Carburetors & More - Carburetor Engine Transmission Rebuild or Repair Shop Introduce

Carburetors & More - Carburetor Engine Transmission Rebuild or Repair Shop, located at 3071 E Fremont St, Las Vegas, NV 89104, USA, operates as a specialized "Auto Repair Station" within the Las Vegas automotive landscape. They can be reached via phone at (702) 331-4961 or mobile at +1 702-331-4961. As its name suggests, this establishment focuses on complex and often intricate vehicle components, particularly carburetors, engines, and transmissions, catering to a specific niche in the auto repair market that often includes classic or older vehicles with carbureted systems.

Environment and Customer Interaction

The physical environment of Carburetors & More would be typical of an auto repair shop, featuring bays for vehicle servicing, equipped with specialized tools and machinery for engine and transmission work, and, crucially, tools specific to carburetor repair and rebuilding. Given the nature of their specialized services, the shop might have areas dedicated to precision work for carburetor components and engine assembly. The provided reviews, however, shed a light on the customer interaction aspect of the environment. One review describes the office staff (David & Tony) as initially "ok" but becoming "a little rude, short, dismissive & act like you are bugging them" once payment is received. This feedback suggests a potential disconnect in customer service post-transaction, which can significantly impact the overall customer experience regardless of the physical surroundings. Another review, however, praises the team as "professional" and notes they "followed up with me afterward to ensure everything was running smoothly," indicating varying customer experiences. The shop's general operating hours appear to be Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, based on publicly available information.

Specialized Services and Goods for Sale

Carburetors & More positions itself as a highly specialized "Auto Repair Station" with a core focus on complex mechanical systems. Their primary services include:

  • Carburetor Rebuild and Repair: This is a cornerstone of their business, as indicated by their name. They claim expertise in rebuilding, repairing, adjusting, or exchanging carburetors for a wide range of foreign and domestic cars, trucks, and even marine applications. They state that rebuilt carburetors come pre-adjusted to manufacturer specifications and include a parts and labor warranty. They offer services like carburetor tuning, adjustment, and full replacement.
  • Engine Repair or Replacement: The shop also handles significant engine work, including full engine replacements, as mentioned in a positive review where they replaced a rebuilt engine. This suggests they possess the capability for major powertrain work, from minor repairs to complete rebuilds or replacements.
  • Transmission Repair: Their name also indicates expertise in transmission rebuild or repair, addressing a crucial and often complex component of a vehicle's drivetrain.
  • Fuel System Repair: A review specifically mentions "fuel leak at the tank" repair, indicating their capability to address issues within the broader fuel delivery system beyond just the carburetor, including fuel injection systems.
  • General Auto Repair: While specializing, their website and general presence as an "Auto Repair Station" also imply they offer more general services such as timing belts, water pumps, and brakes. They claim to be a "Complete Auto Repair and Truck Repair Service Center," handling "No Repair to Big or to Small," for all foreign and domestic vehicles, including marine needs.

In terms of "goods for sale," Carburetors & More would primarily provide the necessary components for their specialized repairs. This includes new and remanufactured carburetors, internal engine parts (pistons, gaskets, etc.), transmission components, and other related auto parts. Their focus on rebuilding and repairing suggests they also utilize kits and individual components for intricate work. They also claim to have an inventory of carburetors in stock and can exchange carburetors with remanufactured or brand new units, suggesting a direct supply of these specialized parts, often aiming for same-day service for carburetor exchanges.

Key Features and Customer Experiences

The customer reviews paint a polarized picture of Carburetors & More, highlighting both potential strengths and significant weaknesses:

  • Specialization and Warranty: The shop's name and services indicate a strong specialization in carburetors, engines, and transmissions. For owners of older vehicles or those with specific issues related to these components, a specialized shop can be a valuable resource. They claim a "100% GUARANTEED service" with "Great Parts and Labor WARRANTY" on their repairs, including pre-adjusted rebuilt carburetors to manufacturer specifications.
  • Contrasting Experiences: One customer describes "two great experiences," praising their "attention to detail," "professional" and "timely" team, and their commitment to "guarantees and warranties." This customer felt a "great peace of mind" and highly recommends them for "excellent service and dedication." They specifically mention engine replacement and manifold catalytic converter replacement, indicating their ability to handle complex and significant jobs and even following up post-service to ensure satisfaction.
  • Negative Experience and Concerns: In stark contrast, another detailed review expresses profound dissatisfaction from a customer identifying their specific 1988 Caprice Classic. Key issues raised include:
    • Alleged Incompetence in Specialization: Despite the name, the customer claims they "don't know what the hell they're doing here" regarding carburetors, stating the car "has not run the same since" after a carb rebuild.
    • Poor Repair Quality and Recurrence: The car reportedly required multiple return visits (four times since May) after initial work, yet it was still running "like it's sick."
    • Additional Alleged Damage: The customer alleges their driver's side window was found "off track" upon pickup, which was denied by the staff. Furthermore, a "bow tie screw on my air cleaner housing is missing" with a makeshift replacement, and a "brand new heater hose... damaged."
    • Customer Service Issues: Staff allegedly became "rude, short, dismissive & act like you are bugging them" after payment. There were also issues with lack of communication, "never got an update without me calling them," and a refusal to provide a detailed, itemized invoice.
    • "No Money Back" Policy: The customer notes signs posted everywhere about a "no money back" guarantee, implying a lack of accountability for service issues, which can be a point of concern for consumers.
    • Lack of Written Estimate: The customer stated they "never got a written estimate before work started," which is a significant red flag in the auto repair industry, as it can lead to misunderstandings about costs.
    • Observational Red Flags: The customer noted another vehicle (a Cadillac) being towed to and from the shop multiple times, which in retrospect, served as a warning sign about potential recurring issues.

The stark divergence in reviews is a critical feature. It indicates that while some customers have positive, high-value experiences, others report significant issues with repair quality, professionalism, and accountability. This discrepancy means potential customers need to exercise caution and perhaps gather more information or seek multiple opinions, and always request a written, itemized estimate before work commences.

Promotional Information and Market Perception

Carburetors & More promotes itself primarily through its specialized name, targeting customers with specific needs for carburetor, engine, and transmission work. Their website (lvcarburetorsandmore.com) emphasizes their "FREE QUOTE" and a "100% GUARANTEED service" with "Great Parts and Labor WARRANTY," which, if consistently honored, would be a strong promotional point. They also mention supporting "Las Vegas to the full range of car or truck and marine needs, from stock daily drivers to street performance." They also offer financing options through services like Snap Finance.

However, the conflicting customer reviews significantly impact their market perception. While the positive review speaks to professionalism and dedication, the highly critical review, with its specific details and firm stance, casts a shadow on these claims. The "no money back" policy and alleged lack of detailed invoices are serious concerns that could deter potential customers. It's also noteworthy that the business is "NOT BBB Accredited" as of current public information, which some consumers consider a factor in trustworthiness.

For potential customers, the promotional message from the company needs to be weighed against the full spectrum of customer experiences available online. Their main forms of promotion would be through their specialized service offerings and the hope that positive word-of-mouth outweighs negative feedback. Direct contact via phone at (702) 331-4961 or mobile at +1 702-331-4961 would be the primary way to inquire about services and potentially gain a personal impression before committing to a repair. The highly specific nature of their positive customer review ("replaced my rebuilt engine," "full manifold catalytic converter replacement") suggests they do have the capability for demanding jobs, but the negative review highlights potential inconsistencies in their execution and customer handling, particularly regarding older vehicles and communication practices.

1988 Caprice Classic two-toned paint blue & silver , nv plate “issa 88” so they can’t act like this is a fake review or say there is some mistake or any of that bs. my name David too, y’all know exactly who i am. i found this place back when i was a tow truck driver. i towed a few cars here & thought maybe i could bring my chevy up here to get some work done. big mistake! if i would have done one more day of research, i would have never went to this place. you would think with a name like “carburetors & more”, they would know their way around one but, negative. David & Tony are in the office & they seem ok at first, til they get your money. then they get a little rude, short, dismissive & act like you are bugging them. i paid $690 for a fuel leak at the tank & a carb rebuild. my car has not run the same since. it was running good, just had a really hard start & when the fuel started leaking i said now it’s time to visit this place. i brought the car back a few weeks after pickup to be adjusted & it still ran like crap. i brought it back 3 more times since May, & as of the last pickup 9/17/24, not only is it still running like it’s sick, but my drivers side window is off track now. i come pickup my vehicle & i see the window hanging. i ask what happened? Tony tells me “nobody did it”. i say this wasn’t like this when i dropped it off on Friday, & David knows it because i rolled the window up before i left. he tells me it’s a $1 clip , go to autozone & get a new one. i had to keep myself from going off on dude. when i got there, tony said “it’s all fixed & starts right up, watch” then he tried to start it. do y’all think it started up? of course not! they don’t know what the hell they’re doing here. i wouldn’t trust these crooks with a battery replacement. then he tells me how he adjusted the carb, replaced the pcv valve, & “that’s as good as it’s gone get” i said wow for almost $700 & all my wasted time, this how i’m treated? they have a “no money back” guarantee. its signs posted all over so you know you’re not getting taken care of if you find any issue with their service. i got an invoice that was basic & didn’t detail what costs what. it just said “fuel leak & carb rebuild” when i asked david in the office what kinda invoice is this? he says he can rewrite it if i want him to. i said na i don’t want you to make up some bs now, i just want to know how much each item costs with parts & labor. like any other repair shop. there is only a few times in my life that i absolutely regret spending money & this right now is number 1. i wish i never went to this shop. i’m talking to whoever is reading this, it doesn’t matter what you need done to your car, please don’t go to this shop. please do some more homework & find another facility to spend your money with. find another shop to trust your car with. especially if you have an old car. while typing this, i just found out my bow tie screw on my air cleaner housing is missing & they put a nut & washer on it. wow. i put a brand new heater hose on & it’s damaged. the first time i dropped my car off there, i seen a Cadillac on vogues being dropped off by a tow truck. days later i go get my car & i seen that came Cadi getting dropped off again on a tow truck! i should have know then, but they already had my money so i was hoping they could at least get my car running correctly but, that didn’t happen. i’d rather pay someone else to install a new carb than to even deal with these people again. i never got a written estimate before work started. i never got an update without me calling them. i got my window back in place, but since the broken clip is stuck in the track, it won’t roll up. they have a lot of good reviews & i don’t know how or why. i definitely regret doing business here. & to your response, your shop is just bad. Limit your emotions & elevate your work ethic. Also, clean up around there sometime maybe.

I’ve had two great experiences with Carburetors and More! Last year 2024, they replaced my rebuilt engine, and this year 2025, they completed a full manifold catalytic converter replacement. Their attention to detail is outstanding—they even followed up with me afterward to ensure everything was running smoothly. The team is professional, timely, and stands by their work with guarantees and warranties, which gave me great peace of mind. I highly recommend Carborators and More for their excellent service and dedication to their customers!

Crooks hire other shade tree mechanics from craigslist, for a fourth of what they charge you, just to mess your car up for them. All customers are repeat customers because every customer has a whole new problem a day after the original job is “complete”. Come in for a tune up and leave with a leaking radiator. Come back for a New radiator and leave with a blown head gasket. If bad karma were dollars in the bank these boys would be Warren Buffet.

I used to recommend this place yo anyone who needed carburetor work. I would think twice now. I took my carburetor in bevsysr the csr hsd sat s vouple years snd I knew it would be gummed up. All good. About a year later my gas tank ststed shedding it's deal so I took the carburetor off to clean it. That's when I discovered that sl pf my float bowl bolt holes had been stripped out . They fixed it with helicoils. But one they fid do bad the bolt will not tighten and the bowl leads gas. How do you strip out those bolts? My guess is using an impact ratchet or gun o. Small aluminum bolt holes. I wss reslly disappointed and especially since they never mentioned it
