C&C Metals - Pick a Part - Wingert Rd Introduce

For local users seeking cost-effective solutions for vehicle repair or looking to responsibly dispose of an old car, C&C Metals - Pick a Part - Wingert Rd stands as a key resource within the "Auto Repair Stations" platform category. However, it's crucial to understand that C&C Metals - Pick a Part operates not as a traditional auto repair shop, but as a self-service auto parts store and salvage yard. This distinction is vital for local users, as it means the primary service offered is the sale of used, salvaged auto parts and the purchasing of end-of-life vehicles for recycling, rather than performing repairs directly on customer vehicles. Located at 225 State Rd S-24-412, Greenwood, SC 29649, C&C Metals - Pick a Part - Wingert Rd offers a unique and environmentally conscious approach to automotive components and vehicle disposal.

Environment at C&C Metals - Pick a Part - Wingert Rd

The environment at C&C Metals - Pick a Part - Wingert Rd is characteristic of a well-organized and maintained salvage yard. Unlike a pristine auto repair shop, visitors should expect a more rugged, industrial setting designed for the purpose of vehicle dismantling and parts retrieval. The primary area is a vast outdoor yard where vehicles are systematically arranged in rows, often categorized by make, model, or year to facilitate easy searching. While it is an outdoor facility, there is typically a reception or office area where customers handle transactions, sign in, and pay the entry fee. This indoor space is generally clean and functional. For the outdoor yard, cleanliness and safety are prioritized within the context of a salvage operation. Pathways between vehicles are maintained as best as possible, and the overall setup is designed to allow customers safe access to the vehicles and their components. Visitors are typically required to wear closed-toe shoes and shirts for safety, and may need to bring their own tools for extracting parts. The environment reflects a practical, no-frills approach, focused on providing access to a wide range of used auto parts at affordable prices. It's an active, hands-on environment, appealing to those who enjoy the process of finding and removing their own parts.

Services Offered by C&C Metals - Pick a Part - Wingert Rd

As a prominent establishment under the "Auto Repair Stations" umbrella, C&C Metals - Pick a Part - Wingert Rd primarily offers two core services, which indirectly support automotive repair and maintenance:

  • Self-Service Used Auto Parts Sales: This is the hallmark service. Customers pay a small entry fee and then gain access to the extensive salvage yard. They can browse a vast inventory of vehicles of various makes, models, and years, and physically "pick" or remove the parts they need themselves. This DIY approach allows for significant cost savings compared to purchasing new or even refurbished parts. The inventory is constantly rotating as new vehicles are brought into the yard. Customers can often check the online inventory on the C&C Pick A Part website to see what vehicles are currently available in the yard, including details like year, make, model, engine type, and color, along with their assigned row and location.
  • Junk Car Purchasing and Vehicle Recycling: C&C Metals - Pick a Part also specializes in purchasing end-of-life (ELV) vehicles from individuals and businesses. They offer competitive prices for junk cars, regardless of their condition, and often provide free pick-up services within a certain radius (e.g., 25 miles of their Greenwood, SC facilities). This service is crucial for local users looking to dispose of non-running or unwanted vehicles responsibly. The vehicles are then processed through their comprehensive automotive recycling program, which involves environmentally safe disposal of hazardous fluids and materials, salvaging usable parts for their "Pick a Part" inventory, and ultimately recycling the remaining metal content. This process adheres to environmental regulations and promotes sustainability.

While they don't perform repairs themselves, the availability of affordable used parts directly supports vehicle owners and repair shops in their automotive repair endeavors. By providing a wide selection of OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) used parts, they enable cost-effective maintenance and repair, prolonging the life of vehicles in the community.

Distinctive Features of C&C Metals - Pick a Part - Wingert Rd

C&C Metals - Pick a Part - Wingert Rd stands out due to several key features that appeal to a specific segment of the automotive community:

  • Cost-Effectiveness: The primary advantage is the significantly lower cost of used parts compared to new or aftermarket alternatives. This makes repairs more accessible and affordable for a wider range of vehicle owners.
  • Extensive and Rotating Inventory: The yard maintains a large and constantly refreshed inventory of vehicles. This means there's a good chance of finding the specific part needed for a variety of makes and models, including older or less common vehicles for which new parts might be hard to find or prohibitively expensive. The online inventory lookup tool is a significant feature, allowing customers to check vehicle availability before visiting.
  • DIY Empowerment: The "Pick a Part" model empowers customers to be hands-on with their vehicle maintenance. For those with mechanical aptitude, it offers a rewarding experience and direct control over the parts they acquire.
  • Environmental Responsibility: As part of C&C Metal Recycling, the Wingert Rd location emphasizes eco-friendly disposal and recycling practices for end-of-life vehicles. This includes proper handling of fluids, batteries, and other hazardous materials, minimizing environmental impact. They are a mill-direct metal recycling processor, which allows them to offer competitive prices for scrap metal.
  • Convenience for Junk Car Disposal: Offering free pick-up for junk cars within a service area makes it incredibly convenient for individuals to sell their unwanted vehicles. This service simplifies the process of clearing space and receiving cash for non-functional cars.
  • Transparency and Fair Pricing: For both selling parts and buying junk cars, C&C Metals - Pick a Part aims for transparent and fair pricing, often based on the weight and type of metal for scrap cars, and a clear price list for salvaged parts.
Promotional Information and Opportunities

While specific daily or weekly promotions are typically communicated directly or through their website, establishments like C&C Metals - Pick a Part - Wingert Rd often engage in promotional activities tailored to their unique business model:

  • Fixed Pricing for Common Parts: They often have a standardized price list for common parts (e.g., engines, transmissions, doors, fenders), allowing customers to know the cost before they even enter the yard. This transparency acts as a promotional tool.
  • Online Inventory Access: Providing an updated online inventory is a major promotional feature, allowing customers to easily search for specific vehicles and parts from the comfort of their home before making the trip to the yard. This saves time and effort for potential buyers.
  • Cash for Cars Offers: Constant advertising of their "We Buy Junk Cars for Cash" service, often highlighting free pick-up, is a key promotional aspect. They emphasize getting "top dollar" for unwanted vehicles.
  • Environmental Benefits: Promoting their commitment to eco-friendly recycling and responsible disposal appeals to environmentally conscious customers and businesses, distinguishing them as a responsible choice.
  • Bulk Purchase Discounts (for specific parts): While primarily a self-service model, for larger purchases or certain types of parts, there might be unadvertised opportunities for bulk discounts or specialized pricing, especially for commercial customers or repair shops.
  • Customer Testimonials/Reviews: Positive word-of-mouth and online reviews often serve as the best promotion for such businesses, highlighting customer satisfaction with pricing, inventory, and service.

Local users are encouraged to visit the C&C Pick A Part website or contact them directly via phone (864-450-9050) to inquire about current inventory, part pricing, or to get a quote for selling their junk car. Their hours are typically Monday-Saturday, 8am-5pm. This ensures the most up-to-date information on their services and offerings.

I've been here a few times and I always try here first when looking for vehicle parts. The facility is clean and the operation is very streamlined and user friendly. Matt and Anthony were in the booth today and both are extremely friendly and helpful. They explained what needed to be explained and after a very easy and quick sign in procedure on an iPad, you're good to go. I was able to get in, and find what I needed quickly thanks to the excellent inventory system C&C has in place. They give you a map and printout of the exact location of the vehicles you want so you're not hunting around. I enjoy coming here , thanks again for the great experience!
