Welcome to Benfield Automotive, your local auto repair station situated at 2471 Norwood St SW, Lenoir, NC 28645, USA. As a part of the broader category of Auto Repair Stations, Benfield Automotive aims to provide vehicle owners in the Lenoir area with a range of services and potentially goods related to the maintenance and repair of their automobiles. When choosing an auto repair station, understanding the environment and the nature of services offered is crucial. Based on available information, it's important for local users to approach Benfield Automotive with a balanced perspective, considering both positive and negative feedback from previous customers. While specific details about the physical environment of the repair shop are not provided, it's typical for such establishments to have a service bay area equipped with the necessary tools and equipment for vehicle diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance. Customers can likely expect a reception or waiting area, although the ambiance and amenities are not described in the provided reviews.

The services offered at Benfield Automotive appear to encompass general car repair, with one customer mentioning they were told the shop specializes in Dodge vehicles. However, this claim was contradicted by the same reviewer's experience. Another reviewer specifically highlighted the expertise of their mechanics with Chrysler vehicles, suggesting a potential strength in servicing these makes. It's reasonable to assume that Benfield Automotive would offer common auto repair services such as engine diagnostics, brake repairs, oil changes, tire rotations, and potentially more complex services depending on their specialization and equipment. However, the specific scope of their services and the brands they expertly handle require further clarification, perhaps through direct inquiry.

Features that might attract local users to an auto repair station include the expertise of the mechanics, the use of quality parts, transparent pricing, efficient service, and positive customer interactions. One positive review praises the Chrysler mechanics as being the "sharpest around," "trustworthy," and "reasonable," suggesting these are key features of their service for certain vehicle owners. This positive feedback indicates a potential strength in their technical skills and fair pricing, at least in some instances.

However, it's essential to consider the negative experience shared by another customer. This review raises significant concerns regarding the professionalism of the staff, the accuracy of the initial diagnosis, potential damage to the vehicle while in their care, unsatisfactory handling of complaints, and allegations of improper business practices such as not providing receipts and threatening a lien despite payment. These are serious issues that prospective customers should be aware of and might want to investigate further before entrusting their vehicle to Benfield Automotive.

Promotional information is not explicitly provided in the given text. Typically, auto repair stations might promote their services through local advertising, special offers on routine maintenance, discounts for new customers, or guarantees on their work. Without any such information in the reviews, we cannot comment on any specific promotions Benfield Automotive might be running. Local users are advised to inquire directly about any ongoing specials or warranties when contacting the shop.

In conclusion, Benfield Automotive in Lenoir, NC, is an auto repair station that has received mixed reviews from its customers. While one reviewer praises their expertise with Chrysler vehicles and their trustworthy and reasonable service, another details a highly negative experience involving misdiagnosis, vehicle damage, unprofessional conduct, and questionable business practices. Local users considering Benfield Automotive for their car repair needs should carefully weigh these contrasting experiences and perhaps seek additional information or clarification before making a decision. It would be prudent to inquire about their specific areas of expertise, service guarantees, and billing procedures to ensure a satisfactory experience.

Benfield Automotive Customer Reviews

I dropped my car off here to "professionals" who only specialize in Dodge cars. That was not the case because when it was taken, the manager or whatever told me that the car could be having a PCM or computer problem. So, I went ahead and paid for that, thinking it would fix the issue. But it didn’t fix anything; the car still had the engine light on and came back with damage on the front bumper. I went back to get it looked at again, and they said they had a fix for it. When I went to pick up the car, I told them about the damage, and they told me it wasn’t them but they’d give me a $10 discount, which I can 100% guarantee the damage wasn’t there before. The person at the desk was smiling and laughing at the situation, so I told him to stop because it was unprofessional. He then tells me to take it outside, and he’s saying that to a minor! I obviously am not going to fight over damaged property, but he also doesn’t provide receipts because he is committing tax evasion or wants to avoid taxes. He also was threatening to put a lien on my car even though I had money to pay. I ended up paying $600+ more for the damage to my bumper. Unprofessional. I was told to come here because they were specialized in this, but that is not the case. SAVE YOUR MONEY! Will be reporting to better business bureau!

Best service ever!! We were looking for a nice, reliable SUV for hauling our pups when we go on vacations or visit my son. Jerry was very professional, reliable and courteous. He even met with us in his day off to help. Jerry was very knowledgeable and trustworthy. His pricing was spot on with our budget and was well in line with what the vehicle should cost. He made sure that before we left, any concerns were addressed and we are more than satisfied with our purchase. 10/10 will ABSOLUTELY buy from Jerry when we need another vehicle. Thank you, Jerry!!!

I bought a car for my daughter here and JERRY told me that there's nothing wrong with the car other than 2 recalls need to be done which I would have to take to Chrysler for those. He also told me that he sold this jeep to the 1 owner from Greensboro which I ran a Carfax and found that it was from Georgia and sold to 4 other people in Virginia. I still bought the car cause of the strong background of the car. I told him that this car is for my daughter and I wanted to make sure it was safe for her to drive. He said he drove it and nothing was wrong and also had his guys in shop look it over. Said all was good, I take the car to have recalls done and ask about some control arm boots on front that I had told Jerry about which he said you could buy those which you cant get unless you buy the complete control arms. So the Chrysler dealer is telling me that the car needs both front control arms, ball joints and tie rods. I call Jerry and ask him to take care of this and he said he would look at it and see what it needs and try help me, I ask him to take care of it or buy car back. He said he would give me a 1,000 back for the car I paid 2500 for. This is the worst place to buy a car cause they cant even see what repairs it needs when they change the oil and inspect it. How can it pass NC state inspection when its not safe for the highway. I guess once you become a shady car salesman you always will be one. I would not recommend this dealer to anyone.
