Services Offered

Sunoco, as a typical gas station and convenience store, offers a range of services designed to meet the immediate needs of drivers and customers. While the primary service is, of course, fuel, the location aims to provide more than just a place to fill up your tank.

  • Fuel Sales: The core service provided is the sale of various grades of gasoline. Customers can expect to find standard fuel options available for their vehicles.
  • Convenience Store: Associated with the gas pumps, there is typically a convenience store on-site. This store generally offers a selection of common items for purchase.
  • Non-Alcoholic Beverages: Based on customer feedback, the store has a "semi-small inventory for non-alcoholic drink options." This suggests you can find a limited but present selection of soft drinks, water, and perhaps other non-alcoholic beverages.
  • Alcoholic Beverages (Beer): According to customer reviews, the location offers "lotta beer options." This indicates a notable selection of alcoholic beverages, specifically beer, for those of legal age.

Features / Highlights

Beyond the basic services, gas stations often have specific features that define the customer experience. Here are some features and highlights observed at this particular Sunoco location in Hazleton:

  • Staff Interaction: Customer feedback indicates the presence of "Nice staff." This suggests a generally positive experience with the employees working at the station. Good customer service can significantly enhance a quick stop for fuel or supplies.
  • Pump Area Configuration: It has been noted that the "Pumps are tight, not a lot of room to get around." This is an important consideration for drivers, especially those with larger vehicles or during busy periods. Limited space around the pumps can make maneuvering a bit challenging.
  • Safety Concerns (Pump Malfunction): A significant concern highlighted by a customer review is a "major safety issue" involving a pump clip malfunction where "gas was pouring out of my gas tank down the side of my car into the ground." This incident suggests a potential issue with the automatic shut-off mechanism on at least one pump, which is a critical safety feature. The review also mentioned the car's engine light came on subsequently.
  • Clerk Response to Issues: In the reported incident of the pump malfunction, the clerk's response was described as "unconcerned" and attributed the issue to the customer using the clip, rather than acknowledging a potential equipment fault. This indicates a concerning level of customer service when dealing with safety and equipment issues.

Sunoco Customer Reviews

Horrible gas station. Avoid at all cost, will damage your car and put your engine light on. I went here on a rainy night last week, I put the clip in to pump my gas so I can sit in the car and not get wet while it rains. My BMW 3 series never takes more than $60 to fill. I look at the pump while in the car and see it’s running past $65, so I jump out and rush to see why. To my surprise, gas was pouring out of my gas tank down the side of my car into the ground. The clip malfunctioned and never disengaged. I go in to tell the clerk, heavy set Spanish guy, he looked unconcerned and was more worried I was going to ask for a refund on the spilled gas. He literally tells me it happened because I put the clip in and didn’t stay by the car to stop the flow myself. I just walked out the store frustrated. This is a major safety issue, thank God it was raining. Now my car’s engine light is on, the code reads to tighten gas cap, but it’s tight, the extra gas that filled to the top must have destroyed the sensor. Now I have to pay for that just because I stopped at this horrible gas station!

Check expiration dates if you purchase any food or drink. Just bought moldy pound cake and a beverage that was almost 2 years out of code.
