Wife and I had our 72 Dodge Balboa break down in Big Bear over the summer and had it towed to Alpine. Jim and his son were able to take a look at it the same day and quickly and honestly gave us the root cause. They had an opportunity to take full advantage of us as tourists stranded up on the mountain but they treated us honestly and fairly.

I rode down from Los Angeles and I broke down with my motorcycle getting stuck in Big Bear, Every motorcycle shop was closed and even though it's a hot rod shop Jim was able to custom modify me a clutch cable from a 1982 goldwing and was then to retrofit it to my Honda shadow so I could back on my way. Thanks to Jim and his wife for being so kind to offer me help.

Had a flat and didn’t have the tool to get the spare down, the younger guy came in and quickly went to his truck and got his tool from his truck

My experience at Conklin Hot Rods was definitely rewarding. The owner Jim Conklin told me he would fix the dent in my passenger rear and he did a professional job and had it done promptly. I was very pleased with the service as well as the moral character I saw being reflected through the owner and thus the business in general. :)
