I’m so Disappointed to hear the news that I heard this morning when going to the Car-X to get an oil change. I went to Car-X disappointed to hear the news that I heard this morning 10-05-2024 when going to the Car-X to get an oil change. I went to Car-X . back in July 2024 , I went into find out where a leak was coming from. I was told by the store manager there, which was Eric at the time that I needed an engine covered.. I paid $282.97 Grand total drove off the lot. My car starts smoking. I immediately call Eric and told him my car was smoking and shaking. He told me to return back immediately. I did and he said I apologize. I believe I’m screwed up your car. I’m sorry he said repeatedly. He then said that I needed to take my car to John who is a more experience mechanic than him off the Rock Road . I’m trusting this man first of all thought he was an experienced mechanic car to where is it didn’t smoke as bad as it was long story short I’m driving on the road not knowing that my car is leaking oil extremely bad to where is that? I went to Stop at an intersection in my car completely went through the intersection thank God that No cars were coming. I could’ve been killed or others. I am mainly drove the car to the Rock Road location for the mechanic John the next day because I still didn’t understand what was happening. I thought my brakes were going out.. I Tried to explain to John what Eric had said to me, which didn’t make any sense to me because I didn’t know. John said to me,” Why didn’t you come to me in the first place this would’ve never happened” I just feel so vulnerable I don’t know how to repair a car John The Senior mechanic cleaned up my car and asked me to come out to the garage. He showed me that the gasket was not the correct gasket underneath the car that he ordered part to replace the one that someone had put on there. He said I don’t know why he did not catch any of us. My story is so long and confusing and complicated. I end up getting a serpentine belt put on the car which caused $217.09 this was August 9, 2024. Long story short I found out that Eric doesn’t work there anymore and that he was fired. My car is still messed up from him, and I would like some justification for this man destroying my car, And almost destroying my life. my car still is leaking to this day. I’ve been told by the new store manager that he was going to report this and that they would try to have a master technician repair the problem. But he did not say that this would be at no cost to me, I will come back with Updated details. I’m hoping Car-X would do right by their customers, considering all that happened . I wanted to also say that this started at the Hazelwood Missouri location near Highway 67

Almost took two hours for an oil change. Had an appointment for 530 very unprofessional in the office need more help not just sitting around talking.

Terrible service. They will lie, manipulate you, and never be honest with where work and progress. They took me back and explained to me what was wrong with my car. They even told me to take pictures to show me "Prof". Everything they were telling/showing me was just a con. They still gave me my car in a dangerous state to drive when I ask for help to make my car drivable again. Pure pettiness. Even when I told them to keep the car as long as they need to fix the issue. Told then "no lights on my dashboard (so emission tests can pass me) I receive my car and my dashboard is still lit up and was told that it was all fixed. Anyone reading this!!! Does that sound okay? It does not. They took my $ for over 1500 and my car was still a mess. Not complaining about the price but warning everyone that this place is not okay. For someone who "trusts" mechanics....I got screwed badly. You can't trust this place. I made it simple for them. "Do a full inspection (got charged for that) and please fix my whole car and keep my car until it's fully drivable again" they told me it'll be ready by the end of the night. My car could take even move forward without shaking the whole car and feeling like any minute your tires are going to fall out. It was dangerous to drive to my own home. Please citizens. Stay away and go somewhere else. I wouldn't want anyone to be screwed like me. I worked hard for that money just so it can go away in second and for nothing. Take care yall. I am a very reasonable guy. Very patient but I was speak up if I see something wrong.

Car X Homewood is bad!! Put a bad part on my car in January been back & forth every month complaining my car is STILL leaking antifreeze! Finally my car gives out OVERHEATING…faulty part…now my engine blew an my car sitting at the Homewood carx!! It’s been a month waiting on a claim approval!! Worse place ever about to get a lawyer

Took my car in to the Car X located in McHenry, IL for four new tires and an alignment. They called me and told me that my car was ready so when I go pick up the car my abs, traction light, and my power steering was really tight. I told them something wrong because when I dropped my car off I had not a single light on my dash and my power steering was fine. They didn’t tell me none of this happened to my car when it was ready for pick up. The assistant manager inform me that they never did a tire job on my model Chevy Impala and might have to do something to make the system relearn (idk what he meant by that) he cleared the lights off my dash and drove up the street and the lights came back on and the steering wheel got back tight. He took it back in a the bay ans was trying to see what was wrong. After 40 mins he bring my car back around and tells me it’s a rear wheel speed sensor that’s causing the problem and it’s an additional $400 to fix. I was mad because my car never had this problem and drove fine all the way to the Car X location (I stay 30 mins away). The assistant manager also accuse me of clearing the code before I came to the shop and I don’t even know how to do thing like that better yet I don’t even own a scanner. I lost every trust and respect from Car X I spent a lot of money with them and this one takes the cake. I don’t play about my car and for the assistant manager to be so unprofesssional the way he was really made me think they messed my car up on purpose for me to spend more money. I will be calling corporate Monday they might not be help but it’s worth a try. I forgot to mention the assistant manager called the police on me because I was upset that they messed my car up after spending $1K on tires. They also changed a rear bulb in my car and I didn’t even tell them to do that Car X is a scam and intentionally mess your car up so you can spend more money with them
