A.K. Lube & Auto Introduce

A.K. Lube & Auto, situated at 134 Petro Rd, Kingston Springs, TN 37082, USA, is a family-owned and operated business that positions itself as a full-service auto repair shop within the "Auto Repair Stations" category. With contact numbers (615) 952-5776 and mobile +1 615-952-5776, the establishment aims to serve the Kingston Springs community and surrounding areas like Fairview and White Bluff, offering a wide array of services and goods related to vehicle maintenance and repair.

The environment at A.K. Lube & Auto is presented as that of a local, accessible automotive service center. As a family-owned operation established in 2020 by Paul and Brittany Shedd, there's an inherent intention to foster a welcoming and personal atmosphere. The facility would typically include a service bay area for vehicle repairs and maintenance, alongside a customer waiting area. While specific details about the aesthetics or amenities of the waiting area are not extensively publicized, the general expectation for a local auto shop would be a functional space where customers can wait while their vehicles are being serviced. The operational environment in the shop would involve the necessary tools and equipment for a wide range of automotive tasks. The presence of a dedicated office manager, Chris, suggests an effort to maintain organized customer interactions. However, it's important to note that customer experiences regarding communication and the general efficiency of the service environment can vary, as indicated by conflicting public reviews.

A.K. Lube & Auto provides a broad spectrum of automotive services and goods, aiming to be a comprehensive solution for vehicle owners. Their service offerings include, but are not limited to:

  • General Maintenance: This covers essential routine services such as oil changes (including oil and filter replacements), tire services (inspection, repair, rotation, balancing, and TPMS sensor relearning), coolant flushes, and anti-freeze disposal.
  • Engine Repair: They handle more complex engine issues, ranging from diagnostics for check engine lights to significant repairs like head gasket replacements and full engine swaps. This demonstrates their capability to address serious mechanical problems.
  • Transmission Repair and Replacement: Recognizing the complexity of modern transmissions, they offer services for transmission issues, including rebuilds and complete replacements.
  • Brake Service: This includes inspection, replacement of brake pads and rotors, and ensuring the braking system is in optimal condition.
  • Electrical System Services: They provide services for alternators, starters, and other electrical components.
  • HVAC Services: Including A/C service and recharging, crucial for climate control in vehicles.
  • Diesel Repair: Indicating specialized knowledge and equipment for servicing diesel-powered vehicles.
  • Customization and Accessories: Beyond repairs, they also offer custom work on rims, lighting, and wheels, allowing customers to personalize their vehicles. They stock and install various automotive accessories.
  • Hose and Belt Replacement: Essential for maintaining the vehicle's cooling system and engine function.
They also carry and work with various reputable brands for tires (Toyo, Cooper, Michelin, Yokohama), batteries (Interstate Batteries), and performance parts (AirDog, VP, Mobil One, Fleece Performance, Turbo, Rough Country), as well as custom wheels (Axe Wheels, Fuel Wheels, Method Wheels), showcasing a commitment to using recognized components in their repairs and upgrades. The availability of financing options also broadens accessibility for customers facing larger repair costs.

Several features distinguish A.K. Lube & Auto in the local market. As a family-owned and operated business since 2020, there's an emphasis on personal service and building long-term relationships with customers. They highlight their status as a CarFax Top Service Center for 2022 and 2023, which suggests a commitment to certain quality standards and transparency in service history. Their team, including owner Paul, his father Steve, brothers Nick and John, and office manager Chris, contributes to the family-run aspect, which can be a significant draw for customers preferring local, personal service. The ability to handle a wide range of services, from quick lube jobs to extensive engine repairs, positions them as a versatile "no job too big or too small" automotive partner. The availability of financing is also a practical feature, assisting customers with unexpected or costly repairs. However, it is crucial to present a balanced view, as features can also be perceived differently by customers. While some reviews praise their fair pricing and good service, others indicate significant concerns regarding communication, particularly from the owner and receptionist, extended repair times (reported as over four months for a major engine job), and alleged misdiagnoses or incomplete repairs. Issues such as a lack of communication, vehicles returned with new problems, and challenges with getting warranty concerns addressed represent significant pain points for some customers. The claim of only posting five-star reviews on their website, if true, would also be a critical feature to consider regarding their promotional transparency.

For promotional information, A.K. Lube & Auto leverages its identity as a local, family-owned business and its comprehensive service offerings. They actively promote their team members, emphasizing the familial aspect and shared dedication to providing "top-notch automotive solutions." Their CarFax Top Service Center awards are likely used in their marketing efforts to highlight their reliability and quality. Testimonials, especially the positive ones, are clearly a cornerstone of their promotional strategy, aiming to build trust and attract new clients. They would likely highlight their ability to handle a wide variety of repairs, from routine oil changes to complex engine work, positioning themselves as a convenient one-stop shop. The emphasis on "fair price" in positive reviews also serves as an informal promotional point. However, any promotional efforts would need to navigate the contrasting customer experiences, particularly the detailed negative review regarding communication, extended repair times, and perceived lack of skill. To address such concerns, any public promotions might focus on clear communication protocols, guarantees for repair timelines, and transparent warranty processes. Ultimately, word-of-mouth, both positive and negative, plays a significant role in their local reputation. For a business like A.K. Lube & Auto, consistent delivery on service promises and proactive resolution of customer issues are the most effective forms of promotion for sustainable growth.

The guys do an excellent job for a very fair price. I’ve been here a couple of times and will definitely be going back. Great service and thank you to all the technicians working here.

GO ANYWHERE ELSE, DO NOT USE THIS PLACE.... ALSO DO NOT GO OFF THE TESTIMONIALS POSTED ON THEIR WEBSITE, THEY ONLY ACTUALLY POST THE 5 STAR REVIEWS.... If I could leave a zero star review for this establishment I 100% would. Lets start with the owner his name is Paul, it took me threating to file a complaint with the BBB, for him to actually return my calls. Chris (the receptionist) literally is less useful than a parka in death valley during the summer. And whoever actually worked on my truck probably is better suited to work on those little trucks you buy for your children that you just have to charge. First and foremost the lack of communication and skill of the workers here is complete trash. They had my truck for over 4 months and gave it back to me with TWO MORE problems that didn't exist when I took it in. I took my truck in back in December (around the 18th, I believe). I was having issues with my engine overheating. They get back to me and tell me its the head gasket, quote me $5,000 dollars. Seems legit so I agree. I LITERALLY DO NOT HEAR ANYTHING FROM THEM FOR OVER 2 MONTHS. Finally I call because they told me it would take a couple weeks, I understand stuff happens, so I was very chill about it. Finally when I talk to the guy that answers the phones, he tells me some BS story about how the place they use had a machine issue, blah blah blah. Finally get my head gasket in, as soon as they get everything installed, now I have a crack in my engine block for another $6,000. They tell me "there is no way we could have know about the engine block" however the other mechanics I talked to said if that's the case they have no business working on vehicles. Finally my new engine comes in, its there for two weeks before they even touch my truck, all I get from the less than helpful receptionist is the dude has another big job that he's working on, I called maybe a dozen times still didn't get anywhere so I finally showed up, I asked if the job their mechanic is working on has been there since December as well, which it hadn't. Finally they start working on my truck and at this time, I know for a fact I had called 4 times asking the owner to call me back to see what he was going to do about this. This is when I finally threatened to file a complaint with the BBB, and guess who calls me in less than 30 minutes. The owner tells me he's gonna find a way to cut back some of the cost, in the end he knocked off like $700 for their screw up. Wow big help when I'm dropping 11K. The owner was not helpful at all, and as far as I can tell there is no manager there. Or if there is they have zero management skills. So I finally get my truck back within a day my check engine light is on and my AC isn't blowing cold air. I take it back to them to see if they can figure out why my check engine light is on after I just purchased a new motor. They tell me its a catalytic converter code, and its probably just from where fluids leaked on it, but I should just drive it and it will burn off, and as far as my AC goes, once everything burns off it may or may not help my AC work better, but I could bring it back if it doesn't. So I went and talked to a mechanic with years of experience and as I was explaining the situation he told me 100% they should have known about the cracked block, and that the driving the truck to burn off whatever the hell they were talking about is a complete myth and doesn't actually work. I also had them check my AC, and low and behold when they were replacing my engine they didn't add any refrigerate to my AC which would have been drained during the engine swap. So long story short, if you want to go somewhere that will screw you over and do a sub par job, I 1000% suggest you come see these dudes. If you don't, go literally anywhere else. Paul and Chris COULD NOT be any less helpful.

Passing by on a 20 hour road trip, days prior installed tpms sensors in all 4 tires since two of them went out, called before I stopped in and a very respectful man answered and said he'd re learn them as soon as I get there, at the end I asked how much and he said don't worry about it! Other shops were trying to charge 20 to 50 dollars!

My daughter took her car here to get her Check Engine light diagnosed. They weren't able to get to it which would be understandable except for the fact that they also wouldn't answer their phone or return messages. That left my daughter having to get a rental so that she could go to work on Monday. Very unprofessional

I absolutely appreciate these men for fixing my truck! I was on vacation with my family, don’t know anybody down here, or any good mechanics but somehow God put it on my heart to contact them & they took care of us!! Definitely a 5/5
