Automotive Specialist Introduce

Automotive Specialist, located at 1404 E Morgan St, Kokomo, IN 46901, USA, operates as an auto repair station providing various services for local users in the Kokomo area. As a facility within the Auto Repair Stations category, it offers diagnostics, maintenance, and repair work for vehicles, aiming to address a range of mechanical and electrical issues that car owners might encounter.

The environment of Automotive Specialist, as a local small business, would typically consist of a workshop area with bays for vehicle repair and a reception or waiting area for customers. While no specific details are provided about the aesthetics or amenities of their waiting area, the focus of such a business is primarily on the technical aspects of vehicle repair. The shop is equipped to handle various types of automotive problems, implying the presence of diagnostic tools, lifts, and the necessary equipment for mechanical work. Operating hours are usually standard business hours, though responsiveness outside of these times for emergency situations may vary, as indicated by a customer experience. The general atmosphere aims to be functional, facilitating the efficient repair of vehicles.

Automotive Specialist offers a range of services to address common and complex car issues. Based on customer feedback, their capabilities include, but are not limited to, addressing:

  • Overheating Issues: Such as diagnosing and replacing water pumps and performing coolant flushes.
  • Engine Repairs: Including more significant work like head gasket replacement, which is a major engine repair.
  • Electrical Problems: Troubleshooting and fixing electrical issues that can prevent a car from starting or affect its various systems.
  • General Mechanical Work: Implied by the comprehensive nature of the issues customers bring to them. This likely covers a broad spectrum of repairs and maintenance tasks.

The business states it has "over 35 years of experience in the industry," and that their "auto experts are trained to provide you with exceptional auto repair and maintenance services." They also mention specializing in "transmissions and differentials," and offer services like "steering and suspension work, brakes, engine repair, and much more." They also claim to "assist with any aftermarket auto warranty."

Key features of Automotive Specialist, as conveyed through customer reviews and general business information, present a mixed picture. Positively, some customers describe the business as "Very kind and professional," offering "excellent advice on my car," and explaining repairs "in detail." The pricing is noted as "affordable price point," and the fact that it's a "local small business" is appreciated by some. They claim to offer "the best price and a job done right the first time" and to "never rip you off." They also mention being a "family owned and operated Christian auto shop," emphasizing honesty and fair treatment.

However, another review details a significantly negative experience, highlighting potential issues with communication, transparency, and timely completion of work. This customer reported an initial misdiagnosis (water pump vs. head gasket), prolonged delays with parts, and a difficult interaction with the owner regarding payment arrangements and progress updates. The review describes the owner's communication as unprofessional and the receptionist's remarks as disheartening. This suggests that while some customers experience positive interactions and affordable prices, there can be inconsistencies in service delivery, communication, and problem resolution.

Regarding promotional information, Automotive Specialist primarily promotes itself through its claimed attributes: being a "Christian business" that is "family owned and operated," offering "fair prices," and having experienced technicians with over 35 years in the industry. The positive reviews, while limited, highlight affordability and clear explanations as key benefits, which act as organic promotion. The business also promotes its ability to handle complex repairs like transmissions and differentials, setting itself apart from some general repair shops. The direct contact phone numbers, (765) 455-1130 and +1 765-455-1130, are provided for customer inquiries and scheduling. However, the negative review concerning payment arrangements and communication issues suggests that any promotional promises regarding trustworthiness and timely service should be viewed with an understanding of potential variability in customer experience.

In conclusion, Automotive Specialist at 1404 E Morgan St in Kokomo, IN, aims to be a comprehensive auto repair station offering a range of services including addressing overheating issues, engine repairs, and electrical problems. While some customers praise its affordability, professionalism, and the clear advice provided by staff, there are significant concerns raised by other customers regarding communication, consistency in service, and the handling of repair timelines and payment arrangements. Potential customers are advised to engage in very clear and documented communication regarding estimates, timelines, and payment terms to ensure a smooth repair process.

Automotive Specialist Customer Reviews

Took our car to the shop on the 14th for an overheating issue, they said it was the water pump. Signed an agreement, put down a small item of collateral and had them fix it until I could pay on payday, that went smoothly until we tried to drive it home and it was still overheating even after a coolant flush and a water pump replacement. Took it back there the same night but by time we limped it back it was past their closing time. We got the car home barely, but the next day it wouldn't start so we had it towed where they said it was the head gasket. So we went back in, put more collateral down, and waited. I called nearly every day being told the same thing: your parts are in the machine shop we can't do anything until we get them back. For a week I heard this from them until Friday the 25th I called to get the machine shops number, instead of getting the receptionist I got the owner who swore me out, flat out told me why should he work on my car when I'm not paying, said he didn't approve the receptionist to make the payment arrangement and that she did it of her own accord because she probably felt bad for us, rattled on about his property taxes and car payment, so to try and smooth things over I went In, paid for the water pump and while trying to get some more information from the receptionist who was out at the time, she told him to tell me the only reason she told me my car was being repaired was because I was annoying and she hoped I'd leave her alone. So yeah my car and some valuable items of use have been sitting for about 2 weeks since with no progress. They say they're a Christian business but really they're just nazi sympathizers. Trump merch everywhere, guess that's where they learned to run their buisness

Very kind and proffesional. Gave me excellent advice on my car, explained what they were going to do in detail. Affordable price point. And best of all, they are a local small business.

I needed work done to my vintage car (89 Daytona) I feel they went above and beyond locating the parts I needed to keep my baby going.

If I could give these ppl zero stars I would. Went in for what we thought was a transmission issue. After 4 times of taking it back to this place we finally decided to take it elsewhere and found out it was just a bad wire under the hood. AFTER this place said the transmission needed rebuilt, that didn't fix it! Then they decided it was the computer, that wasn't it. And so on. 4 times!! The owner here can't even read a diagnostic computer. So it's my guess that he was just playing the guessing game! No other explanation for this! Please whatever you do DONT go here!! Oh and they had our vehicle since February and it is now June!! DO NOT GO HERE!!! WASTE OF MONEY AND TIME!!
