Burt Brothers Introduce

Located at 7070 Buford Hwy in Doraville, Georgia, Burt Brothers operates within the 'Auto Repair Stations' category, providing a range of automotive repair and maintenance services. Based on the available customer reviews, the experiences at Burt Brothers appear to be varied, with some customers highlighting positive aspects such as their ability to handle large vehicles and provide quick service, while others express significant concerns regarding their diagnostic practices, pricing, and overall customer experience. Potential local users should carefully consider both the positive and negative feedback when evaluating Burt Brothers for their auto repair needs.

Information about the specific environment of Burt Brothers is limited. However, as a functioning auto repair station, it would typically include service bays equipped with lifts and tools necessary for various automotive repairs, as well as an alignment rack capable of handling vehicles of different sizes, including larger ones like shuttle buses. A customer waiting area and a service counter for interacting with staff and processing paperwork would also be expected. The focus of the physical space is to facilitate the diagnosis, repair, and maintenance of vehicles.

The services offered by Burt Brothers, as indicated by the customer reviews, include:

  • Wheel Alignment Services: Burt Brothers offers wheel alignment services and, notably, possesses a lift large enough to accommodate larger vehicles such as shuttle buses, which sets them apart from some other shops in the area. The positive review from the shuttle bus owner highlights their capability in this regard.
  • General Auto Repair and Maintenance: While not explicitly detailed, the mention of needing grease on previously installed parts suggests that Burt Brothers handles general repair and maintenance tasks beyond just alignments.
  • Vehicle Inspections: The negative review mentions a $50 charge for a lift inspection, indicating that they do offer inspection services. However, the circumstances surrounding this inspection were negative, with the customer feeling it was unnecessary and a prerequisite for further service.
  • Lower Ball Joint Replacement (with concerns): One customer was quoted $1,500 for a lower ball joint replacement, which they deemed significantly higher than the average cost. This suggests that this is a service they offer, but the pricing and necessity of the repair were disputed.

Key Features and Potential Benefits of Considering Burt Brothers (based on positive feedback):

  • Capability to Service Large Vehicles: Their possession of a lift large enough for a shuttle bus makes them a potentially unique option for owners of such vehicles in the area needing alignment services.
  • Potentially Quick Service: One customer reported a very fast turnaround time for a wheel alignment, suggesting that they can be efficient when the workload allows. The "first come, first serve" policy might appeal to those needing immediate attention.
  • Friendly and Hard-Working Staff: The positive review praised the friendliness and work ethic of the employees, as well as their helpfulness in identifying and rectifying a potential issue with previously installed parts. This suggests a customer-oriented approach in some instances.

Significant Concerns and Potential Drawbacks (based on negative feedback):

  • Potential for Unnecessary Service Recommendations: One customer felt that a suggested lower ball joint replacement was not actually needed, raising concerns about diagnostic accuracy or upselling practices.
  • Significantly Higher Than Average Quotes: The $1,500 quote for a lower ball joint replacement, compared to an estimated average of $250-$350, indicates potentially inflated pricing for certain services.
  • Charge for Lift Inspection: The $50 fee just to put a car on the lift for inspection, especially when the customer felt the diagnosis could have been done without it and was pressured into agreeing to an unnecessary repair to proceed, is a concerning business practice.
  • Inconsistent Pricing: The reported discrepancy in quotes for the same service (lower ball joint replacement) within a four-month period ($900 versus $1,500) suggests a lack of consistent and transparent pricing.
  • Poor Communication and Time Management: The experience of being asked to arrive early and then waiting almost four hours just to receive a quote indicates potential issues with scheduling, communication, and efficient workflow.
  • Pressure to Agree to Unwanted Repairs: Insisting on a specific repair (lower ball joint replacement) before proceeding with a requested service (wheel alignment) is a problematic practice that prioritizes the shop's agenda over the customer's immediate needs.

Promotional Information:

The provided customer reviews do not contain any information about specific promotions or special offers at Burt Brothers. Auto repair shops may occasionally offer discounts on certain services, seasonal maintenance packages, or introductory deals for new customers. You can also visit their location at 7070 Buford Hwy, Doraville, GA 30340, USA, to speak with their service advisors and inquire about any ongoing promotions. However, given the significant negative feedback regarding pricing and service practices, it would be prudent to obtain clear and detailed quotes for any work before proceeding.

In conclusion, Burt Brothers in Doraville, GA, presents a mixed picture for local users seeking auto repair services. While they offer the advantage of servicing larger vehicles and have been praised for quick service and friendly staff in some instances, there are significant concerns raised by other customers regarding potentially unnecessary recommendations, inflated pricing, charges for inspections, inconsistent quotes, and poor communication. Potential customers should carefully weigh these contrasting experiences and consider obtaining second opinions and detailed quotes before entrusting their vehicle to Burt Brothers. Using this establishment as a "last resort," as suggested by one reviewer, might be a prudent approach until more consistent positive feedback emerges.

Burt Brothers Customer Reviews

My vehicle needed an alignment immediately. I called 7 places before finding Burt Brothers. They were the only shop I found in the area with a lift large enough to work on my shuttle bus. They were "First come, first serve" so I arrived at 0545 for their opening at 0630. I was first in line and they were quick to get the work done (under an hour). Workers were extremely friendly and hard working. They informed me that I needed grease on some of the newer parts that were previously installed (from another shop). I was very thankful they pointed this out to me and they fixed the issue. I would totally recommend anyone getting service done here. Overall a great experience for such a stressful situation on my travels. Thank you for everything! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

I recommend using this place only as a last resort. Here’s why: 1. They suggested a replacement that wasn’t necessary. 2. Their quote was significantly higher than average. 3. They charged $50 just to put the car on the lift for an inspection. 4. Their pricing is inconsistent; a review from four months ago reported a $900 quote for the same lower ball joint replacement that I was quoted $1,500 for. 5. I was told to come in at 6:40AM and only was given a quote at 10:30AM. What did they do for 4 hours and ask me to come so early? I took my truck in for a wheel alignment, but the mechanics lifted it and claimed the lower ball joint needed replacement, quoting $1,500 for the job. After researching online, I found that replacing a lower ball joint typically costs between $250 and $350, depending on the model. I sought a second opinion and decided to take my truck elsewhere. However, the shop insisted on a $50 charge for the lift inspection, despite the fact that the diagnosis could have been done without lifting the vehicle. They also refused to proceed with the lift unless I agreed to the ball joint replacement. Ultimately, I paid the $50 to avoid further hassle and went to a different shop, where I was informed that the lower ball joint didn’t need replacement. Based on my experience, I strongly suggest exploring other service options before considering this place.

They have serviced my truck for about 5 years now. They are very good at what they do. Byron the lead is the best. They always tell me the truth (even the bad news.) They are better at diagnosis and price than Dealerships. I come all the way from Kentucky and Tennessee to have them work on my truck. Very trustworthy.

BE CAREFUL! My 18 year old son wanted a wheel alignment and these guys refused saying he first needed new lower ball joints and quoted him $900 but they are in good condition. Nothing worst then mechanics that try to take advantage!

Burt Brothers are great! I have used them for many, many years for service and repair. They keep my older vehicles running. Brandon and Ryan are the best as well as their crew. Prices are very reasonable. Thanks again for all that you do!
