63st Automotive Introduce

63st Automotive, situated at 2053 Cemetery Ave, Philadelphia, PA 19142, USA, functions as an independent auto repair station within the "Auto Repair Stations" platform category. This establishment serves the local Philadelphia community by providing various vehicle repair and maintenance services. The information available suggests a business with a long history in the area, offering a blend of affordability and a distinctly personal, albeit sometimes inconsistent, customer experience.

The **environment** at 63st Automotive, typical of many independent auto repair shops, is likely functional and straightforward. It's not described as a luxury dealership or a large chain service center; rather, it appears to be a local garage focused on getting the job done. Customers can expect a practical setting with service bays dedicated to vehicle diagnostics and repairs. While specific details about a waiting area or customer amenities are not provided, the nature of such a business suggests a no-frills approach, where the emphasis is on the mechanical work itself. The atmosphere is likely that of a busy, working garage, which can sometimes be perceived as informal. The feedback suggests a direct communication style from the owner, which can be seen as either a positive of straightforwardness or a negative of unprofessionalism depending on individual customer preferences.

The **services** offered by 63st Automotive cover general automotive repair and maintenance. Based on the customer reviews, specific services mentioned include changing **valve cover gaskets** and addressing issues related to **brakes and tires**. This indicates they handle common mechanical problems that vehicles encounter. Independent repair shops like 63st Automotive typically provide a wide range of services, such as oil changes, fluid checks and flushes, brake repair and replacement, tire services (rotation, repair, replacement), suspension work, engine diagnostics, and various other general repairs. While the reviews highlight specific incidents, it can be inferred that they address a variety of issues to keep cars running. The shop likely offers services for various makes and models, unlike specialized dealerships.

The **features** of 63st Automotive present a mixed picture, primarily shaped by customer experiences. A significant feature is the **affordability of their services**, as noted by a customer who got "all my valve cover gaskets changed for less than $400," suggesting competitive pricing. This can be a major draw for budget-conscious car owners. Another prominent feature, as strongly attested by a loyal customer, is the **honesty and trustworthiness of the mechanic, Bill**. This individual has been a mechanic for a considerable period, building a reputation for respect towards customers and a willingness to "go out of his way to help those in need," earning a "10+++ stars!" recommendation for his integrity. This level of long-standing trust is invaluable in the auto repair industry. However, there are also contrasting features to consider. One review expresses concern over the owner's customer service style, describing it as "condescending and unprofessional and a tad creepy" due to the use of terms like "young lady" and "sweetie." This indicates a potential inconsistency in customer interaction. Furthermore, there are doubts raised about the thoroughness of repairs, with a customer experiencing a new noise shortly after an initial repair and questioning the subsequent diagnosis of brake issues, leading to "doubts about the first job being completed." This suggests that while pricing is a draw, consistency in diagnostic accuracy and communication regarding repairs might be areas where experiences vary for customers, especially those with limited car knowledge.

In terms of **promotional information**, 63st Automotive, as an independent shop, likely relies heavily on word-of-mouth referrals and its reputation within the local community. The strong positive review for Bill, who has served the community for over two decades, is a powerful form of organic promotion, indicating a loyal customer base built on trust and respect. The "real cheap" pricing also serves as an attractive promotional point, drawing customers looking for cost-effective solutions. While formal advertising campaigns might not be as extensive as larger chains or dealerships, the shop's long-standing presence and the positive testimonials for its key mechanics are its primary promotional assets. For those seeking their services, the phone number (215) 729-1600 (or +1 215-729-1600 for mobile) would be the primary point of contact for inquiries about services, pricing, or to schedule an appointment. Due to the varied customer experiences, prospective customers, especially women with limited car knowledge, are advised to consider bringing someone with more automotive expertise or to establish clear communication expectations upfront to ensure a comfortable and satisfactory service encounter.

In conclusion, 63st Automotive at 2053 Cemetery Ave, Philadelphia, PA 19142, USA, is a local auto repair station offering a range of general car repair and maintenance services. Its environment is that of a practical, independent garage. Key features include highly competitive pricing and a long-standing reputation for honesty and trustworthiness from certain mechanics, like Bill. However, customer experiences regarding communication style and consistency in repair diagnostics can vary. For local users in Philadelphia seeking affordable and potentially reliable auto repair, particularly those who value a long-established community mechanic, 63st Automotive presents an option, with the recommendation to ensure clear communication and potentially seek a second opinion on complex diagnoses to ensure full confidence in the repair process.

63st Automotive Customer Reviews

Customer Service: Owner often addresses me using terms like “young lady”, “sweetie” and the likes. Didn’t enjoy that - condescending and unprofessional and a tad creepy. Repair Service: initial repair seemed complete. Shortly after I noticed a new noise coming from my car, took it back and was told it’s my tire. After asking again, I was told it’s my brakes. Both the pads and rotor were changed out 6 months before so I find it unlikely that was truly the issue. Not saying they were trying to take advantage but I definitely can’t say with full confidence that isn’t the case either. And now having doubts about the first job being completed. Price: real cheap. Got all my valve cover gaskets changed for less than $400 My recommendation: If you’re a woman with little to no knowledge of cars, come with someone with more knowledge or see if you can find a more reputable and woman friendly mechanic.

Bill has been my mechanic since I was 16 years old, I'm 37 now. He's such an honest man, definitely a mechanic the community can trust. He treats all of his customers with respect and is known to go out of his way to help those in need. 10+++ stars!

The owner Bill is great and is pretty knowledgeable about cars. He does a great job. Like any auto place, depending on the problem, you might have to leave your car for approx 1 week. But most of the time, it's usually just a couple of days and again that depends on the severity of the issue. I recommend this place! Bill knows his stuff!!!

They were easy to deal with. They fit me in for an inspection and oil change, which they completed that morning. And the price was very good as well.
