave you the answer, can we take care of this? was my response. Now he continues with his comments as to how I was so rude an didn't need to talk to him that way. He was more interested in a fight than taking care of business. I ended with "I just came here to give you some business and get my car fixed, and all you want to do is argue?, I'll go somewhere else, have a nice day" and we both walked away. I simply wanted to thank Davis Auto Body for this experience, I have now found another shop that does good work for a lower price and a much more attentive and friendly staff!

I got my car fixed by Davis Body Auto. I worked with a gentleman named Lupe. He was wonderful to work with and helped me with any questions. They did a great job fixing my car. It was hit from behind and it looks brand new. Thank you, Lupe and your team. I would highly recommend these folks.

I’ve had MANY cars that have been repaired at a body shop. I know some of them cut corners but this place is TERRIBLE. Paint doesn’t match, huge gap in bumper and it’s rubbing on another taking the paint off. Taillight is scratched too, was perfect before I took it in. As I get into the car to drive off the Blindspot monitor light went off so they put it back on the lift and said they fixed it. They didn’t. I just got the car back from dealership and the sensor wasn’t even plugged in!!! Also the tech informed me and replaced 9 clips they just left out! They figure If a customer can’t see it they don’t have to fix that part. This is why your insurance wants you to come here! DONT! You have the right to choose any shop you want!
