I’ve only been here once, but Dave seemed honest and authentic. He quoted and charged me half the price of the SLO Subaru dealership and didn’t try to upsell me on unnecessary extras. Very polite and professional, and got the work done in the time he said it should take. Highly recommend!

“Dave’s Auto Repair was a breath of fresh air. He very much took care of me, and I can tell that he’s a person who looks for a long-term customer versus a transactional customer. I’ve been in the auto industry myself. Dave, from the moment he answered the phone all the way up to receiving my keys, was incredibly polite, cordial, and respectful. He also definitely took into consideration what I was after and how meticulous I am when it comes to my personal vehicles. He didn’t overcharge me, and I thought the price for the job was very fair. Some competitors in the area were brandishing a ‘perfect’ five-star review, which I don’t think is possible, and were over double the cost of his repairs. They were offering the same style of part but were double or triple charging me on labor or small, meaningless fees, or even double charging to do the same piece of work. I highly recommend Dave to anybody who needs a shop. He is my go-to for sure. I called over 15 locations in the San Luis Obispo area, and his shop came in as number one for me based on my experience.”

I called Dave about a noise my car was making and he was able to check it out the same day. I was prepared to pay for his time but he did not charge me to diagnose this simple issue. I highly recommend Dave's Automotive as he is a straight shooter. Thank you, Dave!

Awesome service! Been using Dave's Automotive for over 10 years and happy every time. Most recent visit was for a Smog, I made an appointment, they were ready for it when I got there and I was done less than 30 minutes later. Always friendly and honest work. Highly recommended.
