Century Heating and Air Conditioning Introduce

For local users in Lynwood, California, considering automotive repair services, Century Heating and Air Conditioning appears within the "Auto Repair Stations" platform category. It is important to note that despite its name, which typically suggests HVAC (heating, ventilation, and air conditioning) services for homes or businesses, the provided customer reviews clearly indicate that this specific establishment at the given address primarily caters to automotive repair needs, specifically for vehicles such as trucks and cars. This discrepancy in naming versus actual service focus is a critical point for potential customers to understand.

Located at 3200 Martin Luther King Jr Blvd, Lynwood, CA 90262, USA, Century Heating and Air Conditioning is situated on a prominent road, likely ensuring relatively easy access. The environment of such an auto repair facility would typically consist of a garage with multiple bays equipped for vehicle maintenance and repair. This would include various tools, diagnostic equipment, and lifts to work on different parts of a vehicle, from engine components to exhaust systems. A reception area for customers to check in and discuss their vehicle's issues would also be expected. However, based on the provided customer reviews, while the physical setup might be that of a standard auto repair shop, the overall customer experience within this environment, particularly regarding service interaction and parts quality, warrants a detailed examination. The reviews suggest a less-than-ideal customer service approach and concerns about the materials used in repairs.

The services provided by Century Heating and Air Conditioning, based on customer feedback, include general automotive repairs for vehicles like trucks and cars. Specific services mentioned in the reviews include:

  • Catalytic Converter Replacement: This is a significant repair, crucial for emissions control and proper engine function. The customer notes having catalytic converters replaced.
  • Fuel Pump Replacement: Another essential component for vehicle operation, responsible for delivering fuel to the engine. The customer mentions having a fuel pump replaced.
  • Diagnosis of Vehicle Issues: One customer specifically sought diagnosis for "why it was using more gas," indicating they offer troubleshooting services for common vehicle problems.
While the name implies a specialization in automotive heating and air conditioning, the customer reviews suggest a broader scope of general engine and exhaust system repairs. It is not explicitly stated whether they also perform HVAC repairs on vehicles, but their presence in the "Auto Repair Stations" category and the nature of the reviews indicate a focus on mechanical automotive work.

The features of Century Heating and Air Conditioning, derived directly from customer reviews, present a mixed, and largely concerning, picture.

  • Fair and Decently Priced (initially): One customer initially found the pricing to be "fair and decently priced." This suggests that the upfront cost might appear competitive, which could be a factor in attracting customers.
  • Issue with Parts Quality: A significant concern raised by a long-term customer is the consistent use of "nothing but cheap parts." This led to premature failure of components like catalytic converters and fuel pumps, requiring subsequent replacements at other mechanics. This directly impacts the durability and long-term value of the repairs performed. The customer explicitly warns, "if you're looking for quality and durable parts, make sure to let them know what you want," suggesting that standard practice might involve lower-cost, less durable options.
  • Lack of Transparency in Documentation: The customer also notes that the shop owner's writing is "like a doctor, lots of scribbles and hard to read," making it difficult for customers to understand what is being documented or the terms of any warranty. This lack of clear documentation can lead to misunderstandings and difficulties when parts fail.
  • Unsatisfactory Customer Service/Attitude: Another review details a "horrible first time experience" characterized by a "nastiest attitude from the only mechanic in there." The mechanic reportedly told the customer they "didn't know anything and proceeded to take it somewhere else," leading to the immediate departure of a potential customer. This suggests a significant issue with professionalism and customer interaction, corroborated by the reviewer's observation that "A long list of reviews corroborate my findings."
  • Questionable Warranty Information: The advice to "Make sure you know how much warranty you have!" further highlights a potential lack of clarity or inadequate coverage regarding the longevity of their repairs and parts.
  • Long-Term Reliability Concerns: The recurring theme from a long-term customer is that "In the end, you'll have to replace all the parts you've had repaired," which is a severe indictment of the long-term reliability and value of their services.
These features, as presented by actual customers, suggest significant deficiencies in terms of parts quality, transparency, and customer interaction, which are crucial aspects of any reputable auto repair station.

Given the strongly negative nature of the provided customer reviews, any discussion of promotional information must be framed within a context of caution. While every business aims to attract customers, the current online sentiment suggests that word-of-mouth (both positive and, in this case, overwhelmingly negative) plays a significant role.

  • Initial Perceived Value: As mentioned, the "fair and decently priced" initial estimates might act as a draw for customers seeking lower-cost repair options. However, this appears to be a short-term benefit, potentially offset by long-term issues.
  • Accessibility: Their location on Martin Luther King Jr Blvd and readily available phone numbers, (424) 368-9741 and mobile +1 424-368-9741, facilitate easy contact and visitation.
However, based on the provided reviews, potential customers should be highly cautious and thoroughly investigate their needs and expectations before engaging with Century Heating and Air Conditioning. The advice from a reviewer to "BUYER BEWARE!!!" and "MAKE SURE YOU KNOW WHAT YOU'RE GETTING!!" serves as a direct warning, suggesting that any perceived promotional benefits (like lower initial cost) may be undermined by the quality of parts and service. Customers are advised to explicitly inquire about parts quality (e.g., OEM vs. aftermarket, brand names) and warranty terms in writing to avoid potential future issues. The strong negative reviews regarding rude staff and parts quality are significant deterrents that would likely counteract many typical promotional efforts.

In conclusion, Century Heating and Air Conditioning in Lynwood, CA, operating within the "Auto Repair Stations" category, is an establishment providing automotive repair services, including catalytic converter and fuel pump replacements, despite its name suggesting HVAC. Located at 3200 Martin Luther King Jr Blvd, customer feedback indicates serious concerns regarding the consistent use of low-quality, non-durable parts, leading to repeated failures. Furthermore, reviews highlight significant issues with hostile customer service and a lack of transparency in repair documentation and warranty information. While initially appearing to offer competitive pricing, the long-term cost and inconvenience due to recurring repairs, coupled with poor customer interactions, present a compelling reason for local users to exercise extreme caution and thorough due diligence before considering this repair shop for their automotive needs. The objective assessment based solely on the provided reviews suggests a concerning customer experience.

BUYER BEWARE!!! MAKE SURE YOU KNOW WHAT YOU'RE GETTING!! I've had so much work done by this shop on my truck and always found it to be fair and decently priced.. whats the issue?? My issue is that they've used nothing but cheap parts! All the parts from Catalytic Converters to Fuel Pump have all gone bad. First thing my new mechanic ask is "When did you replace them?" When I tell him, and what I paid, he already knows they put in nothing but cheap parts. Now, you're low on funds, I get it, but if you're looking for quality and durable parts, make sure to let them know what you want, make sure you can read what the shop owner writes. The guy writes like a doctor, lots of scribbles and hard to read. Make sure you know how much warranty you have! In the end, you'll have to replace all the parts you've had repaired. It's time the people know and are aware of the work they're paying for.

I went a few minutes ago today to see if they can take a look at my car as to why it was using more gas. Instead, I received the nastiest attitude from the only mechanic in there. He told me that I didn't know anything and proceeded to take it somewhere else. I immediately left without saying thank you. Horrible first time experience. Lost a potential customer. I see that I'm not the only one who's had this experience. A long list of reviews corroborate my findings. Don't waste your time nor your money here. I'll take my business elsewhere.

Unbelievable customer service, I called to ask if if was a good time to bring my car in ( wanted to see how busy it was since I need my car) guy couldn’t even tell me that. All he said was that it was first come first served... what? I’m not asking that. Just want to know if it’s terribly busy so I wait for another day but the guy just wanted to get off the phone I guess. I came very highly recommended by a customer who bring his cars in all the time( my dad) I didn’t receive any service from this place but with the attitude this guy has I’m very happy I didn’t.

Worst place these guys don't know what they're doing, the old dude in charge moves like a turtle and is full of it. I went in told him my rear brake hardware needed to be looked at and replaced if needed . They used same old rusted hardware and put stuff out of order they don't know how it goes. When my vehicle had same symptoms i removed brake drum and adjuster lever wasn't even touching adjuster screw adjuster cable was just dangling around, i paid $160 for absolutely nothing i took it back told him was still very noisy dude grabbed a water hose and rinsed wheels said was just brake dust even after i told him it was grinding noise not squeeling. Please don't go to these ppl. Waste of money. And owner Kim relies on lazy old latino guy wow.
