Sunoco at 406 W 3rd St in Nescopeck aims to be just that for local users, offering a familiar brand of fuel combined with the convenience of an associated store.

Sunoco, a well-established name in the energy sector, provides various grades of gasoline, known for meeting TOP TIER™ fuel standards, which means they contain detergent additives to help keep engines clean. While individual experiences can vary, the overall goal of a Sunoco station is to provide a consistent and convenient service. This article will delve into what makes the Sunoco station in Nescopeck a relevant option for Pennsylvania locals, covering its location, services, features, and how it fits into the community's needs, based on publicly available information and customer feedback.

Services Offered

The Sunoco station at 406 W 3rd St in Nescopeck primarily offers various grades of automotive fuel. As a branded Sunoco location, customers can expect to find:

  • Regular Unleaded Gasoline: The most common fuel type for everyday vehicles.
  • Plus and Premium Unleaded Gasoline: Higher octane options for vehicles that require or benefit from them, including Sunoco's signature 94 Octane, which is a TOP TIER™ fuel.
  • Diesel Fuel: Most Sunoco locations cater to both gasoline and diesel vehicles, providing options for passenger cars, trucks, and commercial vehicles.
  • Self-Service Fueling: Customers can pump their own gas, with payment accepted directly at the pump.
  • Convenience Store: Sunoco stations often include an APlus convenience store on site. These stores typically offer a range of products for travelers and locals alike, which generally include:
    • Snacks (chips, candy, pastries)
    • Cold Beverages (soda, juices, bottled water, energy drinks)
    • Hot Coffee and other hot beverages
    • Basic Groceries and everyday essentials
    • Tobacco products
    • Lottery tickets

It is important to note that while the station aims to provide "quick needs filled," the functionality of specific services like outdoor payment at the pumps can vary. One customer review indicated issues with the "chip reader of the pump" and being told to "pay inside," suggesting that while outdoor payment options are typically available, there might be instances where they are temporarily out of order, requiring customers to use the indoor payment method.

Features / Highlights

The Sunoco station in Nescopeck presents several features that contribute to its suitability for local Pennsylvania drivers, as well as some aspects that customers should be aware of:

  • Reliable Sunoco Fuel: Sunoco is a well-known brand, and their fuels are often marketed as TOP TIER™ gasoline. This means they contain advanced detergent additives designed to clean engine deposits and maintain optimal engine performance, which is a benefit for vehicle longevity and efficiency.
  • Convenience Store Access: The presence of an associated convenience store means customers can quickly grab snacks, drinks, or other essentials alongside their fuel purchase, making it a "most quick needs filled" stop.
  • Accessibility: Located on West 3rd Street, the station offers straightforward access for both local traffic and those passing through Nescopeck.
  • Standard Gas Station Amenities: Beyond fuel and the store, customers can expect standard amenities like restrooms (though specific cleanliness levels can vary by visit, generally APlus stores aim for a certain standard).
  • Potential for Quick Service: As an "average gas station" that may not always be "too busy," there's a good chance for quick in-and-out visits, minimizing wait times for fueling.

However, it is crucial to address the feedback regarding pump functionality and customer service. One review highlighted an issue where a "card got stuck in the chip reader" and a "rude" interaction with staff who indicated "the machines don't work outside and you pay inside" without clear signage. This suggests that while overall convenience is a goal, there might be occasional operational challenges or customer service inconsistencies. Pennsylvania locals might find it helpful to be prepared to pay inside if issues arise with the outdoor payment systems.

Sunoco Customer Reviews

Stopped for gas. My card got stuck in the chip reader of the pump for a few minutes until the pump finally released my card. The screen on the pump was stuck on "remove card". I went inside for help and was rudely told by a young male "you pay inside. The machines don't work outside and you pay inside". Signs were nowhere to be seen on the pumps or in the store to make customers aware of this. I told the cashier I will be getting gas from across the street from now on.

Great gas station. Most quick needs filled

I am a frequent visit of your gas station. I'm constantly in and out on at least a weekly basis, if not more. After tonight I will no longer be returning. I enjoy the workers and love the greetings I get. Once the newer younger worker started working there, he has refused my service more than once, and tonight was 10-15 minutes before the store closes. I walked in as someone was walking out, and he waited for me to get to the cooler and grab a drink and start walking to the register before saying "I'm closed" while still going through processes on the register. I myself work in retail/services and I'd get fired if I stopped sales even a minute before we closed. I am very disappointed with this interaction and the lack of service provided. From now on I will make sure I drive across town, before wasting my time walking inside, to gather things and be told after that the store is closed.

What a horrible and creepy place. Went in there in the evening to get gas and the pump asked me if I wanted a car wash so I said yes... what a mistake.... the receipt didn’t print so I went inside to get it (no problem) well then they were out of receipt paper inside. So o asked of there was a way he could just tell me my car wash code and he said no. Tried to call the owner and he didn’t answer and were acting as if they just wanted me to leave and give a $15 donation to this train wreck operation. Save yourself the trouble and just go down the road for gas to Chapin’s

Went there yesterday to get gas and cigaretts. I looked at my recipt when i got home and noticed that i got charged 2.30 for 2 pints of milk witch i did not buy. I figured no big deal id stop by today after work and have him give my money back honest mistake well i just stoped in and the guy called me a liar to my face. He said how can i believe that u didnt buy milk. Long story short he told me if i want milk to take it but he refused to give my money back. I know that 2.30 is not a big deal but that is poor customer service. And so if i could give sunoco a worse rating i would and they have definately lost a customer
