My family and I broke down on our travels back to NH on a Saturday afternoon. When all other shops were closed or closing soon, no one was able to fix my alternator until Monday. Meaning I would have had to spend more money for hotels as we are not from the area. However, Wayne and his co-workers at Bent Autobahn took my car in to be fixed that day (even though they were supposed to be closing). They were excellent and fixed my alternator with no issues. On top of that, they were very reasonably priced! I would highly recommend Bent Autobahn!!!

We recently moved to Norwalk from Stamford and was looking for a competent, reliable and most importantly, honest mechanic to service our three cars, which range in age from 54 to 1 year old. Our Stamford mechanics were with us for 30 and 5 years respectively. We were at first put off by one review for Wayne. We tried three 5 star reviewed shops, but each was problematic for one reason or another. I will not disparage any of them. However, our MB GL450 stopped near Wayne’s shop and we had it towed there on a snowy, 20 degree day. He called within an hour and gave us a complete run down on the issue which had nothing to do with what the previous mechanics diagnosed at extreme estimates, for which we were charged. Wayne explained the problem, not knowing about an issue that happened years ago, that was not properly repaired. He fixed the car the next day and ALL of the numerous service lights that were coming on and off for a while, disappeared, at one third of the estimates!. Divine providence, maybe? Well, looks like we saved the best for last! GO THERE! You will save too!

I have gotten 3 German cars repaired by Wayne. Wayne has worked on my Audi Mercedes & BMW for brakes, rotors, & to fix a turbocharger which is a major job. Wayne always delivers, is always transparent and an expert when it comes to working on these cars. I highly recommend this shop to anyone looking for transparency, fairness and of course, high quality work.

I can not recommend this business. I brought my VW vehicle for 40K mile service and some random HVAC rattling sound prior to a longer drive down south. Wayne (the owner) has been helpful, friendly and fixed the issue with the HVAC and did the 40K service. He was late to open the shop in the morning, I had to wait for him but life happens and he apologized sharing his son had his 18th birthday. When picking the car after the service, I entered the vehicle I realized the engine has been running/idling for 51 minutes for no reason - go an figure why? With push to start it can happen. We made it to FL without any issue. One the way back the car started acting strangely and eventually misfire. It got to a point when the car was not drivable. Not a welcomed situation with a 3 year old on a road trip. There was no reason why anyone would suspect it was related to prior service. The car computer has been reset and magically the car worked. The issue however returned shortly before arriving home. When using the diagnostic tool, the error was showing engine misfire valve #4. Spark and coil has been replaced (spark was also replaced earlier by Wayne as part of the 40K but it could have been faulty). By chance of simply checking the oil level I learned there was simply too much engine oil - significantly more than it should have been. After extracting more than 34 oz it was still on a very top of the recommended range. After some consideration I stopped by the Bent Autobahn with the extracted oil and wanted to share what happened and properly recycle the oil. He has a lovely lady behind the phone and computer who checked me in. However Wayne would not only refused to listen what I was trying to tell him but immediately went defensive and accused me of being someone else with different car and different issue. Despite multiple times telling him I do not want to argue and just share what happened he would not be able to listen. At one point I asked if really knows what vehicle am I talking about and he said Audi A8 which not my car - my is VW. He ridiculed me for saying the misfire was caused by too much oil. He was not even listening to his own staff as she was trying to tell him he had mistaken me for someone else. She actually tried to listen to me and take notes after I realized there is no point to argue with Wayne and turned my attention to her. In short I did not even ask for anything (compensation or anything else) but after spending close to $1350 in his shop I would expect him to at least listen what happened. I would have not written this if he did... We all make mistakes, but even if the technical issue had another cause (likely it did not) he without a doubt put much more oil into the engine than he should have. Now, I am concerned about transmission fluid change and all the other services he did. Google it or ask your service guy what happens when you put too much oil into your engine? The damage can be irreversible... I can not recommend the shop...

I was looking for a good place to bring my 2006 BMW 525XI, and I am so confident now that I have found Bent Autobahn Automotive Repair, the service and welcoming is just the start, not to mention the great price and nailing my issues to the "T" , not repairing things or guessing just firm.
