Doraville Drive Lines & Springs Introduce

Doraville Drive Lines & Springs, located at 6910 Buford Hwy NE, Doraville, GA 30340, operates as a specialized "Auto Repair Station" focusing on specific, intricate aspects of vehicle mechanics. While details about the physical environment of the shop, such as its waiting area or specific bays, are not provided, the customer reviews offer a critical perspective on the operational experience and the outcomes of the services rendered. Its location on Buford Highway NE places it within a commercial district, suggesting accessibility for various vehicle types, including trucks, which are explicitly mentioned in the reviews.

Based on the explicit customer experiences, Doraville Drive Lines & Springs specializes in components related to a vehicle's drivetrain and suspension. Their services, as detailed by the customer complaints, include:

  • **Drive Shaft Repair and Replacement:** A primary service mentioned is the replacement of a "short shaft" on a truck. This indicates their capability to work on and replace drive shafts, including components like u-joints.
  • **Differential Work:** Customers refer to "re gearing both differential" and installing an "e locker onto my front diff," which demonstrates their expertise in servicing and modifying vehicle differentials. This involves intricate work on internal gears and associated components.
  • **Suspension Springs:** While not directly mentioned in the provided reviews as a service performed, the name "Doraville Drive Lines & Springs" strongly suggests that they also handle repairs, replacements, or modifications related to vehicle suspension springs. This would typically involve leaf springs, coil springs, or other suspension components crucial for vehicle load-bearing and ride quality.

The shop's contact information is provided as phone: (770) 441-2501 and mobile phone: +1 770-441-2501, allowing customers to contact them for inquiries or scheduling appointments. However, a review explicitly states that the "supervisor of Doraville Drive Lines and Springs - is ignoring our calls and emails," which points to significant issues with post-service communication and customer resolution.

The features of Doraville Drive Lines & Springs, as critically illuminated by the provided customer reviews, largely highlight significant concerns regarding service quality, communication, and business practices. It's crucial to present these candidly for an objective introduction:

  • **Specialized Drivetrain and Differential Expertise (Potential, but marred by execution):** The services mentioned, such as shaft replacement and differential re-gearing/e-locker installation, point to a specialization in complex drivetrain components. However, the execution of these specialized services is highly criticized. For instance, a u-joint on a replaced shaft broke within three days because it "wasn't tight properly," leading to catastrophic damage. Similarly, the e-locker installation revealed "a cut to size standard bolt holding bearing cup" and damaged side adjusters due to improper procedure, indicating a severe lack of attention to detail and professional standards in these specialized areas.
  • **Lack of Invoice Transparency and Professionalism (Negative Feature):** A significant red flag highlighted is that their "invoice does not list any warranty information for parts or labor." Furthermore, it "does not show our company name, or truck information," which is described as "very unprofessional and shady." This lack of clear documentation is a serious concern for customers seeking accountability and clarity regarding their expensive repairs.
  • **Repeated Failures and New Issues After Service (Major Negative Feature):** The core of the negative feedback revolves around repairs failing almost immediately or new problems emerging directly after the service. The truck breaking down three days after a $2,450 shaft replacement, resulting in over $6,598 in subsequent damage, is a stark example. Leaking transfer case and rear differential after a re-gearing job, along with a bent skid plate, further exemplify a pattern of new issues arising post-service, indicating either incomplete, faulty, or careless work.
  • **Poor Communication and Customer Resolution (Major Negative Feature):** Customers report "poor communication," stating they "had to keep calling and asking about my truck" for updates on a quoted three-day job that took seven. More critically, the "supervisor...is ignoring our calls and emails," forcing customers to consider legal action. This complete lack of post-service support and refusal to address severe issues directly is a major deterrent.
  • **Questionable Workmanship and Use of Improper Parts (Negative Feature):** The discovery of a "cut to size standard bolt" where an OEM bolt should be, and stripped threads due to improper technique ("they didnt take out the set screws holding them out first"), strongly suggests a significant lack of proper training, adherence to repair protocols, or ethical practices. Such practices compromise vehicle safety and reliability.

Regarding promotional information, the provided customer reviews offer no positive promotional content. Instead, they serve as a series of strong warnings to potential customers. The explicit advice from a dissatisfied customer, "Definitely would not recommend this shop," along with details of massive financial losses and legal recourse, effectively functions as a powerful anti-promotion. The consistent pattern of severe negative experiences across multiple reviews, including high repair costs, immediate re-failures, damage to other vehicle components, and a lack of accountability, creates a very concerning picture for any local user considering their services. While a business might typically promote its specialization or fair pricing, the documented experiences here suggest that these aspects are overshadowed by significant issues in repair quality and customer service. The phrase "changed it from 3 stars to 0 if i could" illustrates the extreme level of dissatisfaction experienced by customers. Therefore, any "promotional information" would objectively highlight these negative aspects, cautioning potential clients about the reported risks involved in engaging their services.

In conclusion, Doraville Drive Lines & Springs, located at 6910 Buford Hwy NE, Doraville, GA 30340, and contactable at (770) 441-2501, is an "Auto Repair Station" that specializes in drive line, differential, and potentially spring-related automotive services. However, based on the provided customer reviews, the shop is associated with significant and consistent negative experiences. Key concerns raised include alleged unprofessional invoicing lacking warranty details, the immediate failure of expensive repairs leading to further substantial damage (e.g., broken u-joints and differential issues), the discovery of improper parts and workmanship (e.g., cut bolts, stripped threads), and a severe lack of communication and resolution from management regarding customer complaints. These features, as reported by customers, present a critical view of their service quality and business practices. Therefore, local users in Doraville, GA, are strongly advised to consider these detailed accounts and exercise extreme caution before engaging the services of Doraville Drive Lines & Springs for their automotive repair needs.

Doraville Drive Lines & Springs Customer Reviews

I had my truck come to their shop to replace a short shaft, which was done on 1/9/2024, and I paid $2,450 for their service. First of all, their invoice does not list any warranty information for parts or labor. Also, it does not show our company name, or truck information (invoice attached) - which is very unprofessional and shady. The repair they have done did not last 3 days (GA - OH trip). The u-joint on the shaft broke (wasn't tight properly !!!!!) lodging into the frame rail causing the truck to immediately shut off, but not before hitting the differential, and breaking the power divider gear. All of this cost me over $6,598 to fix (plus hotel, meals, and late delivery fees from the broker). The supervisor of Doraville Drive Lines and Springs - is ignoring our calls and emails which gives us no other options but to take them to court.

EDIT: 11/29/2023 changed it from 3 stars to 0 if i could. Had another shop install an e locker onto my front diff and they found a cut to size standard bolt holding bearing cup. Looks like they stripped the oem bolt and decided to cut one to make it fit. Also both the side adjuster was also messed up, they didnt take out the set screws holding them out first, instead they just turned the adjuster causing the engrave mark. Now shop is having to run around town to get right parts from Nissan, and figuring out a way to fix the stripped threads. Definitely would not recommend this shop. (New photos added) 4/22/22: 7month review on re gearing Long story short, poor communication i was quoted 3 days to re gear both differential, but ended up being 7 days. They did not called to keep me updated i had to keep calling and asking about my truck. I work on my own cars unless the job is too big. When i got my truck back my transfer case was leaking and rear differential as well. While i was under replacing the transfer case output seal, i notice one of my skid plate was bent. It was like they took the screws on one side and bent it back to give them room when they could of just taken the whole plate off. Other then that i took off my rear differential cover off at the 5k mile mark and the gears looks great.

I stopped in yesterday morning 02 January 2025 because my 01 Safari awd van has a vibration when driving, which i feared was an axle, differential or driveshaft issue. A polite young man named Gomez came out from the bay doors and said they could lift my van up and inspect it. I asked him for a worst case scenario after i explained in detail what i was experiencing vibration-wise at speed. He said more than likely it was the diff and could cost a little over a thousand dollars. Well, after he and another experienced mechanic jacked up my van and spent about 10 minutes rolling around under it, inspecting all areas underneath it while Gomez was in the driver-seat giving gas At various speed’s, they determined the vibration was something other than the diff, driveshaft or axles, more than likely in frame. I was very pleased with their thorough inspection and honest opinion. They have integrity at this shop. Thanks to Gomez and the mechanic for helping me out. Clay

Work was completed in a timely fashion. I was satisfied with the service (replace driveshaft), however when I went to pick up my truck the price was more than double what I was quoted. I question how the price more than doubled, he had no good answer and no work order to explain cost. I needed my truck so I paid. I called other shops to confirm I was seriously overcharged at this place. I only went due to the good reviews and my urgent need for a quick repair. I won’t be returning for any other services.
