Bow-Tie Overdrive

Disappointed with customer service and follow through. I ordered parts that had a months long production delay, understandable. I went weeks at a time without any order information update. When the parts arrived the crossmember had damage, a bracket was bent. Tiffany, my service rep, listened to my concerns. I suggested taking it to a local shop for repair in order to save money on shipping as it's large and heavy. The local repair would be less than shipping. I was told by Chris, their manager, it was my fault for not addressing it immediately with the shipper when it arrived. It was dropped off on my porch by UPS, I wasn't notified or home. The box was poorly packed, a large hole that looked like it was cut or torn exposed the damaged portion. Before opening the box, I took photos and submitted them to Bow Tie. My follow up is that Chris told me to repair it myself and that it was my fault for not addressing it with UPS at the time of delivery. I normally leave 4 and 5 star reviews, sadly my overall experience was poor, I hope the parts fit and work as advertised.

I purchased a 700r4 transmission from Bowtie last year. The sales department, Nikki, was great to talk to and walk me through the process. I paid everything up front and in a couple months I had my transmission. Not everything went smoothly on the install, there were some incorrect parts sent, this was a minor inconvenience and fixed. Now comes the trouble, after driving with the new transmission, with under 1,000 miles on it, it left me stranded on the road 30 miles from any town. After I towed it home and had a conversation with Bowtie they wanted me to remove and send it to them so they could look at it and attempt to fix it. I said that at this point it would be better if I took it to a transmission shop and had them fix it, knowing that it would likely void some of my warranty. After I took it to the shop they were shocked by what I paid for the transmission, I really didn't mind the cost because it was going in my classic car. They then told me the inferior parts that were used in the transmission, which came as a shock to myself. They mentioned that the front pump went bad due to a crack and then went through the transmission wrecking it. Once inside the transmission they also saw several reused and cracked parts that hadn't failed yet but were on the verge. They said this is something they see after years and thousands of miles on a transmission, no 1000. I then called Bowtie and talked to Chris who wanted pictures of the damage, which I sent over. Since then I have heard nothing from bowtie, I've emailed several times with nothing but crickets. I had even told Chris that I didn't expect a full refund, or warranty. All I wanted was for him to make it right, I told him that I would gladly pay for the labor, but I thought the parts were on him. I even explained that he can pay for the parts that he used in it at his cost, as something would be better than nothing. So hear I am with no return calls or emails. My advice for anyone looking for a transmission is that you should look somewhere else as these guys use inferior parts and modify old parts so they can "work".

I'm not sure if this is a real place. I've been scammed by a similar company while trying to buy auto parts. I planned on buying a transmission from these people but I haven't any proof that I won't be scammed. Sorry.

I spoke with Tiffany today to get some help on trying to find the right speedo gears for my TH350. She was very helpful, patient, and had great customer service. She pointed me in the right direction for the set up I need. The boss also gave me great advice too! After making multiple calls to different transmission businesses, Bowtie Overdrives gave me the time of day that the other place didn’t. I highly recommend them!
