Austin-Jordan Engines Introduce

Austin-Jordan Engines, located at 4259 Clyde Park Ave SW, Wyoming, MI 49509, USA, operates as a specialized "Auto Repair Station" with a primary focus on engine-related services. This includes a range of repairs and rebuilding expertise for vehicle engines. They can be reached by phone at (616) 247-9960 or via mobile at +1 616-247-9960. While specific operating hours are not explicitly stated, auto repair shops typically operate during standard business hours, usually Monday through Friday, with information suggesting they are open by 8:00 AM on weekdays.

Environment and Facility

As an establishment specializing in engine work, Austin-Jordan Engines would house a workshop equipped with specialized tools and machinery for engine diagnostics, disassembly, repair, and reassembly. This would include engine hoists, precision measuring tools, and potentially machining equipment for engine components like cylinder heads and blocks. The facility at 4259 Clyde Park Ave SW is a commercial property, indicative of a professional auto repair setting. Public records for the address suggest it is a functional space designed to accommodate vehicle service. A dedicated area for engine rebuilding implies a clean and organized workspace to ensure the meticulous nature of engine work. For customers, there would be a reception area to discuss repairs, potentially with a waiting area. The overall environment aims to facilitate the complex and labor-intensive process of engine servicing. Information from the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) identifies Austin-Jordan Engines LLC as an active private property carrier, indicating they might transport vehicles for service or parts internally, suggesting a well-structured operation.

Services Offered

Austin-Jordan Engines primarily focuses on the heart of any vehicle: the engine. Their core services revolve around ensuring optimal engine performance and longevity. These services include:

  • Engine Repair: Diagnosing and rectifying a wide array of engine problems, from minor issues like sensor malfunctions or fuel system problems to more significant internal engine component failures. This involves using diagnostic tools to accurately pinpoint the root cause of engine troubles.
  • Engine Rebuilding: This is a key specialization. Engine rebuilding involves disassembling an engine, cleaning and inspecting all components, replacing worn or damaged parts (such as pistons, rings, bearings, and valves), and then reassembling the engine to factory specifications or better. This process can significantly extend the life of a vehicle and is often a more cost-effective alternative to a full engine replacement.
  • Cylinder Head Repair: As engines are complex systems, specialized services like cylinder head repair would likely be offered. This could include fixing cracked or warped cylinder heads, repairing damaged valves, and addressing worn valve seats.
  • Addressing Specific Vehicle Types: While not exclusively stated, the presence of reviews mentioning a "Cadillac Escalade ESV" and "truck" suggests they work on a variety of vehicle types, including larger SUVs and trucks, which often have specific engine requirements. Their classification by OSHA as primarily engaged in "Other Engine Equipment" (SIC 3519 / NAICS 333618) further underscores their specialization in engine-related work.

While the name heavily implies engine specialization, like many focused auto repair stations, they might also offer some related mechanical services that are frequently associated with engine issues, such as drivetrain inspections or cooling system checks, to ensure the engine operates in conjunction with other vehicle systems.

Features and Customer Experience

The customer reviews provided offer a mixed but insightful view into the features and customer experience at Austin-Jordan Engines:

  • Specialization in Engines: Their primary feature is undoubtedly their specialization in engine repair and rebuilding. This deep focus suggests a higher level of expertise and equipment tailored specifically for engine work, which can be a significant advantage for customers with complex engine problems.
  • Potential for Quick Turnaround: One positive review highlights an impressively fast service, with a Cadillac Escalade ESV ready in three days after being told it would be a week out. This indicates a capability for efficient workflow and potentially effective resource management, which can be a major benefit for customers needing their vehicles back promptly.
  • Family Involvement (Jason Sr. and Jason Jr.): The positive review specifically mentions "Jason Sr." and "Jason Jr." for their fantastic job. This suggests a family-oriented business, which can often translate into a more personal touch, accountability, and a long-term commitment to quality. The negative review, however, also mentions "Dad" and "the son," indicating a potential discrepancy in service quality or communication between different individuals.
  • Customer Communication: The positive review notes that they "made my appointment Tuesday Jason sr. Told me it would be a week out. To my surprise I got a call that same week Friday telling me my Cadillac Escalade was ready." This demonstrates effective communication regarding expectations and a pleasant surprise with early completion.
  • Inconsistent Customer Experience (Based on Reviews): It is crucial to objectively present both sides of the customer feedback. While one customer had an "excellent job" and a "fantastic job" experience with quick service, another had a significantly negative experience. The negative review describes a "faulty motor," broken rear-view mirror, an unowned hitch on their truck suggesting unauthorized use of their customer's vehicle for towing, and a complete failure to resolve their engine problem, leading to further out-of-pocket expenses elsewhere. This stark contrast suggests that the customer experience can vary, potentially depending on the specific individuals involved or the complexity of the issue. The Better Business Bureau (BBB) profile also indicates a "Failure to respond to 1 complaint(s) filed against business," which aligns with the negative customer experience regarding unresolved issues.
  • Focus on Customer Satisfaction (Variable): The positive review clearly indicates a high level of customer satisfaction. However, the negative review points to a severe breakdown in trust and satisfaction, including accusations of unprofessional conduct (unauthorized use of vehicle) and a lack of resolution for the core problem. This highlights that while they can deliver excellent results, there may be instances where the service falls short of customer expectations.

Promotional Information

For Austin-Jordan Engines, promotional efforts would likely focus on their core specialization in engine repair and rebuilding, and potentially target customers with more complex engine issues rather than routine maintenance. Promotional strategies might include:

  • Highlighting Engine Expertise: Emphasizing their deep knowledge and capability in handling various engine types and complex engine problems, positioning themselves as engine specialists.
  • Showcasing Successful Repairs: Using positive customer testimonials (like the Escalade example) to demonstrate their ability to provide effective and timely solutions for engine issues.
  • Focus on Reliability and Quality: Promoting the durability and performance benefits of their engine rebuilds and repairs.
  • Targeting Specific Vehicle Owners: If they have particular expertise with certain vehicle makes or types (e.g., heavy-duty trucks, specific luxury models), they might target those segments.
  • Online Presence: Maintaining a functional website (as indicated by a Groupon listing which points to a website) or strong presence on online directories that clearly outlines their engine-focused services, contact information, and hours of operation.
  • Addressing Customer Concerns: While not explicit promotional material, a business with mixed reviews would ideally focus on improving consistency in customer service and addressing negative feedback transparently to build overall trust.

In conclusion, Austin-Jordan Engines in Wyoming, MI, positions itself as a dedicated engine repair and rebuilding facility. While they demonstrate the capacity for excellent and efficient service, particularly concerning complex engine work, prospective customers should be aware of the varied experiences reported by previous clients and consider these factors, including the BBB complaint record, when choosing a repair shop for their engine needs.

Austin-Jordan Engines Customer Reviews

I'm a small business owner from Lansing that has had several engine's built and rebuild... We only had 1 problem with a motor once.. Brought the truck to you to find the problem. Dad was absolutely wonderful, the son decided he wasn't honorable and failed us completely.. After picking up the truck we realized that the rear view mirror was broken off the window and there was a hitch on the truck that did not belong and was not ours.. So you used our customer's truck to tow whatever you needed.. We then had to pay out of our pocket to take the heads, the problem to someone else locally for repairs... Don't waste your time here!

Update: The front desk called back this morning after seeing this review, and informed me the VW was done. There is no voicemail of a Friday call at my history log (missed call though) and no email from them as requested on showing they did. I gave confirmation of repair to the intake manifold within a few days but been weeks of delay in between the whole process. This really comes down to customer care which is overall more valuable to this overall experience. A promotional ballcap does not bring customer service ... good attitude, respectfulness and good communication to your customer truly does. We are picking up the vehicle at some point this week, hopeful the leaks are not there anymore and we can move on from this situation with a reliable vehicle again. I do appreciate the mechanical experts at this business. There was just a big gap in communication. Review adjusted to 2 of 5 stars. Prior Review below... We were in need of a remanufactured engine for our 2011 VW Passet. The head gasket went on the original engine in March. Had towed in first week of April and rebuild was done in about a week. We paid, got warranty to cover engine and told it was for 3 years and unlimited mileage. Have had an oil leak ever since though. Initial two trips were replacement parts, weeks of waiting, but still leaked after. Have had back many times and then to a professional up north because Austin-Jordan stated the transmission oil was leaking. After review by the other mechanic we found it in fact was an oil leak. Drove back for them to repair. I called 2 weeks ago asking what the leak was and told part wasn't installed in rebuild, and we have to pay for it and the labor. Gave them the okay even though it seems it should be covered under the warranty agreement. We have been waiting now over 6 weeks with our latest return here and VW still in the shop with no callback on a simple part. We have added 1,200 or so miles on the rebuild and operated the vehicle for little time since April. That mileage on the VW by the way comes solely from driving the vehicle from home to this shop. It is a good vehicle and should not take so long to repair. Was told they can fix the leak but still waiting ... what is the hold up and what does it take to care for your customer. Awaiting response ... and assurance the vehicle is under safe operation.

I had an Engine blowout on my 2011 Cadillac Escalade & had a hard time deciding on where to get my vehicle repaired. I'm grateful I came across the name of this shop cause they took real good care of me & my baby. They have a good warranty, Jason gave outstanding customer service- kept me updated throughout the repair process. The dealership told me to scrap it, but they have her running like a champ. If you go by the reviews, you will be fooled..I prayed on it & they delivered! Thanks to the staff of Austin -Jordan Engines...you have a satisfied customer here❣
