Anderson Certified Auto Repair Customer Reviews

Larry is one of only a few Porsche certified mechanics in the state. I have always been able to trust Larry before all other mechanics to be able to diagnose and repair many things on European cars that I cannot; all for very competitive prices. I once purchased a wonderful vehicle from him for a very affordable price that was possibly the greatest car I ever drove. He has been in business for many years with very little support as an independent specialized mechanic. Despite many misfortunes he has always made things right. Even at the highest personal cost, when business is difficult, he goes above and beyond. I could not recommend any other European mechanic in the state. His personal demeanor, experience, and ethic are unmatched. He knows these cars, has driven them, and loves them. Thank you Larry for getting me back on the road again!!!

I took a newly acquired vintage Porsche to this shop last August to have it inspected and any needed work performed. Well, what I got was a damaged car and a time-consuming pursuit to get the car properly repaired... I purchased the car out-of-State and the previous owner of the car had it inspected by his own independent mechanic before the sale. That inspection found several items that required attention. Not knowing the mechanic who inspected the car, I wanted to get a second opinion from someone local who was known to be very good with Porsche’s. So I took the car in to Anderson Certified Auto and the inspection revealed that it needed only some minor work (I was slightly surprised as there were several items that I thought needed attention). So the work was performed and I picked the car up several days later. When I got the car home I noticed that something didn’t look quite right with the driver’s side rocker panel. After comparing it to the passenger side, I realized it had been crumpled. Having only had the car for about a week, I wanted to make sure the damage wasn’t already there when I bought the car and maybe I just hadn’t noticed it until now. Luckily, I had taken several pictures of the car before I bought it and I was able to determine that there was absolutely no existing damage on the car when I bought it. I immediately called Larry and asked if maybe it had fallen off the lift or something and he admitted that it had slipped off the lift but didn’t think it had caused any damage. I explained the damage and drove the car back to his shop so that he could assess. His suggestion was that I take it to a pointless dent repair shop... but this was not a simple “door ding”; it was a crumpled body panel and would require body and paint work. I immediately went out and got estimates from three different shops to repair the damage. I then gave Larry the estimates and he said he didn’t have that kind of money. At this point I was both angry and confused. How do you have a service shop and not have adequate insurance coverage for something like this? After insisting that he take responsibility for the damage, he reluctantly agreed to pay for the repairs... but it took several calls and uncomfortable visits to his shop before he actually paid the bill. Even after all of this, I still had to pay out my own pocket to replace a couple of parts that were not a part of the body and paintwork. And, the one item that he supposedly “fixed” (cam sprocket gasket leak) is still leaking like it did before the work. Needless to say, I did not have a good experience here and will not be taking any of my cars to him again.

If you're looking for an honest, knowledgeable and meticulous mechanic Larry is your guy. He specializes in Porsches of all models and ages. His prices are very reasonable especially considering his expertise. As long as you don't mind a location and shop that are just a little rough around the edges and are more concerned that the job is going to be done right the first time this is the place to go. I'd give Anderson Certified Auto Repair my highest recommendation.

Wow! So i read the reviews on this place, decided to give them a call and see if they can inspect my vehicle and tell me whats wrong with it and how much it will cost to fix it. Pretty simple question, well who ever answered the phone, you could barely hear them and then he hung up on me. Im very dissapointed in this. If the phone call was that bad, i can only imagine how bad they are in person.
