Appalachian Tire and Auto Sales Introduce
Appalachian Tire and Auto Sales functions as a versatile auto repair station that offers a broad spectrum of services encompassing both vehicle maintenance and repair, as well as the sale of new and used automobiles. While information online can sometimes be fragmented, it appears there are multiple entities or branches operating under or related to the "Appalachian Tire" name, often combined with "Auto Sales" or "Auto Products," across states like West Virginia, Virginia, Kentucky, and North Carolina. This integrated approach positions them as a comprehensive automotive hub for local users, where one can address tire needs, general vehicle servicing, and even vehicle acquisition.
The environment at Appalachian Tire and Auto Sales locations is typically geared towards functionality and customer service, characteristic of an auto repair and sales facility. While specific details about showroom aesthetics or waiting area amenities aren't extensively publicized across all possible locations, the nature of their business implies a professional setting. The presence of tire sales and auto service bays suggests an organized workshop area equipped for various repair tasks. For the auto sales component, there would be a lot or showroom displaying vehicles. Based on some online reviews, the customer service environment can vary. Some locations are described as having professional and prompt service, with staff going "above and beyond." However, other reviews for entities associated with "Appalachian Motors" (which might be a distinct but similarly named business, or a sales arm of one of the tire and auto sales locations) sometimes highlight concerns regarding customer service and trustworthiness, particularly in the used car sales aspect. This suggests that the customer experience can be inconsistent depending on the specific branch or the service being sought. Generally, however, the intent is to provide a comprehensive and convenient one-stop solution for automotive needs.
Appalachian Tire and Auto Sales offers a diverse range of services, primarily categorized into tire services, general auto repair and maintenance, and vehicle sales:
Tire Sales: This is a core offering, with locations acting as authorized dealers for major tire brands such as Goodyear, Michelin, BFGoodrich, Cooper, and more. They provide a wide selection of tires for various vehicle types, from passenger cars to light trucks and SUVs.
Tire Services: Beyond sales, they offer comprehensive tire services including professional tire installation, computerized wheel balancing to ensure smooth rides and even tire wear, tire rotations to extend tire life, and flat tire repair.
Brake Services: As a fundamental auto repair service, they likely provide brake inspections, brake pad and rotor replacement, and other brake system repairs essential for vehicle safety.
Wheel Alignment: Ensuring proper wheel alignment is crucial for vehicle handling, fuel efficiency, and tire longevity. This service is typically available.
Oil Changes and Preventive Maintenance: Routine services like oil, lube, and filter changes are offered to keep vehicles running smoothly and prevent more significant issues down the line. Other preventive maintenance tasks such as fluid checks and filter replacements are also commonly provided.
General Automotive Repair: This can encompass a broad range of services, including steering and suspension repairs, battery checks and replacement, exhaust system repairs, and basic engine diagnostics. Some locations highlight the availability of ASE certified technicians for complex repairs and diagnostics.
Vehicle Sales (New and Used): While primarily known for tires and auto services, "Auto Sales" in their name indicates they also deal in the sale of vehicles. This would typically involve offering a selection of used cars and potentially new vehicles, catering to customers looking to purchase a car along with maintaining it.
Off-Road Rig Modification: Some related businesses, like "Appalachian Auto Care" (which may be a distinct entity or a specialized service arm), explicitly mention modifying and building off-road rigs (Jeep, Dodge, Ford, Toyota), suggesting specialized customization services for enthusiasts.
The features that distinguish Appalachian Tire and Auto Sales include their dual focus on both tire products and comprehensive auto services, providing a convenient "one-stop shop" for many drivers. Their status as authorized dealers for multiple major tire brands ensures customers have access to a wide range of quality products and associated manufacturer warranties. The presence of experienced technicians, potentially ASE certified, underscores a commitment to quality workmanship. Many locations are long-standing businesses with deep community roots, which can foster trust and repeat business. The provision of services like comprehensive brake repair and alignments, alongside basic maintenance, highlights their capability to address various vehicle needs. For the auto sales component, while not always explicitly detailed, the ability to facilitate vehicle purchases directly alongside maintenance services offers a unique convenience. Some independent branches or related businesses might offer unique perks like loyalty programs (e.g., collecting keytags for service credit) or specialized services like off-road vehicle modifications, further differentiating them. However, it's important for customers to verify the specific features and services available at their local Appalachian Tire and Auto Sales branch.
Regarding promotional information, Appalachian Tire and Auto Sales, like many auto service centers, likely leverages manufacturer rebates on tire purchases. As authorized dealers for brands like Michelin, Goodyear, and Cooper, they would participate in seasonal or ongoing promotional offers from these manufacturers. These can include cash back rebates, discounts on a set of four tires, or special financing options. Beyond tire-specific promotions, some individual locations or related businesses might offer service-based specials. For instance, a related "Appalachian Auto Care" promotes a loyalty program where customers can earn credit for services by collecting keytags. They also suggest "specials & deals" may be available for services like tire installation, wheel alignment, or system diagnostics. However, general, widely advertised promotional information for all "Appalachian Tire and Auto Sales" entities is not consistently available across the board. Therefore, potential customers are highly recommended to contact their specific local Appalachian Tire and Auto Sales branch directly or visit their respective local website (if available) to inquire about any current promotions, coupons, or special offers on tires or automotive services. This direct inquiry is the most reliable way to ascertain applicable discounts or deals.

Appalachian Tire and Auto Sales Customer Reviews
Charged me 1200 bucks for a busted timing belt, spark plugs and an oil change. Took them about a week, when I finally got it back i drove it 15 minutes home and it broke down again. Called them up and asked if they new anything, they said no. I took it to a different auto place who fixed it. When Appalachian "fixed" my timing belt they knocked the wires on my starter loose, which fried it. Never taking it here again.

I have reviewed them in the past as NeoAndTrinityNick and gave 5 stars. As I said then he is not always home. They have always been good to me. They have always had fair and knowledgeable mechanics. Today was a bad day for them, but because of Alex I will still give them 4 stars. I had a window that would not go up on an old vehicle that they have been the only ones to work on for 8 years now. I asked one thing. Do not unhook the door locks because I can not get into the back. They unhooked everything and jammed a rag and piece of wood down in the window. I was upset and called, but Alex was kind and said just bring it back. As I explained to the lady in the front she jerked the keys out of my hand, because of my complaints. I’m a customer and I was unhappy with the service. They fixed it no charge, and even removed the jammed piece of wood from the window. I will give 4 stars even now because of the one Hispanic mechanic and Alex. That woman does not have a clue how she made me feel. Had this been 15 years ago I would have jumped across that counter. Furthermore, she made me cuss, which led me to crying, because I am not the person I use to be. I don’t trust anywhere else, but it may be time I find another mechanic.

Lenoir Resident and lived here for 8 years. As the number of shops increases there is only one place to bring your vehicle. (Right Here). You may notice a large amount of cars parked outside. This is because we all know if you want the job done right the first time you are willing to wait for it to be done. The chain repair shops just want the quick buck nothing more. Kim and Alex are the best as is their entire staff. Great work at great prices. Only place in Lenoir to feel secure with the repairs!

Beware! A nightmare!! SCAMMER! I wish I had read all the negative reviews. I would have had it towed to my repairshop.! My car had overheated in front of the business. I explained it to the cashier and asked if they could look at my car. I was shown an estimate that it could be up to $300 labor and was told that it took 3 hours to replace and $200 for parts. They used my coolant but still charged me for coolant. It was 2 hours before closing, so I figured it would be $200 for labor if it took until 5 pm. to replace thermostat housing. My daughter n law took a picture of the estimate that he quickly took back and threw in the trash. I never signed it because I didn't know how long it would take in labor. I waited there since they were closing in a couple of hours. It only took one hour for repairs. When I was given the bill, I was charged the full three hours of labor. I bought it to their attention, and the manager/owner came into the lobby screaming at me. He said that is the price... $300 per hour for labor, and that I have to pay it. I tried to reason with him, and he got louder. There were four other people in the lobby as he stood there screaming at a 67 year old woman. I paid the $571 bill that he charged me and left in tears. There is no other repair shop that charges $300 per hour for labor. I have the picture that my daughter n law took of the estimate that I didn't sign, and I didn't agree to pay $300 labor. I will be filing small claims against him for overcharging me and intimidating me into paying his price. He is a bully! Shame on him!
